:00:15. > :00:19.Good evening. Extra police on patrol along the A 14 this evening

:00:19. > :00:23.after yet another car was hit by stones thrown from a bridge. The

:00:24. > :00:29.latest incident happened just north of Newmarket. Nobody was heard this

:00:29. > :00:34.time but it is the 7th case of its time -- of its type in the region

:00:34. > :00:39.this month. One small lives have been put at risk. This time a man

:00:39. > :00:46.from Norfolk driving a friend to Cambridge to catch a train. It was

:00:46. > :00:51.at 4:15pm yesterday, his car hit by stones. The windscreens smashed,

:00:51. > :00:54.they escaped unharmed. It is the latest in a series of similar

:00:54. > :00:59.incidents this month. On the 1st December a concrete block was

:00:59. > :01:04.thrown from a bridge on the a 12 in Essex, 30 minutes later, a woman

:01:04. > :01:10.was badly injured. The block of concrete going through her car

:01:10. > :01:15.windscreen. A former later rocks were held at drivers on the a 14 at

:01:15. > :01:20.St Mary. Then three more instance in Suffolk, a car, an ambulance and

:01:20. > :01:25.three more lorries were damaged. Police say they could be dealing

:01:25. > :01:31.with copycat incidents. There has been a lot of publicity, regionally

:01:31. > :01:36.and nationally. Incredible as it sounds, it may be that some people

:01:36. > :01:40.have thought it is a good idea and are doing something of a copycat

:01:40. > :01:46.nature. It could have been catastrophic in terms of

:01:46. > :01:49.consequences. Police have stepped up patrols in terms of market and

:01:49. > :01:53.unmarked police cars and a helicopter. They have tried to

:01:53. > :01:57.establish a profile of likely offenders by examining the times

:01:57. > :02:01.and places where the incidence take place. Above all, they need

:02:01. > :02:11.intelligence, information from the public. They say if they see anyone

:02:11. > :02:14.acting suspiciously on bridges, they should dial 999 immediately.

:02:14. > :02:18.Two people are being held by Cambridgeshire police in connection

:02:18. > :02:24.with a death of a man in Chittering. Officers announced yesterday a man

:02:24. > :02:28.was arrested. Today it emerged they have also picked up a 21 year-old

:02:28. > :02:33.woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.

:02:33. > :02:37.100 jobs could be created by an engineering firm in Lowestoft, they

:02:37. > :02:41.have won a multi-million pound contract to build accommodation rig

:02:41. > :02:46.for oil workers. It marks a major turnaround for the company which

:02:46. > :02:52.went into administration last year. Retail analysts are warning it will

:02:52. > :02:56.be another tough year for our shops. With that in mind, we have been

:02:56. > :03:05.focusing on trade in the centre in Milton Keynes, we were last there

:03:05. > :03:10.three days before Christmas. How has trade been since then?

:03:10. > :03:18.Everywhere you look, the signs are calling out to you. Do you want

:03:18. > :03:24.something shiny? Whatever it is, the signs are clear. Chances are it

:03:24. > :03:29.is on sale. But is anyone buying? Being a bit more careful, not as

:03:29. > :03:33.mad as previous years but still enjoying the sales. So spending

:03:33. > :03:38.more at Christmas and more in the sales. More bargains if you look

:03:38. > :03:44.carefully enough. Those are the shoppers, and there was certainly a

:03:44. > :03:49.steady stream of them today. But what about our retailers?

:03:49. > :03:54.Discounted, devalued, depressing. That was last week, has anything

:03:55. > :04:00.changed? It has been quite robust so far. Post-Christmas sales can

:04:00. > :04:05.never make up for money lost before Christmas, before Christmas you

:04:05. > :04:10.hope to sell at full price and make a good profit. After Christmas you

:04:10. > :04:16.are selling just to get cash in. Last week John Lewis saw a surge in

:04:16. > :04:21.shoppers after a sluggish start. The autumn weather meant a slow

:04:21. > :04:27.start, but that has continued into Christmas. With clearance under way,

:04:27. > :04:31.it has not been better. Milton Keynes was incredibly busy. I have

:04:31. > :04:36.never seen so many shoppers in our shop. The things might be picking

:04:36. > :04:44.up, but will the road signs be enough to help the Return to stay

:04:44. > :04:48.out of the red? I onto football, nearly 27,000

:04:48. > :04:54.people were at Carrow Road last night, Norwich lost 2-0 to Spurs,

:04:54. > :05:00.but remain 11th in the table. Boxing Day Plus One, the visitors

:05:00. > :05:05.riding on the coat-tails of the Manchester two. On an unseasonally

:05:05. > :05:10.warm night, Spurs showed what they could do from the start. Gareth

:05:10. > :05:14.Bale running feet rejig to Norwich back four ragged. Gareth Bale would

:05:14. > :05:19.not be denied after the break, he found the net 10 minutes in after

:05:19. > :05:24.some nifty footwork from Emmanuel Adebayor. 10 minutes later, Gareth

:05:24. > :05:29.Bale looked on to Luka Modric's through-ball, to spend 45 yards

:05:29. > :05:32.before lifting the Macgregor over John Ruddy. No way back for Norwich,

:05:32. > :05:40.who did not see enough of the Macgregor on the night to pay

:05:40. > :05:45.something together. We gave it everything we had, but the goals

:05:45. > :05:50.were disappointing. I cannot fault the effort we showed. A Norwich

:05:50. > :05:54.have done great, Paul Lambert has done a great job. If they stay in

:05:54. > :05:59.the league this year, it will be a fantastic achievement. They have a

:05:59. > :06:04.great chance. Norwich are 11th and looking good on their return to the

:06:04. > :06:09.Premier League. At this stage last season blackball had four points

:06:09. > :06:19.more and still went down. Much more to do and three points at home to

:06:19. > :06:19.

:06:20. > :06:23.Fulham would do very nicely. -- Remark a blue mud across Christmas

:06:23. > :06:29.and the theme for the next few days as long similar lines. Rain at

:06:29. > :06:34.times but nothing in the way of the white stuff. Mod except for the

:06:34. > :06:37.next 24 hours. Quite a deep area of low pressure over Scotland, win

:06:37. > :06:42.smoothing down towards us. It seems it will be quite a chilly night

:06:42. > :06:45.tonight. Clear skies for the most part, showers over the western

:06:46. > :06:50.region. Cloud flooding back in from the West, by the end of the night

:06:50. > :06:57.temperatures down to two or three degrees Celsius, around 37

:06:57. > :07:01.Fahrenheit. No frost tonight, Prees moderate, quite fresh. It will be a

:07:01. > :07:05.cold end to the night. The theme will be continued tomorrow, they

:07:05. > :07:09.rather blustery day, areas of cloud coming through. A few fleeting

:07:09. > :07:13.showers, most of them will be moving through rather quickly. By

:07:13. > :07:17.the middle of the day temperatures will be at their best, six or seven

:07:17. > :07:22.degrees Celsius, three or four degrees down on what experience

:07:22. > :07:26.today. A moderate, fresh breeze in land. Gale force at times around

:07:26. > :07:30.the coast. For the next few days, on Friday, in the afternoon we

:07:30. > :07:36.should see things moving away, then it is a case of Friday being rather

:07:36. > :07:39.cloudy, tempt a similar to tomorrow, Saturday promising. As we move into

:07:39. > :07:43.the new year it is looking reasonably mild, temperatures of

:07:43. > :07:46.around eight or nine degrees. Then temperatures dipping down to
