:00:13. > :00:18.Hello. Supporters of hunting have been gathering across the region

:00:18. > :00:23.for their traditional Boxing Day meet. At Fakenham in Norfolk, there

:00:23. > :00:25.were calls for the ban on hunting with dogs to be repealed. It comes

:00:25. > :00:31.after the Agriculture Minister and South East Cambridgeshire MP James

:00:31. > :00:39.Paice said the ban wasn't working. Centuries-old, countryside

:00:39. > :00:44.tradition? Or outdated cruelty? You might have thought this debate was

:00:44. > :00:50.over when the ban on hunting with dogs was introduced. Now it is back.

:00:50. > :00:53.James Paice wants to repeal the ban and has plenty of support. This

:00:53. > :00:57.Norfolk MP says the ban is not working and a code of conduct

:00:57. > :01:06.should be introduced instead. is not about a right-wing issue,

:01:06. > :01:09.not about wealth. It is about a traditional people in the

:01:09. > :01:13.countryside who love their country sports and hunt and want to be free

:01:13. > :01:17.to live in the countryside the way we love to. But other MPs from this

:01:17. > :01:23.region say repealing the ban should be simply out of the question.

:01:23. > :01:26.hunting is something largely barbaric. What we have is a few

:01:26. > :01:31.people's pleasure to hunt an animal to exhaustion and then see it torn

:01:31. > :01:34.to pieces. It is good we can put that in the history books. It has

:01:34. > :01:43.been described as barbaric and cruel, but those here say the

:01:43. > :01:47.practice is misunderstood. I do not think it is cruelty, it is politics.

:01:47. > :01:57.I hunt twice a week or wherever I am on Boxing Day. It is a British

:01:57. > :02:00.and English edition. Today this hunt was well within the law. It

:02:00. > :02:04.followed a centred trail. The coalition agreement has promised a

:02:04. > :02:08.free vote for MPs on this issue. Once again, the tradition of the

:02:08. > :02:11.hunt is turning into a divisive debate.

:02:11. > :02:14.Prince Philip missed the Royal Family's annual Boxing Day shoot on

:02:14. > :02:17.the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk as he faces a fourth night in

:02:17. > :02:24.hospital. The Duke of Edinburgh is currently in Papworth Hospital near

:02:24. > :02:28.Cambridge. He's said to be comfortable. He had a stent fitted

:02:28. > :02:31.after experiencing chest pains. A woman was rescued from a house

:02:31. > :02:34.fire in Benfleet in Essex after becoming trapped upstairs by the

:02:34. > :02:39.flames. Three engines were called out on Christmas night to the

:02:39. > :02:42.property in the High Road. Operators at the Essex Fire Service

:02:42. > :02:46.control room stayed on the phone, persuading her not to jump out of a

:02:46. > :02:50.window as crews were on their way. They eventually led the woman down

:02:50. > :02:53.on a ladder. Bargain hunters have been out in

:02:53. > :02:59.their thousands at shops across the East today. In Milton Keynes,

:02:59. > :03:01.people queued from one o'clock this morning for Boxing Day sales. The

:03:01. > :03:04.main shopping centre there says business have been strong right

:03:04. > :03:11.through the holiday period. We had 2000 guests waiting around the

:03:11. > :03:16.stores at 6 o'clock in the morning. 10,000 guests in the first hour.

:03:16. > :03:20.That is an improvement on last year. We had a very strong last week of

:03:20. > :03:26.Christmas. A lot of stores went into sale early, with great

:03:26. > :03:30.23rd December was the biggest trading day so far on record. It

:03:30. > :03:33.has been a strong Christmas. On to football. Most of our teams

:03:33. > :03:37.were in action this afternoon. In the Championship, Ipswich drew at

:03:37. > :03:40.Leicester. Peterborough snatched three points at Nottingham Forest.

:03:40. > :03:43.In League One, Colchester were at the receiving end of a 6-1

:03:43. > :03:47.thrashing at home to Stevenage. MK Dons scored an impressive away win

:03:47. > :03:51.at Leyton Orient. And in League Two, Southend's game against Aldershot

:03:51. > :03:55.was abandoned at half time due to floodlight failure. Northampton

:03:55. > :04:02.went down 2-3 against Burton Albion at Sixfields. Norwich host

:04:03. > :04:05.Tottenham tomorrow evening. Let's take a look at the weather.

:04:05. > :04:10.Tonight, it will remain mostly cloudy, dry and mild with some

:04:10. > :04:12.clear intervals. Lowest temperature 8 celsius. Tomorrow, it will
