:00:08. > :00:11.In Look East tonight, still running for England. Lord Coe makes a run
:00:11. > :00:19.for it as the Olympics bandwagon rolls into this region.
:00:19. > :00:21.Hello from Susie and me. Also tonight... Exactly a week after a
:00:21. > :00:25.multi-million pound raid on this Cambridge museum, police stage an
:00:25. > :00:30.operation to find more clues. It is Paris to London via
:00:30. > :00:34.Peterborough on two wheels. Iron Woman Chrissey makes it look easy.
:00:34. > :00:44.And if you are out and about this weekend, will you be needing one of
:00:44. > :00:49.
:00:49. > :00:53.Hello. The Look East region got a taste of things to come today. The
:00:53. > :00:57.Olympics bandwagon rolled into town for the first time. But it was just
:00:57. > :01:01.a dress rehearsal. The torch relay convoy set off from
:01:01. > :01:04.Leicester at breakfast time this morning. It moved village by
:01:04. > :01:07.village until it reached Peterborough. The torch itself was
:01:07. > :01:10.carried by student volunteers. The whole thing was designed to help
:01:11. > :01:20.the organisers get ready for the real thing. Shaun Peel is in
:01:20. > :01:24.Peterborough now. I am in the heart of Peterborough,
:01:24. > :01:33.where the torch will end up on July the. There was a rehearsal between
:01:33. > :01:40.Leicester and Peterborough. -- 3rd July. It would help look at how you
:01:40. > :01:44.people will deal with challenges. 12 hours a day in the light of the
:01:44. > :01:54.torture started with jazzman just after 7 O Clock and will then
:01:54. > :01:55.
:01:55. > :02:02.finish in Peterborough. -- the life of the torch. Lord Coe had to leg
:02:02. > :02:09.it because of some problems. I know my local knowledge so well, because
:02:09. > :02:14.I have ran around his campus, just taking a short cut. There was a
:02:14. > :02:21.mixture of whether testing an air of the man plotting the route
:02:21. > :02:26.through this region. It is a testing challenge. Peterborough
:02:26. > :02:32.council have worked hard for us, looking at a traffic management, so
:02:32. > :02:39.it has been a real partnership and will hopefully be successful.
:02:39. > :02:43.travelled 80 miles to Peterborough today. In Ipswich, we have the
:02:44. > :02:50.flame up travelling by boat, an exchange from a speedboat on to a
:02:50. > :02:56.yacht, which will be important. And we have it travelling on a punt in
:02:56. > :03:03.Cambridge, so seeing how the flame travels on alternative methods of
:03:03. > :03:08.transport, that is important and good learning. Lord Coe getting
:03:08. > :03:16.caught in a road block aside, it left in one piece, but arrived in
:03:16. > :03:22.one piece. The torch is on its way to
:03:22. > :03:27.Peterborough, wending its way through the streets of this city.
:03:27. > :03:36.These are the first pictures when it first arrived in this region. It
:03:36. > :03:41.then got on a train. It went from Wandsworth station to Peterborough.
:03:41. > :03:46.On the platform, it made its way from Peterborough and should be
:03:46. > :03:53.with us in half-an-hour. With me is Annette Joyce, one of the
:03:53. > :03:58.organisers. You must be very excited? It has been wonderful, and
:03:58. > :04:06.letting us test procedures. We have learned how to do this by the best
:04:07. > :04:10.way possible. And from you, I lot to learn as well? Absolutely, a
:04:11. > :04:17.one-off opportunity to welcome everyone to Peterborough and see
:04:17. > :04:23.how beautiful Peterborough really is. And an opportunity to put
:04:23. > :04:29.Peterborough on the map, which you are grasping. Absolutely, which is
:04:29. > :04:34.why we are keen to have them. you very much. It will be in
:04:34. > :04:41.Peterborough for real on July the third. It will be in Norwich and
:04:41. > :04:46.Ipswich afterwards. Then Cambridge, Luton, then leaving the region
:04:46. > :04:50.through Milton Keynes and we will cover that all the way.
