:00:49. > :00:52.as the contentious Israel apartheid week draws to a close,

:00:58. > :00:59.to comply with the law, to investigate and swiftly address
:01:00. > :01:03.hate crime, including any anti-Semitic incidents
:01:04. > :01:08.Back in October, things got really out of hand here.
:01:09. > :01:12.The university's Friends of Israel group organised a talk
:01:13. > :01:14.from a former Israeli soldier, but didn't follow
:01:15. > :01:20.The university rejected their application, but changed their mind
:01:21. > :01:23.at the last moment on appeal, causing Palestinian supporters
:01:24. > :01:25.to accuse the University of double standards,
:01:26. > :01:28.Things got very heated, the police were called,
:01:29. > :01:31.but there were no arrests and no reports of serious violence.
:01:32. > :01:56.However, UCL's official report into the event found that:
:01:57. > :02:01.Anti-Semitism has been in the spotlight amid a reported 30%
:02:02. > :02:06.year on year increase in incidents nationally,
:02:07. > :02:12.and a doubling of incidents involving students or academics.
:02:13. > :02:20.One thing I have agreed is that we will review our procedure but also
:02:21. > :02:22.do a lot more sign posting, so that people who feel that there is a
:02:23. > :02:26.concern, that they know where to go. This is one-year-old
:02:27. > :02:31.Sophia Elia-Schenka. To look at she's like any other
:02:32. > :02:36.toddler, but she has a rare condition, where life expectancy
:02:37. > :02:38.in most cases is just two years. Her parents, from Loughton,
:02:39. > :02:41.are now desperately trying to raise money for her treatment and boost
:02:42. > :02:43.public awareness of the condition. Like most 18 month olds,
:02:44. > :02:54.Sofia loves to play with her toys and read her books,
:02:55. > :02:58.but for her these things aren't easy, because she has spinal
:02:59. > :03:01.muscular atrophy type one, So her muscles don't get messages
:03:02. > :03:11.from the motor neurons, so they don't know to work
:03:12. > :03:16.and therefore they waste away. Though few people will have
:03:17. > :03:21.heard of the condition, it is the most common inherited
:03:22. > :03:24.cause of death in infants. And in 95% of case, life expectancy
:03:25. > :03:29.is under two years old. Yet despite its severity,
:03:30. > :03:33.Sofia's parents Victoria and Gee have struggled to access
:03:34. > :03:36.the treatment and We went and we started talking
:03:37. > :03:42.to the NHS about getting it At that time she was already
:03:43. > :03:46.close to one-and-a-half. Victoria and Gee told us
:03:47. > :03:50.that the NHS said they weren't eligible for a wheelchair
:03:51. > :03:52.because they live up a very narrow flight of stairs,
:03:53. > :03:54.and there is nowhere here on the ground floor
:03:55. > :03:56.for an electric wheelchair It's the most difficult
:03:57. > :04:04.thing to have to watch your child struggling
:04:05. > :04:11.with the simplest of tasks. She can't turn a page
:04:12. > :04:14.of a book, she can't pick up We contacted their local NHS,
:04:15. > :04:20.who said they do offer a range of services for children with life
:04:21. > :04:22.limiting conditions, and Epping Forest Council claimed
:04:23. > :04:24.they are trying to help, in spite of a shortage
:04:25. > :04:32.of social housing. Any early cloud should clear,
