:00:48. > :00:50.residents can move back in. Stephen says he's happy to be home.

:00:51. > :00:54.Well, you know, after you've been in this block for 40 years,

:00:55. > :01:00.when you move out of a place, you feel disorientated, you know?

:01:01. > :01:10.But if it is for your own safety, well, you accept it.

:01:11. > :01:14.But some people have concerns about moving back.

:01:15. > :01:19.One couple I spoke to that didn't want to go on camera,

:01:20. > :01:24.They said they were staying in a hotel.

:01:25. > :01:26.And last night a letter was pushed under their door, saying

:01:27. > :01:29.they had to check out this morning and move back in,

:01:30. > :01:32.and if they didn't, they face paying for the hotel bill themselves.

:01:33. > :01:34.But they say they have safety concerns and they

:01:38. > :01:39.because of what happened in Grenfell, and the kids

:01:40. > :01:42.are still scared because the cladding is still on at the moment.

:01:43. > :01:45.But that issue will be addressed in about two months' time.

:01:46. > :01:48.I'm not safe in there so I'm going to move out.

:01:49. > :01:51.Have you already moved back in? I've moved in...

:01:52. > :01:56.I've moved in and I'm going to try and get a transport

:01:57. > :02:02.The council says the Fire Brigade is satisfied enough's been done

:02:03. > :02:07.for people to move back, and says it will continue to carry

:02:08. > :02:10.out work to achieve a higher standard of safety.

:02:11. > :02:14.A small digital company in London is developing a system which uses

:02:15. > :02:18.cameras to accurately recognise human faces.

:02:19. > :02:23.The idea is that it'll help keep tabs on terror suspects,

:02:24. > :02:25.and the BBC Newsnight programme has learnt that the technology

:02:26. > :02:33.The leader of the London Bridge rampage last month, Khuram Butt.

:02:34. > :02:35.On the radar as a known extremist, but not someone

:02:36. > :02:51.MI5 say there are 23,000 people on Britain's terror watch list,

:02:52. > :02:54.but now a company, Digital Barriers in Southwark, has developed a system

:02:55. > :02:56.which uses artificial intelligence techniques to identify suspects

:02:57. > :03:01.Somebody on our list has been spotted coming out of this

:03:02. > :03:04.entrance by a typical unmanned surveillance camera.

:03:05. > :03:06.And if you look at the top left-hand side of the screen,

:03:07. > :03:09.because that's registered a match, now what we see is the identity

:03:10. > :03:11.of that person that's come through that doorway.

:03:12. > :03:13.And that alert will go to the right place.

:03:14. > :03:16.And this can be one of many, many thousands of such cameras

:03:17. > :03:19.in use every single day of the week, looking for people against that

:03:43. > :03:44.few weeks, you know, should stick in our minds forever.

:03:45. > :03:47.They should not fade away. We've got to be vigilant

:03:48. > :03:50.all of the time, and mustn't And we must use the latest

:03:51. > :03:53.technology to take that But the balance between intruding

:03:54. > :03:57.in our lives and security is one We need to interrogate

:03:58. > :04:03.whether we are willing for something that can be very invasive,

:04:04. > :04:09.that can have a real impact on innocent people's

:04:10. > :04:12.freedoms every day, whether we are willing to have

:04:13. > :04:15.that installed in our society. Even the developers access advanced

:04:16. > :04:17.facial recognition will never replace conventional

:04:18. > :04:19.intelligence-gathering, but its use, if the public accepts it, opens up

:04:20. > :04:25.a whole new area in surveillance. Over 50 years after Mary Poppins's

:04:26. > :04:29.friendly chimney sweep, you know the one, Bert,

:04:30. > :04:32.played by Dick Van Dyke, Well, the actor has finally admitted

:04:54. > :04:58.for much of the morning. Some rain in the afternoon with

:04:59. > :05:01.possible thunder, but feeling warm. That's it for now.

:05:02. > :05:18.Have a very good evening. Good evening. It has been quite a

:05:19. > :05:22.day of weather today with dramatic weather in places. I will show you

:05:23. > :05:25.an interesting picture in a moment. This area of low pressure has

:05:26. > :05:29.brought sunny spells and calm weather in the far north of

:05:30. > :05:34.Scotland, and downpours and thunderstorms in the south. Look at

:05:35. > :05:41.this picture, congratulations on taking such a great picture. A

:05:42. > :05:44.marine equivalent of a tornado. The final cloud stretching into the

:05:45. > :05:45.cloud base. More final clouds on
