:00:14. > :00:16.Hello. First tonight, on one of the most significant days in the
:00:16. > :00:22.Christian calendar, disaffected Anglicans in this region are
:00:22. > :00:24.leaving the Church of England. Look East has learned how two dozen
:00:25. > :00:29.members of just one congregation in Essex joined the Catholic Church
:00:29. > :00:36.this week. This latest breakaway comes as the Church of England
:00:36. > :00:39.faces growing divisions over issues like the creation of women bishops.
:00:39. > :00:43.For the last three years, the Church of St Mary Magdalene has
:00:43. > :00:48.been the centre of John Corbyn's life. His name is still on the sign,
:00:48. > :00:55.but he has moved on. A Church of England vicar for 13 years, he was
:00:55. > :01:01.at his new spiritual home today. The Catholic Church of the
:01:01. > :01:09.assumption. It was in decoration two Good Friday. They were received
:01:09. > :01:13.and confirmed into the Catholic Church. -- to mark Good Friday. He
:01:13. > :01:18.is now training to become a Catholic priest. So why this big
:01:18. > :01:22.decision? I suppose the way the Church of England has been going in
:01:22. > :01:27.the past years. It has meant that one questions one's membership of
:01:27. > :01:31.it. It is far more positive than negative. It is about what one is
:01:31. > :01:35.joining, not what one is leaving. The way we have been welcomed is
:01:35. > :01:42.absolutely incredible. People have been so generous and warm in their
:01:42. > :01:48.welcome. We all admire them, really, for their bravery. In undertaking
:01:48. > :01:55.this journey. But we understand, of course, it is because of the faith
:01:55. > :02:00.they have now embraced. This weekend, as they have for centuries,
:02:00. > :02:02.pilgrims make their way to the shrines at Walsingham in Norfolk.
:02:02. > :02:12.The Church of England aware its direction is turning a growing
:02:12. > :02:14.
:02:14. > :02:17.number of worshippers away. respect people's conscience. That
:02:17. > :02:20.is fundamental to the Christian tradition. I believe people who
:02:20. > :02:26.make that journey have thought and prayed about it. And told by the
:02:26. > :02:30.Lord to do so. It is a journey they feel they have to make.
:02:30. > :02:34.And to be in communion with the Pope. A final debate on the issue
:02:34. > :02:42.of women bishops is expected in July. A vote in favour is likely to
:02:42. > :02:44.The Norfolk-based sports car manufacturer Group Lotus has
:02:44. > :02:48.withdrawn all cash sponsorship for its brand partner of the Lotus
:02:48. > :02:55.Formula 1 team. The F1 deal was worth a reported 100 million. Alex
:02:55. > :02:58.Dunlop has been following the story. How significant is this? To be
:02:59. > :03:04.clear, Lotus F1 and Group Lotus are two completely separate outfits.
:03:04. > :03:08.They have been linked until now by this sponsorship deal. Group Lotus
:03:08. > :03:12.is famous for its famous sports cars. These are manufactured at its
:03:13. > :03:18.plant. It reportedly paid 100 million over seven years to have
:03:18. > :03:23.its brand splashed across F1 cars. But no more, it seems. Its new
:03:23. > :03:31.parent company has pulled the plug on that deal. And on other
:03:31. > :03:34.sponsorship deals grope Lotus had. -- Group Lotus. I think we can draw
:03:34. > :03:38.two headlines from this. First that the Malaysian parent company feels
:03:38. > :03:43.this is not an avenue it wants to go down. And Group Lotus are
:03:43. > :03:51.struggling. Like many others in the motoring industry. If you want to
:03:51. > :03:56.save money quickly, sponsorship is the easy way. I think there are new
:03:56. > :04:00.managers involved. And the snow longer fits the plan. The Formula 1
:04:00. > :04:07.team and Group Lotus have decided to go their separate ways. The
:04:07. > :04:13.Formula 1 team will now look for new sponsors. What does this mean
:04:13. > :04:17.for Group Lotus? They told us that there is no longer a financial
:04:17. > :04:21.arrangement between Group Lotus and the F1 team. The Norfolk firm
:04:21. > :04:31.itself is struggling. It has had to cut production at its factory. It
:04:31. > :04:31.
:04:31. > :04:34.says jobs are not under threat. Thanked you very much. -- thank you.
:04:34. > :04:37.A man has been charged after a crash in Essex in which three
:04:37. > :04:40.people, including two police officers, were injured. A police
:04:40. > :04:43.car was in a collision with three other vehicles on the A414 in
:04:43. > :04:45.Danbury yesterday. A 20-year-old man has been charged with car theft
:04:45. > :04:47.and will appear before Chelmsford Magistrates tomorrow.
:04:48. > :04:51.Five people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after
:04:51. > :04:54.a man was stabbed in Ipswich. The man was found with serious stab
:04:54. > :04:57.wounds after a disturbance at a property in Witney Close just
:04:57. > :04:59.before five this morning. Three women and two men were arrested at
:04:59. > :05:02.the scene. Bedfordshire's Victoria Pendleton
:05:02. > :05:05.has won gold on day three of the World Track Cycling Championships
:05:05. > :05:10.in Melbourne. It was a dramatic morning for her in the women's
:05:10. > :05:12.sprint. She had a painful end to the first of her three rides
:05:12. > :05:16.against her Australian semi-final opponent. But the 31-year-old got
:05:16. > :05:23.back in the saddle for the second and third race to eventually win 2-
:05:23. > :05:25.Onto football now. In League One, Colchester drew 1-1 at home to
:05:25. > :05:28.Hartlepool this afternoon. Stevenage were beaten 3-0 at
:05:28. > :05:31.Tranmere. And in League Two, Southend were 2-0 losers at
:05:31. > :05:36.Bradford. Northampton versus Oxford United has just kicked off. The
:05:36. > :05:43.score is 0-0. Full coverage of that game is on BBC Radio Northampton.
:05:43. > :05:49.Now for a look at the weather. Be after a sunny start to Easter
:05:49. > :05:52.weekend, it looks fairly cloudy with no chance of rain.
:05:52. > :06:00.Most of the rain out there now it is light and patchy, drizzle in
:06:00. > :06:07.places, but lingering this evening and overnight. We should not be
:06:07. > :06:12.bothered by frost, low temperatures no lower. Some patchy rain clearing
:06:12. > :06:16.first thing tomorrow, gradually becoming drier. Maybe brighter in
:06:16. > :06:22.the North of the region. Temperatures climbing to about nine
:06:23. > :06:27.Celsius, but feeling chilly in an north-easterly wind. It will
:06:27. > :06:32.brighten up through the North into the South. Clear skies over night
:06:33. > :06:40.mean frost tomorrow night. Looking ahead, a significant rainfall on
:06:40. > :06:45.Monday, courtesy of a weather front right across us. Tight isobars
:06:46. > :06:52.indicating strong winds for Monday. That is the most significant
:06:52. > :06:59.rainfall. It looks damp, but becoming drier tomorrow, cloudy in
:06:59. > :07:05.to Sunday, but light rain. Monday will get heavy rain. The wind speed
:07:05. > :07:14.will start to increase through Monday. Into Tuesday and Wednesday,
