:00:55. > :00:56.the family last night, how is he doing?
:00:57. > :00:59.I was with both the families and both of the victims, as well.
:01:00. > :01:02.And I have to say that both young men are very good,
:01:03. > :01:06.The mothers have been devastated by what they have seen.
:01:07. > :01:09.In particular one young man whose one side of his face
:01:10. > :01:12.And they've both been referred to a burns unit.
:01:13. > :01:14.That's Shakwat Hussain, isn't it, the 24-year-old?
:01:15. > :01:17.Any indication as to what might have provoked this?
:01:18. > :01:22.We understand the person police are looking for,
:01:23. > :01:24.the person they have said they saw do this,
:01:25. > :01:29.I think that's what the statements have stated but it is best
:01:30. > :01:32.So that they can catch the perpetrators and make sure
:01:33. > :01:36.that they are brought to justice, as well.
:01:37. > :01:38.My part in this is to support the families, make sure
:01:39. > :01:42.And often in these cases we talk about legislation,
:01:43. > :01:45.we talk about a range of other things, but we also have to talk
:01:46. > :01:48.about the victim and the support they and their families need.
:01:49. > :01:50.In terms of trying to stop acid attacks in London,
:01:51. > :01:53.and across the UK, there has been a lot of talk about greater
:01:54. > :01:56.regulation for those who sell acid or corrosive liquids and greater
:01:57. > :01:59.punishment for those found carrying or using it.
:02:00. > :02:04.And how soon do you think this can happen?
:02:05. > :02:13.Sentences need to be tougher, but at the same time,
:02:14. > :02:16.before we even get to that stage, we need to make sure
:02:17. > :02:19.Councils through their trading standards can also take
:02:20. > :02:23.We need to also hold retailers who sell corrosive substances to be
:02:24. > :02:26.far more responsible with whom they sell it to.

:03:05. > :03:09.Yet mental health problems for pregnant women and new mothers
:03:10. > :03:11.is still not something many people talk about.
:03:12. > :03:14.Now St Mary's Hospital in Paddington is trying to change this -
:03:15. > :03:16.and make sure women across London have the support they need.
:03:17. > :03:29.The most common side effect you can have
:03:30. > :03:35.during pregnancy is problems with your mental health.
:03:36. > :03:37.On the surface Pippa enjoyed two perfectly healthy pregnancies.
:03:38. > :03:40.But she couldn't understand why things were so hard.
:03:41. > :03:42.I always thought that being depressed was being
:03:43. > :03:51.And I ended up going to see my gynaecologist for an appointment
:03:52. > :03:55.And she said, I think we need to get you to see somebody.
:03:56. > :03:59.For every five women in the UK who have a baby,
:04:00. > :04:04.One in seven women who die in the first year of their baby's
:04:05. > :04:15.It makes you feel like you are failing, it makes you feel
:04:16. > :04:18.like you are not being the mum your child deserves.
:04:19. > :04:20.And telling someone that, that is kind of hard.
:04:21. > :04:30.Madeline leads a team at St Mary's Hospital who treat
:04:31. > :04:33.pregnant women and new mothers who have mental health problems.
:04:34. > :04:36.We are finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning.
:04:37. > :04:38.This centre wants to get rid of the stigma of
:04:39. > :04:42.In a sense our society doesn't give women permission to become unwell or
:04:43. > :04:44.to be honest about how unwell they can feel.
:04:45. > :04:47.And many women for instance have a fear of childbirth
:04:48. > :04:49.or may feel estranged from their babies.
:04:50. > :04:56.And this feeling is very difficult to disclose.
:04:57. > :05:02.Thanks to ?3 million grant, this centre can now help women across
:05:03. > :05:06.five boroughs make their fears more normal.
:05:07. > :05:09.The aim is to catch the problems early so that they can
:05:10. > :05:16.safeguard a more hopeful and happy future for all the family.
:05:17. > :05:19.A man serving a life sentence for raping and murdering the teenage
:05:20. > :05:21.model Sally Anne Bowman in south London has admitted previously
:05:22. > :05:28.Mark Dixie was jailed for repeatedly stabbing Miss Bowman,
:05:29. > :05:32.He's appeared via videolink at Southwark Crown Court
:05:33. > :05:35.and admitted raping a woman in 1987- when he was 16 and attacking
:05:36. > :05:43.This week marks five years on from the start
:05:44. > :05:47.And of course it all began with the torch-bearers -
:05:48. > :05:50.who carried the flame to the stadium in east London.
:05:51. > :05:52.Among those chosen for the honour was John Lake,
:05:53. > :05:54.who was nominated after overcoming a brain tumour and depression.
:05:55. > :06:03.He's been sharing his memories of that day.
:06:04. > :06:06.In 2012 I was nominated to carry the torch with the Olympic flame.
:06:07. > :06:15.And following the surgery from that I got a very severe depression,
:06:16. > :06:24.and I got suicidal, and I got sectioned in 2006.
:06:25. > :06:27.As I was waiting for the torch what went through my mind
:06:28. > :06:41.One thing I found that really made me feel better was exercise.
:06:42. > :06:43.Running and getting the endorphins flowing through the system
:06:44. > :06:49.So I did the London Marathon in 2007 for the Brain Research Trust.
:06:50. > :06:52.In the year after that I did the Ironman triathlon.
:06:53. > :07:00.COMMENTATOR: No false starts, thank goodness.
:07:01. > :07:03.I went to see Usain Bolt run his 200 metre heat,
:07:04. > :07:08.So I'd been watching all of the field events,
:07:09. > :07:11.which were quite mad, you know, the high jump and the long
:07:12. > :07:15.And when Usain Bolt came in the whole stadium stood up.
:07:16. > :07:19.And he won, of course, he won his heat.
:07:20. > :07:22.It was mad to be seeing that, to be a part of that,
:07:23. > :07:26.Looking on, five years back, I feel like I've made
:07:27. > :07:34.I'm now a qualified mental health counsellor.
:07:35. > :07:37.My commitment to exercise is still there because I still like to get
:07:38. > :07:39.out and run because it makes me feel mentally better,
:07:40. > :07:44.It feels like a real journey, if I look back to see how far I have
:07:45. > :07:56.Great memories. What is not great is the weather. It does not feel like
:07:57. > :08:01.July, does it? Not at the moment. He did earlier.
