:00:25. > :00:27.after a family had acid thrown at them in north London.
:00:28. > :00:33.The 40-year-old and his wife and two-year-old son
:00:34. > :00:35.were attacked in broad daylight in Islington yesterday lunchtime.
:00:36. > :00:40.It is this spot behind me where this attack happened.
:00:41. > :00:42.It's a busy London street, lots of families around.
:00:43. > :00:45.Just behind me there's a children's play park, as well.
:00:46. > :00:47.Yesterday lunchtime at around one o'clock a family was walking here.
:00:48. > :00:50.A 40-year-old man and his 36-year-old wife, and their young
:00:51. > :00:53.son, just a toddler, two years old.
:00:54. > :00:55.Police say they were attacked by someone armed
:00:56. > :01:03.The child and woman suffered minor chemical burns but the man suffered
:01:04. > :01:08.much worse chemical burns to his hands and face.
:01:09. > :01:11.Police have described his injuries as life changing.
:01:12. > :01:15.All three victims were treated right here at the scene by paramedics
:01:16. > :01:18.and also by firefighters who we understand poured water
:01:19. > :01:21.onto their faces to try and cool the burns down.
:01:22. > :01:23.They were then taken to hospital for treatment.
:01:24. > :01:26.The woman and the toddler were released overnight,
:01:27. > :01:28.but the man remains in hospital, being treated.
:01:29. > :01:30.He hasn't got life-threatening injuries, but as I said,
:01:31. > :01:35.These type of incidents are on the increase.
:01:36. > :01:41.There were 450 last year in London, that's double the number
:01:42. > :01:45.It's too early to say what happened in this incident,
:01:46. > :01:48.in which a family was attacked in broad daylight by
:01:49. > :01:52.Police are appealing for witnesses but have not

:02:01. > :02:05.home in Hertfordshire - in which two people died.
:02:06. > :02:08.The women - aged 91 and 89 - died after fire broke out at
:02:09. > :02:13.Crews from Essex, Hertfordshire and London were sent to the care
:02:14. > :02:19.Three are still being treated in hospital.
:02:20. > :02:21.More than ?2,000 has been raised through an online fund
:02:22. > :02:24.set up to help residents in the aftermath of the tragedy.
:02:25. > :02:27.A man has died after being hit by a night bus on Oxford Street.

:02:30. > :02:30.Harewood Place at around two o'clock this morning.
:02:31. > :02:33.Police and the ambulance service were called but the pedestrian,
:02:34. > :02:37.The bus driver stopped at the scene and hasn't been arrested.
:02:38. > :02:38.A woman has been left critically injured after
:02:39. > :02:45.The 27 year old was found in Rectory Road in Hackney around
:02:46. > :02:48.She was taken to an east London hospital where she remains
:02:49. > :02:50.Police are appealing for information.
:02:51. > :02:53.Disabled patients going to two hospitals in Surrey are going to be
:02:54. > :02:57.Ashford and St Peter's hospitals trust, which charges
:02:58. > :02:59.?3.50 for two hours, says it needs to raise
:03:00. > :03:06.income to "maintain and protect patient care".
:03:07. > :03:09.But campaigners say it's going to be a huge burden for disabled patients.

:03:18. > :03:22.One thing he usually gets for free, though, is parking, but not
:03:23. > :03:24.at his local hospital from next month.
:03:25. > :03:38.It just frustrates me that disabled people are going to have to pay
:03:39. > :03:40.when we've already paid a lot of extra expenses.
:03:41. > :03:42.I have huge list of expenses caused by my disability.
:03:43. > :03:45.And I thought this was one that, no, no.
:03:46. > :03:49.The trust says that there will be exemptions for some
:03:50. > :03:51.patients if eligible, but it hopes charging blue badge
:03:52. > :03:56.In a statement the trust told us that this decision had
:03:57. > :04:07.But it had to raise income to protect patient care.
:04:08. > :04:09.It said that these plans were considered two
:04:10. > :04:17.Then, they were dropped, but it has had to do so now
:04:18. > :04:19.because the financial climate is significantly more challenging.
:04:20. > :04:26.We're in poor times, as it were, so everyone's got to pay their way.
:04:27. > :04:29.But Randy and Ingrid completely disagree.
:04:30. > :04:33.We will probably have to sell the car to pay
:04:34. > :04:37.Parking is free for blue badge holders at most hospitals
:04:38. > :04:39.but Luton and Dunstable, Darent Valley, Southend
:04:40. > :04:45.and the Royal Marsden in Sutton all charge disabled drivers to park.
:04:46. > :04:47.From the 1st of May, so will Ashford and St Peter's.
:04:48. > :04:50.Now there's a petition to try and stop the plans.
:04:51. > :04:54.Not everybody is a wealthy blue badge holder and there are some
:04:55. > :04:57.people on the petition that have signed, that have said that this
:04:58. > :05:02.But in a time when hospitals are facing financial pressures, too,
:05:03. > :05:04.it seems inevitable that choices they make may be unpopular.
