:00:18. > :00:23.It means a severely reduced service, station closures and a massive

:00:24. > :00:24.headache for commuters, particularly during

:00:25. > :00:31.The walk-out is over jobs and ticket office closures.

:00:32. > :00:33.With the strike just beginning, let's get the latest

:00:34. > :00:42.from Emilia Papadopolous. Emilia.

:00:43. > :00:49.I can tell you that already here at Euston Station, things are much

:00:50. > :00:53.busier than they normally are on a Sunday with a lot of traffic here,

:00:54. > :00:57.people coming out from the trains and not being able to get onto the

:00:58. > :01:02.Tube because of course, this station is going to be closed tomorrow, as

:01:03. > :01:06.will be Waterloo, King's Cross and a lot of busy stations where people

:01:07. > :01:10.come to London and go on to take the Tube so we expect a lot of chaos

:01:11. > :01:13.tomorrow so if travelling, expected to be a lot busier than normal.

:01:14. > :01:15.Just over 20 minutes ago, this happened.

:01:16. > :01:18.The doors to almost all central London tube stations

:01:19. > :01:21.were closed, marking the start of a 24-hour strike.

:01:22. > :01:23.Both commuters and the Mayor of London had been hoping

:01:24. > :01:26.it wouldn't come to this, but this morning, unions confirmed they'd

:01:27. > :01:28.rejected a last-minute offer from Transport for London

:01:29. > :01:34.While many don't know how or if they'll be able to get to work

:01:35. > :01:39.tomorrow, what is certain is more chaos and disruption.

:01:40. > :01:41.Businesses, like this one in Soho, are also worried.

:01:42. > :01:44.Sundays are normally a fairly quiet day for us anyway.

:01:45. > :01:47.However, obviously we rely on a lot of walk-ins that I don't believe

:01:48. > :01:51.Lots of people come in to us after half past

:01:52. > :01:54.Considering the strike is starting this evening,

:01:55. > :01:57.I don't think we're going to see any of that any more.

:01:58. > :01:59.In north London tonight, thousands of football fans

:02:00. > :02:02.at Tottenham Stadium know that getting home will be tough.

:02:03. > :02:04.I have to stay at my parent's house and

:02:05. > :02:06.then they're going to drive me to work.

:02:07. > :02:11.Uber, black cab, overground, have a walk,

:02:12. > :02:17.We live in south-west London, so we're just going to go as far

:02:18. > :02:20.south as we can on a bus, we might walk a bit.

:02:21. > :02:22.Kind of hoping eventually we get somewhere

:02:23. > :02:24.we can get another bus and then kind of walk home.

:02:25. > :02:27.During the strikes, TFL will put on 200 extra buses in

:02:28. > :02:30.central London, but do expect long queues.

:02:31. > :02:36.Although it'll be busy, hundreds of extra bikes will be available

:02:37. > :02:39.at special pop-up hubs at Waterloo, King's Cross and here at Soho Square

:02:40. > :02:43.There will also be extra staff around to

:02:44. > :02:47.help people drop off bikes when the docking stations are full.

:02:48. > :02:50.There are other ways to get into the capital tomorrow, but none

:02:51. > :02:57.And we certainly won't be seeing many of these.

:02:58. > :02:59.And in a bit more detail, what disruption can millions

:03:00. > :03:16.The bad news for commuters is a lot of this disruption that we have been

:03:17. > :03:22.expecting has already started. When the Tube closed 20 minutes ago. We

:03:23. > :03:28.can see this year. Tomorrow, all Tube stations in zone one will be

:03:29. > :03:32.shot, every single Tube station in central London. Also, the Victoria,

:03:33. > :03:37.Waterloo City lines will not be running. So do make alternative

:03:38. > :03:41.plans if you take those. There will be a severely reduced service on all

:03:42. > :03:42.their minds, especially in Outer London.

:03:43. > :03:44.And even though the strike has officially begun,

:03:45. > :03:47.I hear the Mayor is still holding out for a breakthrough

:03:48. > :04:00.Yes, Sadiq Khan called for a last-ditch talks to avert this

:04:01. > :04:01.action and although the unions rejected the latest offer from

:04:02. > :04:07.Transport for London, the Mayor has Transport for London, the Mayor has

:04:08. > :04:10.instructed them to not give up and to continue negotiating with them

:04:11. > :04:14.and he says that his side will be available around the clock because

:04:15. > :04:19.he really wants to resolve this dispute and I would imagine that

:04:20. > :04:20.computers all over London, anyone travelling, will hope that he can

:04:21. > :04:23.pull this off. Thank you. Well, there's a full Tube strike
