:00:00. > :00:20.The Mayor's ambition to make London the greenest city on the planet has

:00:21. > :00:24.Up to a third of jobs in London could be at risk from technology

:00:25. > :00:27.That's according to the financial firm Deloitte.

:00:28. > :00:32.So what kind of jobs will it affect and what might replace them?

:00:33. > :00:34.In the latest on our series on Future London we're looking

:00:35. > :00:46.at how London might be working by 2050.

:00:47. > :00:52.Not too many sweets? Children here are imagining the world of work, be

:00:53. > :00:55.it as a dentist or supermarket cashier, they are trying to earn

:00:56. > :00:58.enough to put in the bank. What they can't account for is how rapid

:00:59. > :01:04.changes in technology are having an impact on the workforce. Across the

:01:05. > :01:07.world, two thirds of children entering primary School will end up

:01:08. > :01:13.working in jobs that don't yet exist. So what types of jobs will

:01:14. > :01:18.they be, and how will be created? And what impact will it have on the

:01:19. > :01:21.workforce? Technology has had a big impact on jobs in London, certainly

:01:22. > :01:26.over the last 15 years. We think that trend will continue. We have

:01:27. > :01:29.lost two thirds of travel agents and two thirds of librarians due to the

:01:30. > :01:33.impact of technology. The good news is that it has been more than made

:01:34. > :01:36.up for by new jobs created by technology, jobs and technology

:01:37. > :01:42.itself, creative jobs, professional service jobs and a lot of caring

:01:43. > :01:45.jobs. At Deloitte digital office, they are working with companies to

:01:46. > :01:50.help them make the most of new technology. One day, you could be

:01:51. > :01:55.served by a robot like this. Though, like humans, she can also be prone

:01:56. > :02:00.to an off day. We like to have this technology here so that we can show

:02:01. > :02:06.it to clients, rather than talk to them about it, because some of

:02:07. > :02:11.these... Oh, she's dyed! Will the new technology free up our ability

:02:12. > :02:13.to work wherever, whenever? The shared work space has opened in

:02:14. > :02:20.Spitalfields, on the fringe of the city, home to the more conventional

:02:21. > :02:23.workplace. In this building there are 150 different teams, from

:02:24. > :02:28.charities, all the way through to small teams from big corporations

:02:29. > :02:31.like Ernst Young, the accounting firm. What we are doing is creating

:02:32. > :02:37.an environment in which small teams can really flourish. The city right

:02:38. > :02:41.now makes life really hard for a small business. So how we work and

:02:42. > :02:45.what we will be doing in 30 years' time could be unrecognisable.

:02:46. > :02:48.The head of the Metropolitan Police Federation say's it's a disgrace

:02:49. > :02:50.31 officers were injured at this years Notting Hill carnival.

:02:51. > :02:56.with bottles and other objects, while others had blood spat at them.

:02:57. > :02:59.Ken Marsh who leads the Federation says he'll be talking

:03:00. > :03:01.to the Mayor and Scotland Yard about the incidents.

:03:02. > :03:04.313 people were arrested over the two day event which was attended

:03:05. > :03:19.Plenty of sportsmen and women have second thoughts about retirement.

:03:20. > :03:23.How about making a come back after 38 years?

:03:24. > :03:25.That's exactly what two synchronised swimmers from Bracknell

:03:26. > :03:28.Tom Hepworth went to watch Andrea Holland

:03:29. > :03:43.The world Masters Championships in Budapest. Andrea and Carolyn won

:03:44. > :03:46.bronze in their age group. My God. I remember the pink costumes and

:03:47. > :03:53.dreadful headdresses. The last time they were ranked in the top five in

:03:54. > :03:57.the world was in 1969. It was like going back in time and you just feel

:03:58. > :04:02.the same. You don't look the same, but you feel exactly the same. After

:04:03. > :04:06.retiring, they continued coaching. Andrea got back into the water again

:04:07. > :04:17.to raise money for Cancer research. She persuaded Carolyn to join her

:04:18. > :04:19.last year. With swimming, it makes me feel young again. I think we swim

:04:20. > :04:30.better now than we did in 1979. It has been a long time since we

:04:31. > :04:32.swam together previously, but we got straight back into it. We sort of

:04:33. > :04:45.know what the other one is thinking. The social life goes out the window.

:04:46. > :04:53.This becomes our social life. Which perhaps is not fair on our behalf.

