:00:10. > :00:14.Good evening, I'm Jenny Kirk. An inquest in Bury St Edmunds has been

:00:15. > :00:18.told that over a two`month period, the police had been called ten times

:00:19. > :00:23.to deal with a teenager who eventually hanged herself. The body

:00:24. > :00:26.of Becky Watkins was found `t the Evergreen Children's Home in Brandon

:00:27. > :00:32.five years ago. Ian Barmer was at the inquest.

:00:33. > :00:38.Becky was found hanged from a wardrobe door at Evergreen

:00:39. > :00:42.Children's Home in June, 2009. She was 16, from Braintree in Essex and

:00:43. > :00:48.the inquest painted a picture of short and troubled life, falily

:00:49. > :00:55.health and mental albums. Bdcky was on the Child Protection Reghster and

:00:56. > :01:00.in foster care. In 2007, shd made an allegation of a significant assault.

:01:01. > :01:06.In 2008, she took a paracet`mol overdose. She was sectioned under

:01:07. > :01:11.the Mental Health Act, and then she went to Evergreen Children's Home.

:01:12. > :01:15.There she told a friend that she was going to kill herself. She said she

:01:16. > :01:20.was exhausted at having to put it rave face on all the time. Hn the

:01:21. > :01:24.two month she was at Evergrden Children's Home, police werd called

:01:25. > :01:28.ten times to deal with her. He senior care assistant also gave

:01:29. > :01:33.evidence and said Becky had told a colleague she was going to kill

:01:34. > :01:38.herself in the next couple of days, two days before she did it. Charlene

:01:39. > :01:44.Carroll said she did not know about this and if she had, she wotld have

:01:45. > :01:48.told the night shift and Becky would not have been alone. Staff were

:01:49. > :01:51.checking on her every ten, 05 minutes and there is no suggestion

:01:52. > :01:57.staff were not doing their job Rob Lee on that night. But her plight

:01:58. > :02:00.was summed up by a witness who told the court that she was a girl who

:02:01. > :02:05.just did not see herself with a future.

:02:06. > :02:09.There is a month to go before the European Elections and the campaign

:02:10. > :02:13.has started to hot up. The Green Party came very close to winning a

:02:14. > :02:16.seat in the East last time `round, and today, the party launchdd its

:02:17. > :02:20.campaign. The Greens lead c`ndidate here is Dr Rupert Read, a Norfolk

:02:21. > :02:24.academic. At the 2009 Euro elections, he missed a seat by just

:02:25. > :02:27.1% of the vote. This time, he is standing again and needs to reach

:02:28. > :02:31.10% to gain a seat in Strasbourg. Well, the Green Party's leader is

:02:32. > :02:34.Natalie Bennett, and she johns me now. Let's look at some of the

:02:35. > :02:39.issues, coastal defences, flooding, erosion, people care a lot `bout

:02:40. > :02:47.that, what are you doing about it in Europe? We want to look at dach area

:02:48. > :02:51.on its own merits. We have ` situation where the sea levdl is

:02:52. > :02:55.rising and we need to act on climate change to reduce that effect. The

:02:56. > :02:59.South of England is sinking and we have to look at the effect of

:03:00. > :03:04.flooding water coming from the land, we will see increased rain. We have

:03:05. > :03:10.to plan to trees in the Open is because where water runs on a tree,

:03:11. > :03:15.64 more times water `` more water is absorbed. We have to look at this in

:03:16. > :03:20.a holistic way. The Colchester food bank, it you were discussing this

:03:21. > :03:21.tonight, how is what you discussed affecting what you are doing in

:03:22. > :03:31.Europe? What was fascinating `` it was fascinating and disturbhng that

:03:32. > :03:34.that 12 food and across Essdx and they helped more than 20,000 people

:03:35. > :03:39.will last year but in Colchdster, they had edited three times of food

:03:40. > :03:47.donated last year and they thought it was great `` they had 33 tonnes

:03:48. > :03:53.of food. But they badly need directions `` donations and I would

:03:54. > :03:58.ask for help. Today, the Brhtish government said the law was being

:03:59. > :04:05.changed to allow fracking companies to put pipelines under housds, how

:04:06. > :04:10.can you change that? This is about European elation. We the fotrth

:04:11. > :04:15.largest group in the Europe`n Parliament so we have a chance to

:04:16. > :04:17.make a difference and we can apply environmental legislation across

:04:18. > :04:26.Europe and we do not want any fracking. What about immigr`tion?

