:00:14. > :00:16.Good afternoon and welcome to BBC London News.

:00:17. > :00:20.It's been almost ten years since Surrey student

:00:21. > :00:27.Meredith Kercher was found dead in Perugia in Italy.

:00:28. > :00:29.Along with Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito was twice

:00:30. > :00:34.Today, he's talked exclusively to the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire

:00:35. > :00:37.Programme about the debt he's been left with following the long legal

:00:38. > :00:48.Raffaele Sollecito arrives at the Victoria Derbyshire

:00:49. > :00:58.In 2015, Italy's top appeal court found him and Amanda Knox innocent

:00:59. > :01:03.She was 21, a student from Caulston, in Surrey,

:01:04. > :01:10.Over the next ten years, while her family looked for answers,

:01:11. > :01:12.for answers, Sollecito fought to prove his innocence.

:01:13. > :01:19.There are many victims in this case and there

:01:20. > :01:21.are Amanda's parents, my parents, all our families.

:01:22. > :01:23.Of course, Meredith Kercher is the first victim,

:01:24. > :01:25.but there are many others made by the prosecution mistakes.

:01:26. > :01:30.The legal battle, he says, left him 400,000 euros in debt

:01:31. > :01:32.and now he's seeking compensation from the Italian Government.

:01:33. > :01:37.What is the maximum that you could expect to receive?

:01:38. > :01:41.We have the maximum, which is 516,000 euros.

:01:42. > :01:54.But, of course, we have all the right to claim.

:01:55. > :02:01.But this is not even enough to compensate towards what my family

:02:02. > :02:06.Because the past ten years of this ordeal, of this nightmare.

:02:07. > :02:08.Talking about Meredith's family, he said...

:02:09. > :02:11.I am sad they repeat what the prosecution says

:02:12. > :02:14.because the real facts about this murder are in the said documents.

:02:15. > :02:21.You can read them and see the reality of this case.

:02:22. > :02:25.It is completely different from what the prosecution wanted to make

:02:26. > :02:28.people believe. An investigation is continuing

:02:29. > :02:30.after the bodies of a couple and their young son were discovered

:02:31. > :02:33.at a remote farmhouse in Surrey. They've not been

:02:34. > :02:39.formally identified, but neighbours have named them

:02:40. > :02:42.as Tiago and Adriana Nunes, and their son, who's

:02:43. > :02:46.also called Tiago. It's not known what caused the fire

:02:47. > :02:49.at the property near Reigate, but it's believed to have

:02:50. > :02:52.started on Monday night. Passengers using the Central

:02:53. > :02:54.and Waterloo and City lines are facing disruption all day today

:02:55. > :02:56.because of strike action The Central line has been suspended

:02:57. > :02:59.east of Leytonstone, The RMT Union are walking out for 24

:03:00. > :03:02.hours, in a dispute over plans to move some train

:03:03. > :03:12.operators between depots. My message to the trade unions is

:03:13. > :03:16.let's talk about it, let's resolve any differences we have. Because

:03:17. > :03:20.when there is a strike, everyone is a loser. Strikes are a sign of

:03:21. > :03:22.failure and I am determined to make sure that London will prosper from

:03:23. > :03:26.an excellent transport system. Next - Rye Lane, in Peckham,

:03:27. > :03:28.was once known as the Oxford And the highlight was

:03:29. > :03:32.the old Holdron's Department Store. These days, only the Art

:03:33. > :03:33.Deco building remains. But in spite of years

:03:34. > :03:36.of disrepair, a surprising Revealing its

:03:37. > :03:41.long-forgotten history. Khan's Bargains, Peckham,

:03:42. > :03:50.but in the 1930s and 1940s, Holdron's department store, one

:03:51. > :03:58.of the finest shops in the capital. When it closed, decades

:03:59. > :04:00.of quick repairs and low suspended ceilings took over,

:04:01. > :04:02.until Mr Khan arrived. And I don't like the

:04:03. > :04:18.suspended ceiling anyway. It was so dark, it was just

:04:19. > :04:21.above these shelves, And the way it was designed,

:04:22. > :04:24.the lighting, the mirrors, And when those ceiling tiles came

:04:25. > :04:29.down, this is what they discovered. An Art Deco vaulted ceiling,

:04:30. > :04:32.a thousand glass bricks, Well, what we've got is a really

:04:33. > :04:39.fine Art Deco ceiling... But with the help of local

:04:40. > :04:41.architect Benedict, the light This was designed in the early

:04:42. > :04:52.Modernist style to bring daylight and ventilation into the heart

:04:53. > :04:54.of a very deepland department store. A thousand glass lenses,

:04:55. > :04:58.bringing daylight into the middle It's a really bold work of early

