:00:46. > :00:48.as the contentious Israel apartheid week draws to a close,

:00:57. > :00:59.to comply with the law, to investigate and swiftly address

:01:01. > :01:10.Back in October, things got really out of hand here.
:01:11. > :01:12.The university's Friends of Israel group organised a talk
:01:13. > :01:14.from a former Israeli soldier, but didn't follow
:01:15. > :01:17.The university rejected their application, but changed their mind
:01:18. > :01:20.at the last moment on appeal, causing Palestinian supporters
:01:21. > :01:22.to accuse the University of double standards,
:01:23. > :01:31.Things got very heated, the police were called,
:01:32. > :01:34.but there were no arrests and no reports of serious violence.
:01:35. > :01:55.However, UCL's official report into the event found that:
:01:56. > :01:57.Anti-Semitism has been in the spotlight amid a reported 30%
:01:58. > :01:59.year on year increase in incidents nationally,
:02:00. > :02:01.and a doubling of incidents involving students or academics.
:02:02. > :02:03.This woman said she and her friend were targeted
:02:04. > :02:13.Two guys came to us and they tried to do something to my friend's
:02:14. > :02:17.phone, so I like stepped in the middle, between them,
:02:18. > :02:20.and the same guy, he went round me, he took my flag, my Israeli flag
:02:21. > :02:25.I wasn't provoking, it was inside my bag,
:02:26. > :02:29.and he just like, took it out, and my friend was "How dare you take
:02:30. > :02:34.They started to, like, there was almost violence,
:02:35. > :02:36.they started to walk into each other.
:02:37. > :02:39.One of the things I have agreed with the Union of Jewish Students
:02:40. > :02:42.but also with our SOAS society, is that we will review our
:02:43. > :02:44.procedures, but also do a lot more signposting,
:02:45. > :02:46.so that people who feel that there is a concern
:02:47. > :02:58.Five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder
:02:59. > :03:01.after the death of a man from stab wounds near Chelmsford.
:03:02. > :03:02.Officers were called to a property at
:03:03. > :03:05.Rettendon Common just before midnight last night and found
:03:06. > :03:10.a 19-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.
:03:11. > :03:11.This is one-year-old Sophia Elia-Schenka.
:03:12. > :03:15.To look at she's like any other toddler, but she has a rare
:03:16. > :03:18.And where life expectancy in most cases is just two years.
:03:19. > :03:21.Her parents, from Loughton, are now desperately trying to raise
:03:22. > :03:23.money for her treatment and boost public awareness
:03:24. > :03:25.of the condition, so other families won't have to face
:03:26. > :03:31.Like most 18 month olds, Sofia loves to play with her toys
:03:32. > :03:34.and read her books, but for her these things aren't
:03:35. > :03:36.easy, because she has spinal muscular atrophy type one,
:03:37. > :03:51.So her muscles don't get messages from the motor neurons,
:03:52. > :03:55.so they don't know to work and therefore they waste away.
:03:56. > :03:57.Though few people will have heard of the condition,
:03:58. > :04:00.it is the most common inherited cause of death in infants.
:04:01. > :04:03.And in 95% of case, life expectancy is under two years old.
:04:04. > :04:05.Yet despite its severity, Sofia's parents Victoria and Gee
:04:06. > :04:07.have struggled to access the treatment and
:04:08. > :04:21.We went and we started talking to the NHS about getting it
:04:22. > :04:26.At that time she was already close to one-and-a-half.
:04:27. > :04:30.Victoria and Gee told us that the NHS said they weren't
:04:31. > :04:32.eligible for a wheelchair because they live up a very
:04:33. > :04:34.narrow flight of stairs, and there is nowhere
:04:35. > :04:36.here on the ground floor for an electric wheelchair
:04:37. > :04:44.It's the most difficult thing to have to watch
:04:45. > :04:46.your child struggling with the simplest of tasks.
:04:47. > :04:48.She can't turn a page of a book, she can't pick up
:04:49. > :04:56.We contacted their local NHS, who said they do offer a range
:04:57. > :04:57.of services for children with life limiting conditions,
:04:58. > :05:00.and Epping Forest Council claimed they are trying to help,
:05:01. > :05:10.in spite of a shortage of social housing.