:04:50. > :04:55.Thank you very much. There were some sound problems with that
:04:56. > :04:58.report. We apologise. Police officers are tonight
:04:58. > :05:00.stationed outside a museum in Cambridge, exactly one week after
:05:01. > :05:04.raiders broke in and stole art treasures worth millions. The
:05:04. > :05:07.police are hoping to speak to people who were in the area at the
:05:08. > :05:09.time of the theft. Alex Dunlop sent has this report just a short while
:05:09. > :05:15.ago. Exactly one week ago this evening
:05:15. > :05:19.at 7:30pm, it is not a gang of up to four people broke into this
:05:19. > :05:26.world-famous museum, stealing a number of Chinese jade pieces worth
:05:26. > :05:31.millions. One piece was a sculpture poll above all, thought to be worth
:05:32. > :05:39.1 million alone, suggesting the thieves knew what they were looking
:05:39. > :05:46.for. -- a sculpture of above the law. They were only there for a few
:05:46. > :05:51.minutes before escaping. We have many officers on this since it took
:05:51. > :05:57.place and it is a priority, not least because of the value of the
:05:57. > :06:04.property stolen and its complexity. Roger is an art historian and runs
:06:05. > :06:10.a gallery in London. How significant is this loss? It is a
:06:10. > :06:14.significant and tragic loss. One of them is a very significant piece
:06:14. > :06:21.and we hope it is recovered soon. Would these have been stolen to
:06:21. > :06:25.order? There is always that possibility, but that may be
:06:25. > :06:30.speculation. This saleable value is not great in this sense it will
:06:30. > :06:37.always be known and published and could not be resold on the Open
:06:37. > :06:44.market. I know that Lord Nelson memorabilia was also stolen from a
:06:44. > :06:51.recent museum. R our Museum has a soft target? Security in museums
:06:51. > :06:56.always needs checking. -- our museums in this region as soft
:06:56. > :07:02.target? I do not think the unnecessarily as soft target, I
:07:02. > :07:12.think this is just the increase in value of Chinese art.

:23:02. > :23:07.Sunday's Marathon, share your photos with us. The best way is to
:23:07. > :23:17.send them by email. The address is look.east@bbc.co.uk. Good luck if
:23:17. > :23:22.you are taking part. Now for the You are looking rather different.
:23:22. > :23:28.Just a slight change of image. Opinion has been divided.
:23:28. > :23:34.Today, another day of heavy thundery showers. Some places
:23:34. > :23:39.getting dry weather. He is a picture of some hail. When we get
:23:39. > :23:45.thundery showers, sometime -- sometimes we get funnel clouds. He
:23:45. > :23:51.is a picture of one from Louis the Greengrass. Thank you for that. --
:23:51. > :23:56.Lewis Greengrass. On the whole for the whole month, we would expect 45
:23:56. > :24:00.millimetres on average of rain. But you will see that a number of
:24:00. > :24:07.locations, particularly in the north, have exceeded that. Not
:24:07. > :24:13.quite up to 45 in Essex yet, but there is still ten days to go. What
:24:13. > :24:19.does this mean for the drought? We are no long term situation, so this
:24:19. > :24:24.will not reverse things, but is a step in the right direction. Low
:24:24. > :24:28.pressure right over us today, which is causing these intense
:24:29. > :24:33.thunderstorms. Looking at the satellite, you can see shower
:24:33. > :24:39.clouds gathered. The rate that chart shows some pretty intense
:24:39. > :24:46.showers. Some places escaped and got some sunshine. Quite a lot
:24:46. > :24:52.around. These pictures are from an hour and gold. Some further showers
:24:52. > :24:57.this evening, possibly fading overnight. We could get some misty
:24:57. > :25:02.conditions with dampness around. Clearing skies might just get down
:25:02. > :25:06.to around four Celsius. We should stay free of ground frost with
:25:06. > :25:13.these values. Winds should generally be light and tonne
:25:13. > :25:17.westerly through the night. Tomorrow is a carbon copy of today.
:25:17. > :25:22.Starting with early sunshine, then shower clouds gathering. The
:25:22. > :25:27.potential for some heavy and thundery showers into that
:25:27. > :25:32.afternoon. Temperatures climbing into double figures. The winds will
:25:32. > :25:39.be alight north-westerly, a hazard of that meaning showers will be
:25:39. > :25:43.slow-moving. If you catch showers, you might be stuck under a downpour.
:25:43. > :25:51.The risk of heavy showers through the afternoon. The picture stays
:25:51. > :25:59.the same. We still have low pressure looking ahead. That is
:25:59. > :26:04.more potential for big showers. For the marathon, it looks like heavy
:26:04. > :26:08.showers still around. And lengthy periods of rain on Monday. Further
:26:08. > :26:12.showers on Tuesday. And some temperatures low enough for a
:26:12. > :26:17.ground frost. We appear to have had some
