0:00:22 > 0:00:24The 55-year-old lived alone in Muswell Hill.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Neighbours have described her as "a lovely lady",

0:00:26 > 0:00:30as Marc Ashdown reports.

0:00:30 > 0:00:34Described by friends as "larger than life with a heart to match".

0:00:38 > 0:00:41All day long, the flowers have been mounting up in this quiet

0:00:41 > 0:00:43residential corner of Muswell Hill, now the crime scene

0:00:43 > 0:00:47of a brutal murder.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50Fennelle was friends with Miss Burke for ten years.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52She was fun.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55She had, you know, the Irish, quite jokey, laughy.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57She liked to have a drink sometimes, have a little dance.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59She was always making me laugh.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01She used to have a little dance about.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02Very friendly, very warm and giving.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05Very giving lady.

0:01:05 > 0:01:06So pretty sad, then.

0:01:06 > 0:01:07I'm devastated.

0:01:07 > 0:01:12I absolutely feel sick to my stomach, but she's not here no more.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14It was neighbours who first raised the alarm.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17A number have told me they used to see her walking her dog up

0:01:17 > 0:01:20and down here every day, and when she didn't appear one day,

0:01:20 > 0:01:22and knowing she wasn't very well, they got concerned.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25It was neighbours, in fact, who put this ladder up

0:01:25 > 0:01:27to try and investigate, and when they couldn't find

0:01:27 > 0:01:28anything, they called police.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31They arrived, and found her body inside.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34Detectives are keeping an open mind, but at this early stage,

0:01:34 > 0:01:37it appears she was a victim of a failed burglary,

0:01:37 > 0:01:40although there were no signs of a forced entry.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42Such a lovely person.

0:01:42 > 0:01:43A real character.

0:01:43 > 0:01:44She was so funny.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46And I just can't believe this has happened to her.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48For such a lovely woman.

0:01:48 > 0:01:49It's a quiet area.

0:01:49 > 0:01:50Looks like a nice area.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53This is one of the quietest streets you'll get in this area.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55It's a lovely, quiet street, so everybody is in total shock,

0:01:55 > 0:01:57and everybody is a bit nervous as well.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59Police are expected to make a formal identification tomorrow.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02No arrests have been made.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04They are still appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07Mark Ashdown, BBC London News.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10A student who was jailed in the United Arab Emirates on drugs

0:02:10 > 0:02:12charges has been freed after a three-year

0:02:12 > 0:02:15campaign for his release.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Ahmad Zeidan - who was studying in Dubai -

0:02:17 > 0:02:20was arrested along with several other young men, when a small amount

0:02:20 > 0:02:22of cocaine was found in their car.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25The 22-year-old from Reading says he was forced to sign a confession

0:02:25 > 0:02:27after being tortured - claims denied by authorities there.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31His father Manal said his son was freed after a £4,000 fine was paid.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33Hundreds of Coptic Christians have gathered in Hertfordshire

0:02:33 > 0:02:35for a special event to mark a new chapter in the

0:02:35 > 0:02:37life of their church.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39The religion has its roots in Egypt, where today,

0:02:39 > 0:02:41members face persecution.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43But here in London, its community is growing.

0:02:43 > 0:02:50Thomas Magill reports.

0:02:50 > 0:02:52Making history at the enthronement of the first Coptic

0:02:52 > 0:02:58Christian Bishop of London.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00Bishop Angaelos is no stranger to London, having led

0:03:00 > 0:03:04the Copts here since 1999.

0:03:04 > 0:03:07And now he says the creation of a new diocese will help him

0:03:07 > 0:03:09unite its seven parishes and make their growing

0:03:09 > 0:03:13congregation stronger.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16Like many parishes anywhere in the world, they become islands.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19When they're bound together as a diocese they have a unified

0:03:19 > 0:03:21identity, and that allows them to bring their own strengths,

0:03:21 > 0:03:27but also compensate each other's weaknesses.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30St George's Cathedral in Stevenage was full for the celebration,

0:03:30 > 0:03:31with worshippers happy about what the appointment means

0:03:31 > 0:03:37for the future of their church.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40He has this drive and this ambition, knows how to draw young

0:03:40 > 0:03:42people to the church.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46It's something to look forward to for the next generation.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49And all this a far cry from life for Coptic Christians

0:03:49 > 0:03:52in the Middle East.

0:03:52 > 0:03:54Dozens have been killed this year after Coptic Christian churches

0:03:54 > 0:04:00and homes were bombed by suspected IS militants in Egypt.

0:04:00 > 0:04:01Bishop Angaelos says there's challenges for Christians

0:04:01 > 0:04:04in the West too, and now the celebrations are over,

0:04:04 > 0:04:13he's looking forward to getting on with the job.

0:04:13 > 0:04:18And now a look at the weather, with Sara Thornton.

0:04:18 > 0:04:19Good evening.

0:04:19 > 0:04:21It's been a pretty chilly evening across London,

0:04:21 > 0:04:23temperatures down close to freezing under clear skies,

0:04:23 > 0:04:25but change on the way at the moment.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28We've got some cloud pushing towards us from the west through the night,

0:04:28 > 0:04:30bits and pieces of rain first thing and temperatures rising

0:04:30 > 0:04:32all the while as the south-westerly wind sets in.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Maybe a bit of drizzle in the afternoon, fairly cloudy,

0:04:35 > 0:04:36certainly feeling very different than today,

0:04:36 > 0:04:37highs of 13 degrees.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Today, we saw just seven and eight Celsius.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42And milder still for the middle part of the week, perhaps the mid-teens.

0:04:42 > 0:04:44Often dry, often cloudy, and windy too.

0:04:44 > 0:04:45That's it.

0:04:45 > 0:04:47We're back with breakfast bulletins tomorrow morning.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49From all of us here, good night.
