:00:32. > :00:33.who died after collapsing on the pitch in Surrey a week ago.

:00:34. > :00:36.Fellow players tried desperately to resuscitate Shawnton de four

:00:37. > :00:39.at the Old Emanuel club in New Malden - but he died

:00:40. > :00:42.His friends are trying to raise money to support his wife -

:00:43. > :00:46.A minute's silence, respect and memories

:00:47. > :00:49.a week on for the beloved team-mate who died at the club

:00:50. > :00:51.he loved playing for playing the game he adored.

:00:52. > :00:53.Shawnton de Four was just 34 when he collapsed

:00:54. > :01:01.and died on the field here

:01:02. > :01:05.His team-mates did everything they could to resuscitate him.

:01:06. > :01:07.The cause of his death is still not known.

:01:08. > :01:10.Shawnton was a wonderful man and a great friend

:01:11. > :01:13.He was one of those all-round people in the

:01:14. > :01:15.club that everyone loves, and soon as you meet

:01:16. > :01:16.him you want to get to

:01:17. > :01:22.as it was the winning point for a final.

:01:23. > :01:25.You would not want him running at you and you were always

:01:26. > :01:27.very grateful that he was on your side.

:01:28. > :01:31.A web page has been set up by the club to raise money for his wife

:01:32. > :01:33.and 18-month-old twins, and for people to share their memories.

:01:38. > :01:40.they've got something they can read how loved he was, and his friends

:03:01. > :03:02.The build-up was very nerve-racking, was very tense.

:03:03. > :03:04.As a gay man I know how important it is

:03:05. > :03:06.to grow up with positive role models who can

:03:07. > :03:07.support you, understand you

:03:08. > :03:16.and help you see that it gets better.

:03:17. > :03:18.That's why we've set up the LGBT Culture Club.

:03:19. > :03:20.There were some shrugs, there were some smiles, a

:03:21. > :03:22.couple of mouths fell open, but generally the reaction

:03:23. > :03:24.was rather muted and it was only after the

:03:25. > :03:31.assembly that the reaction became stronger and so much more positive.

:03:32. > :03:34.I remember sitting in the assembly going, oh my God, he's just come out

:03:35. > :03:39.But I honestly think we are the most accepting

:03:40. > :03:46.I was quite shocked first of all but he's actually came out in

:03:47. > :03:48.confidence and I thought that was really quite fantastic.

:03:49. > :03:50.Everyone was talking about it but everyone

:03:51. > :03:55.It's a good feeling to know that someone

:03:56. > :03:57.else is different and they're OK with it.

:03:58. > :04:02.Because I had such a horrendous experience at school it's

:04:03. > :04:06.been really important to me to come out of the students because I think

:04:07. > :04:09.I want to be the role model that I never had.

:04:10. > :04:11.My secondary school experience in Basingstoke, I was

:04:12. > :04:12.bullied every single day for being gay.

:04:13. > :04:19.They used to call me names, they used to

:04:20. > :04:22.push me around in corridors, all kinds of things, and I was upset

:04:23. > :04:28.But where I am now schools know how to deal with it.

:04:29. > :04:30.Our job as teachers is not just about

:04:31. > :04:32.curriculum, curriculum, curriculum, it's about building young people

:04:33. > :04:39.And that's why I've done it and I hope other teachers will see
