:00:13. > :00:17.Hello, I'm Shaun Peel. First, more on the death of a

:00:18. > :00:20.retired businessman from Essex who was killed during Friday's storms.

:00:21. > :00:24.James Swinstead, who lived near Colchester, died on a cruise ship

:00:25. > :00:28.when it was hit by a huge wave in the English Channel. His widow says

:00:29. > :00:37.there must be a thorough inquiry into what went wrong.

:00:38. > :00:42.He was lovely. He was a very good husband.

:00:43. > :00:48.James and Helen Swinstead had been married for 30 years, they had been

:00:49. > :00:54.many trips, but their latest holiday was to end in tragedy. But in the

:00:55. > :01:01.restaurant on Valentine's Day when the wave blew out the window of the

:01:02. > :01:06.ship. There were four windows that had

:01:07. > :01:14.crashed in and people were bleeding. The dinner waiter moved me away from

:01:15. > :01:18.the table, because I was very wet. I sat there and they called the doctor

:01:19. > :01:28.and he took my husband away. James, who was 85 years old, bought

:01:29. > :01:32.the brunt of the water and glass. He died later in hospital after being

:01:33. > :01:36.airlifted. A number of the other passengers on board were also hurt.

:01:37. > :01:41.Helen Swinstead said that the boat was badly maintained and it was

:01:42. > :01:47.clear to see. There was rust and there was water

:01:48. > :01:51.on the windowsill. If you have rusty water going through the windowsill,

:01:52. > :01:59.you plug it. You should not have the water coming in.

:02:00. > :02:03.Marco Polo was 40 years old. When it was chartered by a German company,

:02:04. > :02:08.it hit the headlines after many people went down with a sickness bug

:02:09. > :02:12.and one person died. It is now run by another operator, Cruise and

:02:13. > :02:18.Maritime Voyages. The company said that they would not comment on the

:02:19. > :02:29.views of Helen Swinstead. She says that there must be a review to see

:02:30. > :02:33.if safety on board was compromised. Engineers have been working through

:02:34. > :02:35.the weekend to restore electricity supplies which were cut during the

:02:36. > :02:38.storm. Around 11,000 homes and businesses across the East lost

:02:39. > :02:41.power at the height of yesterday morning's gales. Most of the

:02:42. > :02:44.problems were caused by fallen trees tearing down overhead lines. By

:02:45. > :02:46.today, only a handful of homes were still off.

:02:47. > :02:49.Across the region, assessment of the damage caused to buildings is

:02:50. > :02:53.continuing. Part of the roof was ripped off the sports hall of the

:02:54. > :02:55.Manor School at Raunds in Northamptonshire. And a former

:02:56. > :02:58.antique shop at Chatteris in Cambridgeshire was flattened by the

:02:59. > :03:01.force of the winds. Collapsing masonry wrecked a car parked

:03:02. > :03:04.outside. And the Imperial War Museum at

:03:05. > :03:10.Duxford near Cambridge is unlikely to reopen this week. The main hangar

:03:11. > :03:13.has suffered damage. It's the second time in just over a month that

:03:14. > :03:21.sections of the roof have been ripped off in high winds.

:03:22. > :03:26.Once we were able to go onto the roof to assess the conditions, we

:03:27. > :03:30.will then look at longer`term strategies and improvements to

:03:31. > :03:37.ensure that when we enjoy these difficult conditions that all our

:03:38. > :03:40.buildings are very safe. A patient who went missing from

:03:41. > :03:42.Colchester hospital has been found. The disappearance of pensioner

:03:43. > :03:46.Gerald Shelcot this morning prompted a big police search of the hospital

:03:47. > :03:49.grounds and surrounding area. Officers found the 78`year`old safe

:03:50. > :03:51.and well this afternoon at a supermarket on the other side of the

:03:52. > :03:54.town. In football, just five of our sides

:03:55. > :03:57.played yesterday. Ipswich and MK Dons added points to their play`off

:03:58. > :04:05.ambitions, Southend slipped up at home, and there was misery again for

:04:06. > :04:12.Stevenage and Northampton. Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy gave this

:04:13. > :04:17.assessment of the mill`nil `` 0`0 match. He said that they could have

:04:18. > :04:25.won it. He also said that they did not play well enough to win it.

:04:26. > :04:27.There was a 2`1 win at home to Oldham.

:04:28. > :04:34.Oldham took the first half lead, and it was heading for a draw when Ben

:04:35. > :04:40.Reeves found an empty bed `` net in stoppage time.

:04:41. > :04:45.The home side led before the break, Stevenage thought that they had

:04:46. > :04:54.stolen up point. They could not lock it down, as rather stock with the

:04:55. > :04:59.winner two minutes later. There was a pair from the head of Mark

:05:00. > :05:02.Phillips, but Exeter finished with a lightning bolt, and with three

:05:03. > :05:11.minutes left on the clock, Elliott Richard left it 3`2 to Exeter.

:05:12. > :05:15.The boss felt that his side were closer to Fleetwood then the score

:05:16. > :05:19.suggests, but they are near the bottom and they are running out of

:05:20. > :05:27.places to look. And here is the weather.

:05:28. > :05:33.Good afternoon. After clear skies at first, the temperatures will drop

:05:34. > :05:37.down quite quickly tonight. By dawn, the next band of cloud will

:05:38. > :05:40.arrive will stop we could get outbreaks of patchy rain throughout

:05:41. > :05:44.the morning. The wind a little stronger than today, where the

:05:45. > :05:49.afternoon towards northern parts, that rain still around stop light

:05:50. > :05:54.and patchy rain towards the south of the region. As we had further to the

:05:55. > :05:59.rest of the week to Tuesday, perhaps in heavy showers around for Tuesday

:06:00. > :06:01.morning. Some brighter stars in the afternoon, but a dry days we head

:06:02. > :06:20.into Wednesday. Whilst we are talking about wet and

:06:21. > :06:26.windy weather in the week ahead we will lose the extremes of last week.

:06:27. > :06:32.The first glow of the week will approach overnight. Clear skies will

:06:33. > :06:36.cause temperatures to fall awake, and we are looking at a frost in

:06:37. > :06:41.eastern England and for northern Scotland with Pitt -- patches of

:06:42. > :06:44.mist and fog. Temperatures will rise through the night as the cloud comes

:06:45. > :06:50.in and the wind begins to lift and the rain arrives. The far north of

:06:51. > :06:53.Scotland will get off to a frosty start. Further south, outbreaks of

:06:54. > :06:56.rain for the rush hour. Rain