:04:54. > :04:57.But something has to give. Carolyn and Andrea have no intention of

:04:58. > :04:59.retiring for a second time just yet. They have their eye on the European

:05:00. > :05:03.Championships in Slovenia next year. It was a private show for supporters

:05:04. > :05:06.and friends of the Royal Ballet. Prince Charles was going to be

:05:07. > :05:09.in the audience and she wanted Princess Diana's top

:05:10. > :05:15.secret performance with Wayne Sleep was

:05:16. > :05:17.leaked to the tabloids - but it showed the world how

:05:18. > :05:20.passionate she was about dance. 20 years on from her death,

:05:21. > :05:24.her support for all forms of dancing is being kept alive,

:05:25. > :05:36.as Sarah Harris reports. The Royal Academy of dance, in

:05:37. > :05:39.Battersea Square, where it all started for one of the most famous

:05:40. > :05:44.ballet stars of his day, Wayne sleep. It was back in his heyday

:05:45. > :05:50.that he struck up a friendship with the then Princess of Wales, a

:05:51. > :05:55.closeness he still feels 20 years after her death. I will find it very

:05:56. > :05:59.sad to remember this, but also I will remember the fun moments we had

:06:00. > :06:05.together. We had a great time, you know. She used to come over to the

:06:06. > :06:12.flat, kick off her heels and walk around barefoot. Just completely

:06:13. > :06:19.zonk out and relax. I thought it was wonderful that she could feel so

:06:20. > :06:23.comfortable in my presence. Diana famously loved to dance and wanted

:06:24. > :06:27.to learn to surprise her husband at the Royal Opera house. It was when

:06:28. > :06:32.she chose to be her partner, despite their dramatic height difference.

:06:33. > :06:37.Amazingly, what I didn't know, she took to it like a duck to water. I

:06:38. > :06:41.mean, the performance was as if she had been performing all her life at

:06:42. > :06:45.Covent Garden. I was worried the nerves would get to her on the

:06:46. > :06:49.night, 2600 people, complete blackout, Spotlight in your face,

:06:50. > :06:53.and you've got to do a big routine. Your husband is watching from the

:06:54. > :06:59.box. You haven't told him about it. You are going to get a rollicking,

:07:00. > :07:03.probably, but who cares? She just went for gold. Next door to the

:07:04. > :07:06.Royal Academy and a certain Prince George will be starting this school

:07:07. > :07:11.in a feud short weeks. And guess what? He will be having ballet

:07:12. > :07:13.lessons with a Royal Academy accredited teacher. His grandmother

:07:14. > :07:20.supported by lay until the end of her life, including helping Wayne's

:07:21. > :07:24.foundation for young artists. He believes she would be delighted that

:07:25. > :07:30.George is taking lessons and has this advice. Keep at it. It's good

:07:31. > :07:36.technique, it makes your mind quick and it is very good exercise.

:07:37. > :07:40.Lets face it, the weather is rubbish today. Let's see if the summer

:07:41. > :07:42.really is finally over. From the warmth and sunshine

:07:43. > :07:47.of recent days to something A damp start in

:07:48. > :07:51.Teddington this morning. The rain's been fairly patchy

:07:52. > :07:54.over the last few hours. It was dry when this picture

:07:55. > :07:56.was taken in Heathrow, You can see from the most

:07:57. > :08:00.recent satellite and radar that there is more rain to come

:08:01. > :08:03.to the afternoon and this will become more persistent,

:08:04. > :08:04.brighter colours indicating It's going to take its time

:08:05. > :08:08.to clear away eastwards. Probably not seeing something drier

:08:09. > :08:10.until much later that afternoon. Really having an impact

:08:11. > :08:12.on the temperatures. They won't get much higher than 14

:08:13. > :08:15.or 15 Celsius, a much cooler feel. Slowly from the West, things

:08:16. > :08:18.will dry up through this evening. Showers following on behind,

:08:19. > :08:20.but eventually the night becomes dry on the skies

:08:21. > :08:24.turn increasingly clear. Temperatures holding up into double

:08:25. > :08:28.figures in the centre of town, in more rural spots it will get down

:08:29. > :08:32.to around eight or nine Celsius. We start tomorrow with

:08:33. > :08:34.plenty of sunshine. Fairly soon there be

:08:35. > :08:36.some cloud developing. Through the afternoon, that does

:08:37. > :08:44.bring the chance of some showers. Quite well scattered,

:08:45. > :08:46.but if you catch one, it could well beyond the sharp side

:08:47. > :08:49.and fairly slow moving as well. At least in the sunshine,

:08:50. > :08:51.temperatures perking up again tomorrow with highs of 19 or 20

:08:52. > :08:53.Celsius. We see this area of high

:08:54. > :08:55.pressure slowly building Lasting pretty much

:08:56. > :09:00.all of the weekend. The system eventually

:09:01. > :09:02.will bring more cloud For Thursday and Friday,

:09:03. > :09:05.bright starts, maybe a few Plenty of sunshine on Saturday,

:09:06. > :09:08.but cloud increasing Riz Lateef will be here

:09:09. > :09:20.with our 6:30 evening programme. But for now, from us all,

:09:21. > :09:47.a very good afternoon. Worth making a

:09:48. > :10:00.song and dance about - The Big Family Cooking Showdown

:10:01. > :10:10.continues... There's only ever going to be

:10:11. > :10:13.room in his heart for one person. You think about everything

:10:14. > :10:16.that's wrong, it's just Jane.
