:00:37. > :00:47.It's the Mayor's war on London's air pollution which he is now waging

:00:48. > :00:50.with the biggest car-maker in the world.

:00:51. > :00:53.Sadiq Khan wants Volkswagen to pay ?2.5 million in what he says

:00:54. > :00:56.is unpaid congestion charge fees in the wake of the

:00:57. > :01:00.However, BBC London News can reveal that VW has said it won't be

:01:01. > :01:02.paying a single penny, something the mayor

:01:03. > :01:04.The behaviour of Volkswagen has been disgraceful.

:01:05. > :01:11.Secondly, the lack of contrition and humility from the managing

:01:12. > :01:15.They should be compensating Londoners for the money we've lost

:01:16. > :01:21.Some 80,000 Londoners bought Volkswagen vehicles fitted

:01:22. > :01:24.with the cheat devices but VW claims that even without them the cars

:01:25. > :01:28.would still be exempt from the congestion charge.

:01:29. > :01:31.In a statement VW told us: "None of the affected vehicles have

:01:32. > :01:34.had their official CO2 emissions figures amended.

:01:35. > :01:36.There is, therefore, no basis on which it can be said

:01:37. > :01:39.that Transport for London has lost any sums as a result.

:01:40. > :01:47.No sums are therefore due in compensation."

:01:48. > :01:50.I mean, that just goes to show that Volkswagen are not

:01:51. > :01:53.And, I think people should really look at

:01:54. > :01:56.Their sense of corporate social responsibility is nil.

:01:57. > :02:05.Well, with 9000 deaths in the capital each year linked

:02:06. > :02:11.with air pollution the battle is far from over for the Mayor.

:02:12. > :02:13.He's calling on the government to hold Volkswagen

:02:14. > :02:14.to account and secure a proper compensation.

:02:15. > :02:21.Doctors dealing with heart and cancer patients

:02:22. > :02:23.at St Bartolomew's Hospital are using paint brushes and

:02:24. > :02:25.colouring pens to combat stress - and avoid burn-out.

:02:26. > :02:28.It's a six-week programme, which aims to enable doctors to cope

:02:29. > :02:33.with the intense pressures of the job.

:02:52. > :02:57.It gives you the opportunity to stop ruminating on

:02:58. > :03:00.the issues of the day, and try and relax.

:03:01. > :03:04.Russell says the therapy helps him with some of the difficult

:03:05. > :03:06.emotional attachments he has to his patients.

:03:07. > :03:08.I have benefited from exploring the psychological aspects

:03:09. > :03:15.of working in cancer, such as dealing with dying patients, or

:03:16. > :03:23.The treatment is backed by hospital managers,

:03:24. > :03:25.who can see their junior doctors need support.

:03:26. > :03:28.Doctors looking after patients, particularly

:03:29. > :03:30.with cancer, they come across an enormous number of very stressful

:03:31. > :03:38.Studies done here at Barts Hospital show that 70% of

:03:39. > :03:44.cancer specialists can suffer from burn-out, and that can

:03:45. > :03:50.The idea of these art sessions is to try and intervene

:03:51. > :03:53.When we did this, we did an inventory where we

:03:54. > :03:55.were basically ranking how we felt about certain things.

:03:56. > :03:58.It was interesting to see how close to

:03:59. > :04:03.The results of the art therapy sessions

:04:04. > :04:05.have shown to reduce the

:04:06. > :04:09.levels of burn-out among junior doctors and it is hoped it can be

:04:10. > :04:17.A five-year-old girl from east London -

:04:18. > :04:19.who was fined ?150 by the local council -

:04:20. > :04:25.and issued with this ticket - for selling homemade lemonade

:04:26. > :04:28.to festival goers in Mile End- has received dozens of job offers -

:04:29. > :04:31.to set up her own stand at other events.

:04:32. > :04:34.Her family says Borough Market is among the places who've got

:04:35. > :04:38.But the girl's father says she doesn't seem that keen

:04:39. > :04:44.Passing showers for most of us through the day and feeling a bit

:05:47. > :05:49.developing in Northern Ireland, a few rural spots across western parts

:05:50. > :05:53.of the UK, dipping into single figures. And east-west split across
