:00:00. > 3:59:59That's it for now we'll be back at 6pm. Stay with us on BBC One. It's

:00:00. > :00:15.time for Hello, I'm Tom Williams. The

:00:16. > :00:19.overnight storms have battered the east, disrupting travel and bringing

:00:20. > :00:22.down power lines. There have been delays on the trains, scores of

:00:23. > :00:31.minor roads have been blocked by fallen trees and thousands are

:00:32. > :00:34.without power. Electricity engineers are working to reconnect some of the

:00:35. > :00:39.10,000 homes and businesses across the East which have been left

:00:40. > :00:42.without power. The high winds which swept in overnight brought down

:00:43. > :00:48.hundreds of trees, including this one near Brentwood. Essex has been

:00:49. > :00:53.the worst affected so far, with 3500 properties blacked out. At about 3am

:00:54. > :00:59.I woke up because I heard these banging noises, about three of them.

:01:00. > :01:02.This was obviously the tree coming down on the power line. Luckily it

:01:03. > :01:08.went in the direction towards the field, not into anyone's house. Near

:01:09. > :01:12.Cambridge, the Imperial War Museum, which suffered roof damage in last

:01:13. > :01:17.month's pills, has again been hit. It is closed. This car was damaged

:01:18. > :01:22.and a tree was blown down near Hitchin. And there's been some lucky

:01:23. > :01:26.escapes. Two people were sitting in this car when a tree crashed onto it

:01:27. > :01:32.in a pub car park. The pair managed to get out of the car and escaped

:01:33. > :01:36.without a scratch. Four men have been remanded in custody until next

:01:37. > :01:42.month, accused of murdering a rap artist in Bedford. Isaac Stone was

:01:43. > :01:45.19 and known as Dynamite. He was stabbed to death last month. A

:01:46. > :01:48.memorial service is being held today for a teacher from Cambridge who

:01:49. > :01:52.died in a Russian plane crash. Donna Bull was among 50 people who died at

:01:53. > :01:55.Kazan Airport in Tatarstan in November. The mother of two, who

:01:56. > :01:58.worked at Bellerbys College, will be remembered at a service at Great St

:01:59. > :02:01.Mary's church this afternoon. Onto the football today, and Ipswich's

:02:02. > :02:05.promotion push continues at home to Blackpool. Mick McCarthy's side won

:02:06. > :02:09.the reverse fixture 3`2 back in November. Town are three points off

:02:10. > :02:18.the play`offs in eighth, in a fight that will go right down to the wire.

:02:19. > :02:21.Particularly the Championship, there's a bit of quality here, if

:02:22. > :02:27.something happens in the game, it turns it your way or their weight.

:02:28. > :02:30.We inherited a group of players that were probably a bit low on

:02:31. > :02:33.confidence. We've tried to instil that in them. In League One this

:02:34. > :02:37.afternoon, Stevenage will hope to move off the bottom with a win at

:02:38. > :02:40.Rotherham. MK Dons host Oldham. Two games last night, no goals in either

:02:41. > :02:43.of the games involving Peterborough or Colchester. This, the closest

:02:44. > :02:46.Posh came. Michael Bostwick's shot. It fell to Britt Assombalonga who

:02:47. > :02:49.couldn't convert. Peterborough stay sixth. In League Two,

:02:50. > :02:53.promotion`chasing Southend take on Exeter. Northampton, who are bottom,

:02:54. > :03:02.head to Fleetwood looking for two wins in a row. Just got to be in the

:03:03. > :03:09.race. People recognise we are in the race. The group we've got together,

:03:10. > :03:13.I keep saying that because it is a talented bunch. We've just got to

:03:14. > :03:16.turn them in a hard to beat team. In rugby, Bedford's match at Ealing

:03:17. > :03:19.last night was called off because of the weather. In the Premiership,

:03:20. > :03:21.Northampton, who are top of the pile, take on Worcester, who are

:03:22. > :03:29.bottom. Although it seems the worst has

:03:30. > :03:33.passed, we do still have a yellow weather warning in place of further

:03:34. > :03:37.heavy rain. It will join us in the form of heavy, blustery showers. We

:03:38. > :03:44.have a fair south`westerly breeze, but it is easing. Tonight, any

:03:45. > :03:48.remaining showers will be blown out of the way, the wind will fall like

:03:49. > :03:55.as we head through and the sky will clear. That will allow the

:03:56. > :04:01.temperature to drop right down. Tomorrow, for all intents and

:04:02. > :04:10.purposes it is a beautiful day, beautiful sky, sunshine,

:04:11. > :04:19.Good afternoon. It looks as though we could be heading towards a sunny

:04:20. > :04:20.Sunday, something I assure we will all be grateful. What a store
