:00:00. > 3:59:59full coverage on BBC One of the European election results after the
:00:00. > :00:18.Hello, I'm Alex Dunlop. In the last news
:00:19. > :00:21.Hello, I'm Alex Dunlop. In the last few minutes, we've learned which
:00:22. > :00:25.parties will be representing the region in the European Parliament.
:00:26. > :00:28.UKIP have taken three of the seven seats for the East of England.
:00:29. > :00:36.Andrew Sinclair is live in Chelmsford. Yes, seven seats in all
:00:37. > :00:39.up for grabs, three of them went to the UK Independence Party. Three of
:00:40. > :00:44.them went to the Conservatives. One of them went to the Labour Party.
:00:45. > :00:48.That means that Andrew Duff, the Liberal Democrat M EP for this
:00:49. > :00:56.region for 15 years, has lost his seat. UKIP's share of the vote was
:00:57. > :01:01.up dramatically from 19% last time to around 34%. Their lead candidate
:01:02. > :01:09.said "the earthquake in the East of England that Nigel Farage talked
:01:10. > :01:12.about has now happened." UKIP has done something quite unprecedented.
:01:13. > :01:15.We topped the poll in this region. We're all quite excited to see
:01:16. > :01:19.whether we can match that across Great Britain as a whole. We want
:01:20. > :01:23.our country back. So bad night for the Liberal Democrats and a bad
:01:24. > :01:28.night for Labour. They went into this campaign hoping to pick up two
:01:29. > :01:32.seats, but have just got one. The Tories are over the moon that they
:01:33. > :01:36.still have three seats here. A lot of people will discuss what this
:01:37. > :01:42.result means about the region. We Eurosceptic or have people had
:01:43. > :01:46.enough of politics? Thank you very much indeed. On two other news. A
:01:47. > :01:49.huge fire has torn through part of a historic town centre in Norfolk.
:01:50. > :01:52.People had to be evacuated from the middle of Fakenham. Buildings
:01:53. > :01:56.collapsed as the flames swept through a parade of shops.
:01:57. > :02:00.It looked more like a war zone than a Sunday morning in a quiet market
:02:01. > :02:03.town. People living in flats above the shops had to be led to safety
:02:04. > :02:07.and given first aid as fire quickly engulfed the entire block of
:02:08. > :02:09.properties. Morning service in the neighbouring church was abandoned as
:02:10. > :02:12.smoke filled the building. There were just horrendous, huge flames
:02:13. > :02:17.and I've never seen anything like it in my life. It was frightening. It
:02:18. > :02:21.was very frightening. One disabled couple weren't able to move their
:02:22. > :02:24.car in time, it was destroyed. The whole area was sealed off as
:02:25. > :02:31.sections of building started to collapse. At the centre of the fire
:02:32. > :02:34.was the former Aldiss department store, which, like the rest of the
:02:35. > :02:38.buildings, was gutted. Elderly residents in sheltered accommodation
:02:39. > :02:40.were also moved to safety. As a precaution, we evacuated a
:02:41. > :02:43.significant number of premises but in doing so, we also committed our
:02:44. > :02:47.breathing apparatus crews into those buildings with a water supply, so
:02:48. > :02:51.that it if the fire did break through, we would have been able to
:02:52. > :02:56.stop it. It took around 100 firefighters to control the blaze.
:02:57. > :02:57.There were no serious injuries but it has left both homes and
:02:58. > :03:08.businesses in ruins. Prince William could join the
:03:09. > :03:11.region's Air Ambulance service. The Duke of Cambridge has been
:03:12. > :03:13.considering his future since giving up his role as an RAF
:03:14. > :03:15.search`and`rescue pilot. Now the Sunday Times reports he's
:03:16. > :03:19.considering being a part`time pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
:03:20. > :03:25.The royal couple have a home in Norfolk.
:03:26. > :03:27.Thousands of people turned out today to enjoy the Luton Carnival.
:03:28. > :03:30.Organisers say this year's parade was bigger than ever.
:03:31. > :03:34.From ghouls to Ghanaian drummers, it can only be the Luton Carnival. And
:03:35. > :03:40.for the 1,000 performers, the intricate, colourful costumes are a
:03:41. > :03:46.Labour of love. It's a lot of work, detail, lots of patience. But, you
:03:47. > :03:50.know, it's worthwhile in the end. This year's carnival isn't on the
:03:51. > :03:54.scale of previous years and there is a new organiser, the UK Centre for
:03:55. > :04:00.Carnival Arts. It says its priority is on encouraging more local groups
:04:01. > :04:04.to take part. What you're seeing is the parade is bigger and more
:04:05. > :04:06.ambitious than ever. We have 1,000 participants, 30 different bands in
:04:07. > :04:09.there, representing cultures from all over the world. The organisers
:04:10. > :04:13.estimate around 30,000 people came to the carnival, and in the summer
:04:14. > :04:18.sun, it was a spectacle few will forget.
:04:19. > :04:26.Let's get the weather now. Good evening. Well, we've just about
:04:27. > :04:29.seen the last of our dry weather after today. We have some showers
:04:30. > :04:33.pushing up from the south tonight and tomorrow, quite a grey start to
:04:34. > :04:36.the day. Quite a lot of cloud and some showers too. Come the
:04:37. > :04:39.afternoon, those showers could be heavy, perhaps even thundery, but
:04:40. > :04:42.some sunny spells in between. And in that sunshine, we could have
:04:43. > :04:46.temperatures up to the low 20s, but a good few degrees below that where
:04:47. > :04:52.there is any cloud. From Tuesday onwards, quite a wet week ahead.
:04:53. > :04:55.There is a warning in place for rain on Tuesday and temperatures take a
:04:56. > :04:58.bit of a dive, with a chilly east to north`easterly breeze.
:04:59. > :05:01.More on the Euro election results in our extended breakfast bulletins
:05:02. > :05:14.tomorrow. Good evening to you. Tomorrow the
:05:15. > :05:17.weather will be a little like a box of chocolate, you don't know what
:05:18. > :05:24.you are going to get until you head out. The weather was clear cut
:05:25. > :05:28.today, sunshine in the Midlands and the north.
:05:29. > :05:31.Tomorrow, there's going to be a mix of everything across the country and
:05:32. > :05:36.it will be changing a lot from morning into the afternoon and into
:05:37. > :05:40.the evening. This is what the weather is going to look like in the
:05:41. > :05:44.early hours, rain in the south-east, showers dotted around across western
:05:45. > :05:49.areas, and as far as the headline goes for Bank Holiday Monday, we'll
:05:50. > :05:53.call it sunshine and thundery showers, because they'll be hefty
:05:54. > :05:57.later on in the afternoon on Monday. This is what it starts like in the
:05:58. > :06:01.course of the morning. Note it is splodges of blue indicating the
:06:02. > :06:04.rainfall. They keep changing and moving into different places, there
:06:05. > :06:08.is a lot of sunshine coming through. In terms of the thundery downpours,
:06:09. > :06:13.we think the worst will be through this portion here whereas across the
:06:14. > :06:16.east, probably talking ability cloud and rain on and off with a bit of
:06:17. > :06:17.sunshine
