:01:07. > :01:09.We're setting up energy for Londoners to make sure we have

:01:10. > :01:11.sustainable forms of generation of electricity in London.

:01:12. > :01:13.We've got to rethink the way our city operates.

:01:14. > :01:17.London-based entrepreneur Eric Fairburn believes he has the answer.

:01:18. > :01:19.Partly through crowdfunding, his firm is providing thousands

:01:20. > :01:22.of charging points across London, at airports, supermarkets

:01:23. > :01:24.and housing developments, to make electric car driving

:01:25. > :01:28.We really think that electric vehicles are just

:01:29. > :01:31.about to hit mass market, and that means we need to put

:01:32. > :01:35.thousands and thousands of charge points everywhere you park

:01:36. > :01:40.So this investment is a fundamental change in our ability

:01:41. > :01:46.The latest technology may make drivers in the capital think again

:01:47. > :01:48.about owning their own car, with sharing becoming

:01:49. > :01:54.Electric car technology is changing all the time.

:01:55. > :01:57.For example, if I want to put the heating on in the car,

:01:58. > :02:01.I can do it from inside the house, using my phone.

:02:02. > :02:04.And if I press this button twice on the motorway,

:02:05. > :02:08.While campaigners accept private and public initiatives are steps

:02:09. > :02:11.in the right direction, many are calling for action now

:02:12. > :02:14.to make the capital's air cleaner, and to protect Londoners' health.

:02:15. > :02:23.One of the men convicted of the racist killing of teenager

:02:24. > :02:27.Stephen Lawrence in Eltham nearly 25 years ago is to sue the government,

:02:28. > :02:33.David Norris is said to be seeking thousands of pounds in compensation,

:02:34. > :02:36.because of an alleged attack at Belmarsh Prison

:02:37. > :02:41.His lawyers claim he was put at risk by being moved

:02:42. > :02:48.Former boxer, Michael Watson, and his carer have been injured

:03:06. > :03:09.built in Chelmsford, as a modern day version

:03:10. > :03:13.And the local authority promises that rents there will be low,

:03:14. > :03:22.By the spring, this parking lot will be one of two council-owned

:03:23. > :03:24.sites where the first 18 prefab homes will be assembled for some

:03:25. > :03:29.It will be people who are mainly on our waiting list,

:03:30. > :03:30.and in desperate need of immediate accommodation, people

:03:31. > :03:36.who will have become homeless from their present accommodation.

:03:37. > :03:38.The interesting thing about this unit is it was assembled

:03:39. > :03:44.What we've got here is a separate bedroom, a living area here,

:03:45. > :03:48.and you can see through here we have got a shower room within a bathroom,

:03:49. > :03:51.and, of course, in the kitchen, the fridge, washing machine already

:03:52. > :03:59.Now, it can be assembled on-site in half a day,

:04:00. > :04:03.This is very much a quick fix for a local council.

:04:04. > :04:06.But the housing industry will be taking note of this because so many

:04:07. > :04:10.young people are unable to afford to get onto the property ladder.

:04:11. > :04:13.So these prefab homes could be a game-changer.
