:00:14. > :00:17.First tonight, weather warnings have been issued for gale force winds and

:00:18. > :00:21.heavy downpours. Ten millimetres of rain is expected to fall overnight

:00:22. > :00:24.on already saturated ground. And wind speeds could reach up to 70

:00:25. > :00:27.miles per hour. Earlier this evening, rail passengers on Greater

:00:28. > :00:32.Anglia were warned of disruption and in Suffolk the Orwell Bridge has

:00:33. > :00:36.just closed. In a moment, we'll have the latest on the travel situation.

:00:37. > :00:38.But first, this report from John Cranston.

:00:39. > :00:42.Battling home through the rain on the A12 in Essex this evening as the

:00:43. > :00:45.storm approached. Both Queen Elizabeth Bridge over the Thames and

:00:46. > :00:50.the Orwell Bridge over Ipswich have closed as wind speeds increase. On

:00:51. > :00:55.the trains, Greater Anglia urged people to travel early.

:00:56. > :00:59.Just getting there early, first come first serve.

:01:00. > :01:02.I was meant to be going to London but I haven't gone because of the

:01:03. > :01:04.weather just in case I couldn't get back.

:01:05. > :01:08.Commuters faced lengthy delays after a man was hit by a train. In

:01:09. > :01:11.Hertfordshire, people living in Puckeridge try to dry out their

:01:12. > :01:16.homes after the last bout of flooding, hoping the latest one

:01:17. > :01:19.won't bring more. In Luton, a desperate attempt to stop the pitch

:01:20. > :01:21.getting waterlogged in the hope that tomorrow's football match can go

:01:22. > :01:24.ahead. We've had a couple of postponements

:01:25. > :01:29.through waterlogged pitches and we just want to play football so we

:01:30. > :01:33.resorted to bringing in this cover. The River Chelmer in Essex was in

:01:34. > :01:38.spate today. It seems the immediate threat is not just more water but

:01:39. > :01:47.the ferocity of those winds. Dawn Gerber is in our newsroom now.

:01:48. > :01:52.What's the latest on the trains? There hasn't been as much disruption

:01:53. > :01:56.as originally thought as many passengers took the advice and

:01:57. > :01:59.travelled home early. There will be a reduced service across parts of

:02:00. > :02:05.the network tomorrow because of the high winds. Commuters should check

:02:06. > :02:09.with the real And what about our roads and airports?

:02:10. > :02:19.Operators before travelling. The police are warning people not to

:02:20. > :02:28.travel unless they have two. There are delays on the A120. Luton

:02:29. > :02:34.airport is warning of disruption and a handful of flights have been

:02:35. > :02:38.cancelled at Stansted Airport. The worst of the weather is expected

:02:39. > :02:42.from midnight tonight to 4am. The best thing is to listen to your

:02:43. > :02:45.local BBC Radio station for more information.

:02:46. > :02:48.Serial killer Joanna Dennehy appeared at Cambridge Crown Court

:02:49. > :02:51.today for the beginning of her sentencing hearing. In the dock

:02:52. > :02:55.alongside her were the three men who helped her. At one point Dennehy

:02:56. > :02:58.told the court she was not sorry for having killed three men.

:02:59. > :03:01.This was the first time Joanna Dennehy had been seen in court since

:03:02. > :03:04.she pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey last November to the three murders

:03:05. > :03:09.in Peterborough and two attempted murders in Hereford. Brought to

:03:10. > :03:11.Cambridge to record the sentencing hearing, the serial killer's

:03:12. > :03:17.barrister said his client's offending was at the high`end of the

:03:18. > :03:21.criminal scale. The court was told she accepted she acted in a volatile

:03:22. > :03:26.way from time to time and that she acknowledged that she manipulated

:03:27. > :03:31.men around her. Her barrister said it was her case that she was not in

:03:32. > :03:34.sexual relationships with the men. She stabbed to death her friend

:03:35. > :03:38.Lukasz Slaboszewski, housemate John Chapman, and landlord Kevin Lee, who

