:00:00. > :00:00.A look at the papers on the News Channel. Now on BBC One the news

:00:00. > :00:18.where you are. on a train into London

:00:19. > :00:39.say they're now afraid, It happened on Valentine's Day,

:00:40. > :00:44.but now images have been released of the men

:00:45. > :00:47.police want to speak to. They knocked these two teeth down

:00:48. > :00:52.here out and I had a lot of bruising and cuts all round my face and,

:00:53. > :00:55.Zbynek, you had a lot of bruising Phil and his boyfriend, Zbynek,

:00:56. > :00:59.had fallen asleep on a train home after celebrating Valentine's Day

:01:00. > :01:02.in Reading when they were set One guy just woke me up and said

:01:03. > :01:07.something nasty to us and I just said leave us alone

:01:08. > :01:09.and the attack starts. I think they didn't

:01:10. > :01:12.like me laying on Zbynek. I was laid over him and I think

:01:13. > :01:15.that's what caused the issue. I'd never got in a fight

:01:16. > :01:17.in my life so to suddenly Police have now released

:01:18. > :01:26.these images of four men they want to speak to in connection

:01:27. > :01:29.with the incident. They got off the train at Ealing

:01:30. > :01:34.Broadway moments after the assault. Police say this was a prolonged,

:01:35. > :01:38.very nasty attack which the victims believe to have been

:01:39. > :01:40.motivated by homophobia. They say hate crime of this kind

:01:41. > :01:44.will absolutely not be tolerated and they are appealing for anyone

:01:45. > :01:49.with information to come forward. At the moment, I'm just a bit scared

:01:50. > :01:53.to go on the evening train. So many things in the world,

:01:54. > :01:56.bad things happening, and why people are picking on people

:01:57. > :01:59.because of their sexuality A man has tonight been charged

:02:00. > :02:15.with the murder of an 80-year-old woman whose body was found

:02:16. > :02:18.in a garage at an Lea Adri-Soejoko's body

:02:19. > :02:23.was found on Tuesday. Rahim Mohammadi, from east London

:02:24. > :02:26.is accused of her murder. Most schools in London are set

:02:27. > :02:28.to lose money under a new funding formula to be introduced

:02:29. > :02:31.by the Government. Ministers argue the system will be

:02:32. > :02:33.fairer, while London Councils say Tim Donovan has been

:02:34. > :02:38.examining the arguments. The Elizabeth Garrett Anderson

:02:39. > :02:40.School in Islington is set to lose ?650 for every one of its pupils

:02:41. > :02:42.and so, of course, says the head here there will be an impact

:02:43. > :02:44.on what she can provide. What we would have to look

:02:45. > :02:47.at is, for example, Do we make sure that

:02:48. > :02:51.every teacher is teaching We would need to think about every

:02:52. > :02:58.subject we offer and all sorts of things that are outside

:02:59. > :03:01.the learning day by day London schools get ?7,000

:03:02. > :03:06.a year per pupil, well above the national

:03:07. > :03:08.average, and the Government What we need to do is make sure that

:03:09. > :03:15.all schools have fair funding. You have pointed out

:03:16. > :03:18.what this school is getting. I don't know the school

:03:19. > :03:22.myself, but what I do know is that it is important

:03:23. > :03:25.to have a fairer funding system In Tower Hamlets the elected Mayor

:03:26. > :03:30.is clear that there is good reason why its schools get high

:03:31. > :03:33.levels of funding. We have the highest level of child

:03:34. > :03:35.poverty of any local authority in the country and we have very high

:03:36. > :03:39.costs as well, so to build a home in Tower Hamlets cost more

:03:40. > :03:41.than anywhere else in the country. What is clear is that in London

:03:42. > :03:49.challenging decisions lie ahead. Thousands of people have marched

:03:50. > :03:52.through central London ahead It was organised to highlight

:03:53. > :03:56.the plight of female refugees and was attended by singer

:03:57. > :03:59.Annie Lennox, campaigner, Bianca Jagger and London Mayor Sadiq Khan,

:04:00. > :04:03.who led calls for gender equality. It's still the case that

:04:04. > :04:06.here in London, the most progressive city in the world,

:04:07. > :04:09.the gender pay gap is 11%. That's men earning 11% more

:04:10. > :04:15.than women for doing the same work. What's important is that we redouble

:04:16. > :04:18.our efforts to progress Now let's get the weather

:04:19. > :04:22.with Elizabeth. Still the chance of one or two

:04:23. > :04:27.showers left to come this evening but they will fade away overnight

:04:28. > :04:30.and it will be a dry start Some brightness towards western

:04:31. > :04:34.areas, always cloudier in the east and quite a chilly start

:04:35. > :04:37.for the new working week as well. Through the afternoon,

:04:38. > :04:39.there will be some sunny spells but also the chance

:04:40. > :04:41.of one or two showers. Top temperature 11 degrees Celsius

:04:42. > :04:44.and lighter winds than we saw today. It will be staying unsettled

:04:45. > :04:46.as we head through the working week. That's it from the BBC

:04:47. > :04:55.London weekend team. Have a very good night

:04:56. > :05:11.and good week ahead. Good evening. We have seen all sorts

:05:12. > :05:15.today. Some rain, some hail, some snow and even a bit of sunshine.

:05:16. > :05:19.Things are calming down for the most part but still a bit damp in some

:05:20. > :05:22.eastern counties overnight and some showers in the western side of

:05:23. > :05:27.Scotland with a touch of frost already here. And another weather

:05:28. > :05:31.system bring rain and snow towards the south-west by dawn, it's quite

:05:32. > :05:35.chilly 3-5 will be fairly typical. A little snow to be had over the tops

:05:36. > :05:38.of the moors in the south-west of England but generally a lot of rain.

:05:39. > :05:42.Not a great commute. Some might fringe nooted south of Wales. But

:05:43. > :05:45.generally speaking through Wales, Midlands, and south-east a

:05:46. > :05:48.reasonable start. Although for many eastern counties a fair bit of cloud

:05:49. > :05:52.and pockets of light rain and drizzle. Further west that bit

:05:53. > :05:53.brighter. A decent start in Northern Ireland. Maybe a