:04:27. > :04:33.The UKIP posters we have sedn in the last 12 hours of very disturbing.

:04:34. > :04:35.They are going to cause divhsion in British society and they ard

:04:36. > :04:40.factually wrong. We must sax that we need to welcome immigrants here and

:04:41. > :04:46.many British people choose to live in the rest of Europe. Nigel Farage

:04:47. > :04:49.says he thinks UKIP will win the European elections. I think they

:04:50. > :04:54.will do well because they are playing on fear. We want to offer

:04:55. > :05:02.the hope we can build a much better society, April society in which

:05:03. > :05:06.everybody meet their basic needs. A lot `` April society. Concern about

:05:07. > :05:17.immigration related to poverty, crowding, schools, NHS issuds, that

:05:18. > :05:23.is not caused by immigration. Our Railways and things not seen as a

:05:24. > :05:27.luxury in times of austeritx? I think those are policies th`t

:05:28. > :05:32.resonate with the British ptblic. Thank you very much.

:05:33. > :05:35.A man has been detained inddfinitely for killing his childhood friend in

:05:36. > :05:39.a "savage, sustained and brttal attack". Jason Miller today admitted

:05:40. > :05:42.manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility at Ipswich

:05:43. > :05:45.Crown Court. Russell Capon died from stab wounds at Miller's homd in

:05:46. > :05:49.Ipswich last June. Miller w`s detained under the Mental Hdalth

:05:50. > :05:52.Act. A ?1,000 reward is being offered for

:05:53. > :05:57.information about an arson `ttack on a Church hall. Crimestoppers is

:05:58. > :06:00.putting up the money, after the hall at St Anne's Church, in Norwich was

:06:01. > :06:09.set on fire in February. It happened between 3pm and 4pm on the 07th and

:06:10. > :06:13.caused ?130,000`worth of dalage Part of the river bank at Mhstley

:06:14. > :06:17.Quayside in Essex has been damaged, seemingly by a load of bricks. The

:06:18. > :06:20.weight of the bricks being delivered by a ship caused a hole this

:06:21. > :06:24.afternoon. A forklift truck moving the bricks fell into the hole. It is

:06:25. > :06:26.not believed that the driver was hurt.

:06:27. > :06:29.Norfolk shooter Mick Gault hs coming out of retirement to competd in this

:06:30. > :06:32.summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He retired in 2010, after

:06:33. > :06:37.the Delhi Games, with an incredible 17 medals to his name. He is now

:06:38. > :06:39.hoping to pass the magic figure of 18 and become the most succdssful

:06:40. > :06:42.Commonwealth Games athlete of all time.

:06:43. > :06:45.That is the way the news looks tonight, so it's goodnight from me.

:06:46. > :06:51.I'll leave you with the weather forecast from Alex Dolan.

:06:52. > :06:56.Largely dry across the region for the rest of the night and mhst

:06:57. > :07:01.patches by the early hours. It is not a cold night, the lowest value

:07:02. > :07:06.is around eight Celsius. We start tomorrow quite right with stnny

:07:07. > :07:11.spells through the morning. A pleasant day. `` quite right.

:07:12. > :07:17.Isolated showers possible btt generally warm. Highs of around 17

:07:18. > :07:21.Celsius. A south easterly whnd means it is cooler along the coast and by

:07:22. > :07:27.the afternoon, increasing cloud from the West will bring a chillx rain.

:07:28. > :07:29.But for many of us not until after rainfall. In a moment, the national

:07:30. > :07:39.weather. This is the is not looking too bad. That's

:07:40. > :07:43.weather front. It is never too early to think about

:07:44. > :07:47.next weekend and I will be doing that in a couple of minutes. But we

:07:48. > :07:52.have a sizeable chunk of this that in a couple of minutes. But we

:07:53. > :07:57.week's whether to go first. There are more showers, but there will be

:07:58. > :08:02.spells of warm sunshine around as well, so there will be no frost at

:08:03. > :08:05.night. Bands of showers across the western side of the UK and

:08:06. > :08:10.Scotland's passing through overnight. Another heavy burst

:08:11. > :08:11.coming into the
