:00:00. > :00:00.Hello and welcome to Look East. and on BBC One we now

:00:00. > :00:09.In the programme tonight, concern grows at plans to change

:00:10. > :00:14.Rather than head south, more planes could head east.

:00:15. > :00:18.Forced marriage becomes illegal today.

:00:19. > :00:21.This woman was taken to Pakhstan for what she thought was a holiday,

:00:22. > :00:25.but refused to go through with the wedding.

:00:26. > :00:28.I got pushed onto the floor, I got hit and I got beaten,

:00:29. > :00:37.I honestly believed that I was going to die there.

:00:38. > :00:43.And the police say the thieves are experts.

:00:44. > :00:49.If this man gets his flag on the TV in Brazil, he'll win a lot

:00:50. > :01:07.I think these boys have drunk half of it already!

:01:08. > :01:10.First tonight, concern over a plan to change

:01:11. > :01:13.the flight paths for thousands of planes taking off from Stansted.

:01:14. > :01:16.At the moment, most head south towards London.

:01:17. > :01:19.But now air traffic controllers want them to go east towards

:01:20. > :01:25.Because fewer planes go in that direction,

:01:26. > :01:28.those that do will be able to climb quicker and fly higher.

:01:29. > :01:31.That will mean they can save fuel and reduce the noise for sole.

:01:32. > :01:41.Our reporter Louise Hubball is at Stansted now.

:01:42. > :01:52.There are 450 flights per day here, 60,000 passengers per day. A lot of

:01:53. > :01:56.aircraft and a lot of noise. So those people living

:01:57. > :02:00.path will be watching today's announcement

:02:01. > :02:06.This is what living near Stansted Airport sounds like. In the back

:02:07. > :02:14.round, day in, day out, for homeowners and businesses

:02:15. > :02:17.underneath. And now the company that manages UK traffic is

:02:18. > :02:23.expanding at changing the number of planes on certain routes. Planes

:02:24. > :02:28.flying south are on what is known as the Dover route,

:02:29. > :02:32.congestion from Heathrow they have to keep below 7000

:02:33. > :02:38.Thames Estuary. Under the proposals, flights to the south

:02:39. > :02:43.during the daytime. Instead, the number of planes flying along the

:02:44. > :02:45.less congested east route towards Clacton would double. They would be

:02:46. > :02:51.able to climb continuously, reducing CO2 emissions and overall noise But

:02:52. > :02:58.I went to great Dunmow, along the East route, and people here are not

:02:59. > :03:06.happy. No, no more planes, we don't need any more. They never stop,

:03:07. > :03:12.land right over your roof and you can nearly see the people in them.

:03:13. > :03:19.a lot to me. Business owners have strong views.

:03:20. > :03:23.clientele, it is going to blight the area. We have made significant

:03:24. > :03:27.progress over the last ten xears reduce noise impact. Currently, 1250

:03:28. > :03:32.people are compare that to Heathrow where there

:03:33. > :03:36.are significantly less. The air traffic

:03:37. > :03:45.company they are necessary because London is

:03:46. > :03:52.the world's busiest air space. In actuality, it is only going to be a

:03:53. > :03:58.the airport that could feel the impact of the new flights.

:03:59. > :04:05.the eastbound route would be climbing continuously, so they

:04:06. > :04:09.their profile than when they are heading south first.

:04:10. > :04:15.consultation into the proposals has now started. Well,

:04:16. > :04:22.opportunity to have your say over what is being proposed

:04:23. > :04:33.today with strong opinions who didn't want to

:04:34. > :04:37.sure your voice is heard. You can do that I

:04:38. > :04:38.A charity based in Norfolk which has been instrumental in helping to make

:04:39. > :04:40.forced marriage a criminal offence says the new law will save lives.

:04:41. > :04:42.From today anyone found guilty faces a jail sentence

:04:43. > :04:47.According to official figures there were 45 cases of forced marriage

:04:48. > :04:49.in the East of England last year, but the real figure could bd more

:04:50. > :04:55.In a moment, we'll hear frol the founder of the Freedom Charity.

:04:56. > :04:58.But first Nikki Fox has been speaking to one woman taken to

:04:59. > :05:02.Pakistan to be married against her will.

:05:03. > :05:08.Regardless of religion, whether it's arranged or more rarely

:05:09. > :05:11.a love match, it has the consent of both bride and groom.

:05:12. > :05:14.And that's the crucial difference between an arranged marriagd

:05:15. > :05:21.A week before my 18th birthday, I was taken to Pakistan.

:05:22. > :05:25.As far as I understood it, it was a holiday.

:05:26. > :05:31.Within weeks, the boy's family had one evening come down en masse

:05:32. > :05:39.I was stood there, thinking, I don't want this.

:05:40. > :05:42.I can't live like this and I can't live here.

:05:43. > :05:46.In Pakistan, Rashida refused to take part in the ceremonx.

:05:47. > :05:50.The consequences were violent and the situation desperate.

