:00:00. > :00:13.two weeks' time. That is all from us tonight but

:00:14. > :00:18.Hello, I'm Shaun Peel. First, more on the death of a

:00:19. > :00:22.retired businessman from Essex who was killed during Friday's storms.

:00:23. > :00:26.James Swinstead, who lived near Colchester, died on a cruise ship

:00:27. > :00:31.when it was hit by a huge wave. His widow is demanding a thorough

:00:32. > :00:35.inquiry into what went wrong. He was lovely. He was a very good

:00:36. > :00:39.husband. James and Helen Swinstead had been married almost 60 years.

:00:40. > :00:42.They had been on a number of cruises, but their latest adventure,

:00:43. > :00:46.a 42 night voyage to the Azores, was to end in tragedy. The couple were

:00:47. > :00:50.in the restaurant at lunchtime on Valentine's Day when a wave smashed

:00:51. > :00:55.four windows right beside them. Suddenly, it blew in. Then it was

:00:56. > :01:01.real pandemonium. Four windows came in, people were bleeding. The dinner

:01:02. > :01:05.waiter found me and moved me to a chair away... Because I was terribly

:01:06. > :01:10.wet, you can imagine with the sea breaking over you. I sat there and

:01:11. > :01:15.they called for the doctor and he took my husband away. James, who was

:01:16. > :01:18.85, bore the brunt of the torrent of water and glass and died before he

:01:19. > :01:22.could be airlifted from the vessel which was just two days from its

:01:23. > :01:27.home port at Tilbury. A number of the other 700 passengers on board

:01:28. > :01:31.were also hurt. Mrs Swinstead says the ship was badly maintained and

:01:32. > :01:35.that was clear to see. I said to my husband that it was a rusty patch.

:01:36. > :01:40.There was water on the windowsill next to him. It's common sense, if

:01:41. > :01:48.you have rusty water come in through a window, you plug it, you don't

:01:49. > :01:52.have rusty water coming in. The Marco Polo is nearly 50 years old

:01:53. > :01:55.and was built for a Soviet shipping company. Five years ago, when it was

:01:56. > :01:59.chartered by a German company, it hit the headlines. 400 passengers

:02:00. > :02:02.and crew went down with a sickness virus and one man from Norfolk died.

:02:03. > :02:05.It is now run by a different operator. The company said it would

:02:06. > :02:09.not comment on Mrs Swinstead's views, but she is adamant there must

:02:10. > :02:19.be a full investigation to establish if safety on board was in any way

:02:20. > :02:22.compromised. Engineers have been working through

:02:23. > :02:32.the weekend to restore electricity supplies which were cut during the

:02:33. > :02:35.storm. Around 11,000 homes and businesses across the east lost

:02:36. > :02:38.power when falling trees brought down overhead lines. By today, only

:02:39. > :02:41.a handful of homes were still off. Across the region, assessment of the

:02:42. > :02:45.damage caused to buildings is continuing. Part of the roof was

:02:46. > :02:47.ripped off the sports hall of the Manor School at Raunds in

:02:48. > :02:50.Northamptonshire. And a former antique shop at Chatteris in

:02:51. > :02:54.Cambridgeshire was flattened by the force of the winds. Falling masonry

:02:55. > :02:57.wrecked a car parked outside. And the Imperial War Museum at Duxford

:02:58. > :03:00.near Cambridge is unlikely to reopen this week. The main hangar has

:03:01. > :03:05.suffered damage to its roof for the second time this year.

:03:06. > :03:09.Once we've been able to go up onto the roof, make it safe and assess

:03:10. > :03:12.the conditions, we will then be looking at some long`term structural

:03:13. > :03:15.improvements to make sure that when we do endure these very difficult

:03:16. > :03:20.weather conditions that all our buildings are very safe.

:03:21. > :03:22.A patient who went missing from Colchester hospital has been found.

:03:23. > :03:25.The disappearance of pensioner Gerald Shelcot this morning prompted

:03:26. > :03:28.a police search of the hospital grounds and surrounding area.

:03:29. > :03:31.Officers found the 78`year`old safe and well this afternoon at a

:03:32. > :03:36.supermarket on the other side of the town.

:03:37. > :03:40.OK, let's look at the weather. Here's Kate Kinsella.

:03:41. > :03:45.After a beautiful day today, the temperature dropped quite suddenly

:03:46. > :03:50.once it became dark. Fairly chilly first thing. But the temperature

:03:51. > :03:54.could rise as we head towards dawn as the cloud is set to arrive. We'll

:03:55. > :03:59.also get some outbreaks of light, patchy rain. This area of cloud is

:04:00. > :04:04.heading towards us. But when it reaches us, it will have broken up,

:04:05. > :04:11.so it is light and patchy rain. The wind is a little stronger tomorrow,

:04:12. > :04:15.nothing to worry about. As we head into the afternoon, some brighter

:04:16. > :04:20.spells further south. Further north are likely to hold onto that patchy

:04:21. > :04:24.rain until sunset. For the rest of the week, some quite heavy showers

:04:25. > :04:30.around for Tuesday. For Wednesday, a dry day and more rain for Thursday.

:04:31. > :05:07.That's it. We're back in breakfast news tomorrow from 6.30. Goodnight.

:05:08. > :05:15.Good evening. In the midst of any normal winter weather for the week

:05:16. > :05:16.ahead would be fairly unremarkable. Some rain in places, some