:04:59. > :05:03.Modernist architecture, And this local decorator was one

:05:04. > :05:17.of those who helped. Nicknamed the Michelangelo

:05:18. > :05:23.of Peckham for spending months Well, some of the people

:05:24. > :05:26.call me Superman! And some call me

:05:27. > :05:28.the hero of the day! Bringing the old store back

:05:29. > :05:37.to its former splendour. It's the fourth round of

:05:38. > :05:43.the FA Cup this weekend, with a host of teams from the lower

:05:44. > :05:46.leagues getting their chance to shine against the giants

:05:47. > :05:48.of the Premier League. Among those out to cause a shock

:05:49. > :05:51.are League Two Wycombe, Chris Slegg has been at the Wycombe

:05:52. > :06:03.training ground this morning. Wycombe Wanderers through to the FA

:06:04. > :06:07.Cup fourth round for the second time in their 130 year history, a huge

:06:08. > :06:11.prize awaits because they have drawn Tottenham. They travel to White Hart

:06:12. > :06:18.Lane this Saturday to try to cause a huge shock. With me is Luca, Joe and

:06:19. > :06:23.Sam. Joe, is there any chance you think somehow you cannot Tottenham

:06:24. > :06:27.out of the FA Cup? Yes, we have to go believing we have a chance or

:06:28. > :06:33.there is no point turning up. We have seen it in the past, we saw

:06:34. > :06:40.Liverpool draw with Plymouth in the last round and we have to go there

:06:41. > :06:45.full of confidence, we have won 16 games and hopefully we will pull off

:06:46. > :06:48.an upset. In the last round, you were heavy favourites, taking on

:06:49. > :06:51.Stourbridge, and they did ever so well but you came through. Do you

:06:52. > :06:55.see that as inspiration that you could cause the same problems for

:06:56. > :07:00.Tottenham that they nearly caused you? Of course, they cause an upset

:07:01. > :07:05.beating Northampton so we knew it would be a tough game but if we take

:07:06. > :07:10.that mentality of being good enough, we will give them a good game and

:07:11. > :07:13.like you said, 16 unbeaten and full of confidence. So we will go with a

:07:14. > :07:20.great attitude and hoping to get the win. You were only seven when

:07:21. > :07:24.Wycombe got to the fourth round last, how do you feel about what you

:07:25. > :07:28.have achieved so far as the team and watch chance is due give yourself

:07:29. > :07:32.this weekend? Yes, 16 unbeaten, it has been an incredible run and we

:07:33. > :07:35.will look to keep that record going. It will be tough but we are

:07:36. > :07:40.underdogs and everybody loves an underdog in the FA Cup, we are

:07:41. > :07:44.looking forward to it. One does indeed enjoy an underdog and I am

:07:45. > :07:47.sure Wycombe will have plenty of support when they take on Tottenham,

:07:48. > :07:49.a three o'clock kick-off on Saturday.

:07:50. > :07:51.Chris Slegg, reporting from the Wycombe training ground there.

:07:52. > :07:57.Chilly weather for training and for watching football, we hope it warms

:07:58. > :07:59.up over the weekend. Time for the weather now,

:08:00. > :08:08.with Elizabeth Rizzini. We have had some snow towards the

:08:09. > :08:14.North and the West. Still some mist and fog but not a problem today, but

:08:15. > :08:18.grey and low cloud and a chilly south-easterly wind makes it feel as

:08:19. > :08:23.if it is subzero for the rest of the afternoon, although in theory,

:08:24. > :08:27.temperatures will be between zero and three Celsius only in Central

:08:28. > :08:30.London. Feeling colder and perhaps late breakfast towards the South

:08:31. > :08:35.East, and clear skies for the first half of the night. Temperatures

:08:36. > :08:40.below freezing in rural areas, showers and more cloud for the

:08:41. > :08:44.second part of the night. There may be ice on the roads and pavements

:08:45. > :08:47.into tomorrow morning so watch out for that. The winds tomorrow will

:08:48. > :08:52.shift direction to more of a westerly. Some milder air. And

:08:53. > :08:58.outbreaks of rain through the afternoon. Just some rain and a lot

:08:59. > :09:03.of grey cloud, not a pleasant stay and it will feel milder, 7-8 C.

:09:04. > :09:07.Milder over the weekend, feeling cold, quite unpleasant with the rain

:09:08. > :09:11.and heavy showers around on Saturday. Brighter spells and on

:09:12. > :09:12.Sunday, we start off wet and finished dry.

:09:13. > :09:14.That's all from us on the lunchtime team.

:09:15. > :09:16.Do tune in later, though, for our 6:30pm programme.

:09:17. > :09:21.There's plenty more news travel and weather on our website at

:09:22. > :09:24.Whatever you're up to, have a great afternoon.