:03:39. > :03:41.she made where a black dress shortly before he died. And then

:03:42. > :03:48.unexpectedly, Joanna spoke about victim Kevin Lee. In a raised voice

:03:49. > :03:52.she said there was no sexual interference. "It is hearsay, I was

:03:53. > :03:56.quick to assault him in a dress, I did put him in a dress, it was

:03:57. > :04:02.humiliation, pure and simple. There was nothing sexual about it." Then,

:04:03. > :04:06.just as she was leaving the court in handcuffs, there was a second

:04:07. > :04:09.outburst. In the presence of her victim's relatives she said, I want

:04:10. > :04:13.to make everyone to know I'm sorry for the attempted murders but I'm

:04:14. > :04:21.not sorry for the murders. Sentencing will be later this month

:04:22. > :04:24.at the Old Bailey. An inquest jury has returned a

:04:25. > :04:28.verdict of accidental death on four men who were killed when a steel

:04:29. > :04:31.cage they were working inside collapsed on top of them. Two

:04:32. > :04:34.brothers from Suffolk Daniel and Tom Hazelton, Peter Johnson and Adam

:04:35. > :04:44.Taylor died at Claxton Engineering in Great Yarmouth three years ago.

:04:45. > :04:50.This is the steel cage which collapsed killing four men in

:04:51. > :04:55.January 2011. It was going to reinforce a concrete base for

:04:56. > :05:02.pressure testing at Claxton engineering in Great Yarmouth.

:05:03. > :05:08.Daniel and his younger brother Tom died in the accident with Peter

:05:09. > :05:16.Johnson and Adam Taylor. The men had been sub contracted from another

:05:17. > :05:22.firm. They died at the scene from traumatic asphyxia. A solicitor read

:05:23. > :05:28.out a statement on behalf of the family. We will never be able to

:05:29. > :05:30.come to terms with our devastating loss.

:05:31. > :05:35.Four men went to work that day and never came home. The evidence

:05:36. > :05:39.clearly showed that the men were conscientious and skilled workers

:05:40. > :05:46.and no concerns were raised about the work they were doing.

:05:47. > :05:56.The employer is still going but has struggled to find work.

:05:57. > :06:03.The Health and Safety Executive will now review the evidence in light of

:06:04. > :06:06.the inquest. They will decide whether criminal proceedings are

:06:07. > :06:12.appropriate and will announce its decision in due course.

:06:13. > :06:24.The judge extended his sympathy to the families of the four men. They

:06:25. > :06:26.met such an tragic and untimely death, she said.

:06:27. > :06:29.In Football, two of our teams have been in action in League One

:06:30. > :06:32.tonight. Peterborough hosted Walsall. They drew 0`0. And it was

:06:33. > :06:36.also a goalless match for Colchester against Swindon. Well, that's all

:06:37. > :06:40.from me. Time to look at the weather now with Dan.

:06:41. > :06:55.The Met office have and amber warning out. Some trees could be

:06:56. > :07:01.downed due to the dampness of the ground. Blustery showers coming in

:07:02. > :07:07.from the south`west. Temperatures are fairly mild. Saturday will be

:07:08. > :07:13.quite windy with lots of showers piling on from the south`west. There

:07:14. > :07:19.will be dry intervals but it will be quite a windy day. It will ease a

:07:20. > :07:27.little bit as we head through the day. The showers tends to fade away

:07:28. > :07:32.through the course of the evening leaving a dry night. Sunday is much

:07:33. > :07:36.and bright after a chilly night. I will leave you with the weekend

:07:37. > :07:45.summary for London. Let's go to the weather centre to get the national

:07:46. > :07:48.forecast. Our love hate relationship with the

:07:49. > :07:54.weather has become unbalanced this winter, I suspect there is not a lot

:07:55. > :08:00.of love left. Today's storm has not helped. It gave us 20 to 30

:08:01. > :08:03.millimetres of rain. Snow in the past few hours at lower levels in

:08:04. > :08:08.eastern Scotland. That should turn to rain again but the blizzards in

:08:09. > :08:09.the Scottish mountains will continue. This evening, it has
