:00:00. > :00:14.There's more throughout the evening There's more throughout the evening

:00:15. > :00:19.Hello, I'm Shaun Peel. First this evening, part of the old military

:00:20. > :00:24.garrison in Colchester has been gutted by a major fire. Fird crews

:00:25. > :00:30.were called to the block off Butt Road just after midnight. The cause

:00:31. > :00:34.is being investigated. These were the scenes at thd height

:00:35. > :00:41.of the blaze during the early hours of this morning. The video was shot

:00:42. > :00:44.by a local resident. Seven crews were called to fight the fire, which

:00:45. > :00:49.had engulfed the Grade`II lhsted building just after midnight. 3

:00:50. > :00:52.homes nearby had to be evactated. The site was empty and was hn the

:00:53. > :01:01.process of being converted hnto housing. The smoke was just getting

:01:02. > :01:05.thicker and thicker and thicker It was really acrid, it really got in

:01:06. > :01:08.your throat and in your eyes. And then the next thing we know, as the

:01:09. > :01:12.roof went in, it just, the flames just leapt higher. The senior fire

:01:13. > :01:14.officer at the scene said the blaze was "raging" on the ground floor

:01:15. > :01:17.when crews arrived. It was extinguished at around 4:45`m. The

:01:18. > :01:20.building is part of Colchester's heritage. The sergeants' mess is a

:01:21. > :01:23.very important room in its own right, is part of the fabric of

:01:24. > :01:26.Colchester's military history, so it is really sad that this has

:01:27. > :01:29.happened. And not only that, just over the road from here is ` very

:01:30. > :01:32.historically significant site, not just for Colchester, but for the

:01:33. > :01:36.whole country, where the Rolan circus used to be. Nobody w`s

:01:37. > :01:41.injured and a small number of firefighters remained on site this

:01:42. > :01:44.morning to dampen any hotspots. The cause of the fire is unknown and an

:01:45. > :01:48.investigation is underway. A crash on the A1 in Hertfordshire

:01:49. > :01:54.has left one man dead and a woman and two children seriously hnjured..

:01:55. > :02:00.It happened near Junction sdven outside Stevenage at around 11: 0pm

:02:01. > :02:04.last night. Four people werd in the car involved. The man died `t the

:02:05. > :02:08.scene and the woman was takdn to hospital by air ambulance.

:02:09. > :02:11.Football and in the Premier League, Norwich lost 1`0 at Fulham. Once

:02:12. > :02:19.again, misery for Norwich, now face Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and

:02:20. > :02:23.Arsenal to save themselves. Fulham's Hugo Rodallega scored the only goal

:02:24. > :02:26.of the game just before half time. Ricky Van Wolfswinkel was ddnied

:02:27. > :02:30.with a point`blank save and Robert Snodgress hit the bar. It ldaves

:02:31. > :02:35.Norwich perched on the dottdd line, just two points clear of thd drop.

:02:36. > :02:39.In the Championship, Ipswich Town are banging on the door of the

:02:40. > :02:44.play`offs after a 2`1 win over Doncaster. Daryl Murphy and Luke

:02:45. > :02:48.Chambers the scorers. Ipswich are now just out of the top six, but

:02:49. > :02:51.only on goal difference. In League One, MK Dons are nine

:02:52. > :02:55.points behind the pack after losing 2`0 at home to Crawley. Petdrborough

:02:56. > :02:58.look good for the play`offs, though, with a 1`0 win over Coventrx.

:02:59. > :03:01.Colchester won 3`2 at Stevenage which gives them a three`pohnt

:03:02. > :03:05.cushion, but leaves Stevenage four points adrift at the bottom of the

:03:06. > :03:08.table. And in League Two, Northampton beat

:03:09. > :03:12.Burton 1`0 and only goal difference is keeping them in the relegation

:03:13. > :03:16.zone now. Southend lost 1`0 at home to Wimbledon but stay sixth.

:03:17. > :03:20.Luton missed the chance to gain promotion to the Football Ldague

:03:21. > :03:23.today. There were more than 10, 00 at Kenilworth Road, but the

:03:24. > :03:24.champagne corks stayed in as Luton lost 3`2 to Braintree, who `re

:03:25. > :03:28.chasing the play`offs. today. There were more than 10, 00

:03:29. > :03:34.Braintree were 3`0 up, Luton came back twice against the ten Dssex

:03:35. > :03:39.men, but it wasn't enough. The title must wait for Luton as, elsdwhere,

:03:40. > :03:42.Cambridge beat Hyde 7`2. The disgraced Essex cricketdr Mervyn

:03:43. > :03:46.Westfield has played his first full game for a club side since being

:03:47. > :03:49.jailed for spot fixing. The bowler turned out for Frinton this

:03:50. > :03:54.afternoon in their match ag`inst Harold Wood. Back in 2012, he served

:03:55. > :03:57.eight weeks in prison for t`king a corrupt payment and is banndd from

:03:58. > :04:02.first`class cricket until 2017. Westfield scored a century on his

:04:03. > :04:03.debut. Let's have a look at the we`ther

:04:04. > :04:09.with Kate Kinsella. Good evening. Well, despite the

:04:10. > :04:13.cloud today, it has not been a bad day, most of us have seen some fine

:04:14. > :04:18.and dry weather, just one or two spots of rain out towards the coast.

:04:19. > :04:21.Tomorrow, it is actually a bit of an improvement, dry, fine with some

:04:22. > :04:24.sunny spells. But first, we get through this evening. The cloud is

:04:25. > :04:28.going to hang around for a time tonight. Eventually, it starts to

:04:29. > :04:31.break up and we will get sole clear spells. That will allow the

:04:32. > :04:34.temperature to drop. There hs a slim chance in the more rural locations,

:04:35. > :04:37.the more sheltered spots, wd may actually get a sparkle or two of

:04:38. > :04:40.grass frost tomorrow so any tender plants are worth protecting. So some

:04:41. > :04:43.sunny spells first thing tolorrow, bright and sunny start. The wind

:04:44. > :04:46.remains light tomorrow as wdll. The cloud starts to bubble up as we go

:04:47. > :04:49.through the afternoon. Tempdratures feeling really quite nice, `nd in

:04:50. > :04:52.the sunshine, a maximum of `round 15 Celsius. High pressure dominates our

:04:53. > :04:54.weather as we head into the new week, which means plenty of sunny

:04:55. > :04:58.spells and temperatures agahn remaining similar.

:04:59. > :05:00.That's it. We're back with lore news and sport tomorrow at 6:45pl and

:05:01. > :05:00.10:15pm. remaining similar.

:05:01. > :05:15.That's it. We're back with lore Have good night. Goodbye.

:05:16. > :05:20.We start with a look at the latest satellite sequence, because it shows

:05:21. > :05:23.what has been going on over the last few hours. This band of cloud has

:05:24. > :05:27.been slipping south across England and Wales. A bit of patchy rain to

:05:28. > :05:32.come from that, but nothing of significance. Quite the story across

:05:33. > :05:38.the north of Scotland . And some fairly frequent showers to the north

:05:39. > :05:42.and west of Scotland. That is it by dawn. Most places will see clear

:05:43. > :05:50.spells and it wouldn't turn -- it will turn cold, particularly in raw

:05:51. > :05:52.areas. In the morning, one or two showers along the northern coast of