:05:51. > :05:54.I got pushed onto floors, I got hit and I got beaten.

:05:55. > :06:03.I honestly believed that I was going to die there.

:06:04. > :06:09.Every year in the UK, it's estimated 8,000 women `re

:06:10. > :06:15.In 2008, the Labour governmdnt did bring intervention orders

:06:16. > :06:22.Now it's punishable by up to seven years in prison.

:06:23. > :06:25.Forced marriage is a fundamental breach of hum`n rights

:06:26. > :06:28.that robs people of the opportunity to choose their own future.

:06:29. > :06:31.The government is now working with police forces

:06:32. > :06:35.and charities to launch a joint campaign against forced marriage.

:06:36. > :06:38.Children as young as 12 call ChildLine, with numbers

:06:39. > :06:47.There are a number of victims out there who I know would have

:06:48. > :06:51.reported, had it been a criminal offence, had that been open to them.

:06:52. > :06:55.There have been prosecutions locally of other offences that occur as

:06:56. > :07:01.a result, but this is a law change that we are fully supporting.

:07:02. > :07:04.But not everyone thinks the change in law is a positive thing.

:07:05. > :07:17.This lady is a family lawyer based in Luton.

:07:18. > :07:19.I feel crimilalisng it has little effect other than deterring young

:07:20. > :07:26.Everybody says it will prevdnt victims coming forward.

:07:27. > :07:35.Rashida is now working with police to raise awareness

:07:36. > :07:40.She is hoping it will encourage others to find the strength

:07:41. > :07:48.Anita Prem from the Norfolk based charhty

:07:49. > :07:51.Freedom2Choose has been a ldading campaigner against forced marriage.

:07:52. > :07:53.She's delighted with the new law and is confident that cases will get

:07:54. > :08:00.I don't think anyone would want to send a family member to prison

:08:01. > :08:06.If you look at forced marri`ge for young people as child abuse, who

:08:07. > :08:09.would say it is OK for that person not face the full weight of the law?

:08:10. > :08:11.There are other alternatives, of course,

:08:12. > :08:16.but ultimately for the most serious cases prison has to be an option.

:08:17. > :08:20.The government figures and the figures in reality, for every one

:08:21. > :08:22.case the government gets to hear about, you reckon there are eight

:08:23. > :08:28.So it's not going to make any difference to those people.

:08:29. > :08:31.It's going to make a huge difference.

:08:32. > :08:34.If people feel when they come forward and report that thex are

:08:35. > :08:39.In Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex they are doing a tremendous amount

:08:40. > :08:41.of work, the police forces, to make sure they have

:08:42. > :08:44.the correct training and resources available to support people.

:08:45. > :08:47.As a charity in the area, we are working closely with social

:08:48. > :08:50.services to make sure that someone comes forward is taken seriously.

:08:51. > :08:53.And also working in the community to spot the signs

:08:54. > :09:00.Who will come forward though, out of the family, if

:09:01. > :09:03.the young woman is away in ` foreign country being forced into marriage?

:09:04. > :09:12.Ordinary people in ordinary streets will come forward and report.

:09:13. > :09:14.And that's why Freedom Charity, we have set up

:09:15. > :09:21.By working in schools in thd region, we can educate young men

:09:22. > :09:23.and women as to the dangers of forced marriage.

:09:24. > :09:26.And if you do force someone into marriage,

:09:27. > :09:36.We can't be politically correct around it.

:09:37. > :09:39.We have to stop it now and now we have got the law on our side

:09:40. > :09:41.As a charity, we are pleased with the help that is

:09:42. > :09:47.There will be somebody watching this this evening who is worried about

:09:48. > :09:50.a young girl, they think solething bad may have happened to her.

:09:51. > :09:55.I would say pick up the phone now and speak to

:09:56. > :10:04.If you are that one person, doing nothing isn't an option

:10:05. > :10:07.because the alternative life you would have would be so horrhfic

:10:08. > :10:23.A teenager has admitted illegally owning a gun which was fired

:10:24. > :10:25.accidentally at a five`year`old boy during a cops and robbers g`me.

:10:26. > :10:27.18`year`old Johnny Wilson from Wickford was looking

:10:28. > :10:29.after the child at his home when the shooting happened, seriously

:10:30. > :10:33.Basildon Crown Court heard the children had found the gun

:10:34. > :10:41.Plans have gone on display for a giant wind farm

:10:42. > :10:47.Up to 172 turbines would be built as part of the East Anglia Three

:10:48. > :10:51.site, which would be about 42 miles off the coast from Lowestoft.

:10:52. > :10:54.One of the oldest golf clubs in the region conducted

:10:55. > :10:56.a witch hunt against a member of staff according to a judge

:10:57. > :11:02.Margaret Chadwick was sacked by Aldeburgh Golf Club two years ago.

:11:03. > :11:04.The club has been ordered to pay Mrs Chadwick ?50,000 in compensation

:11:05. > :11:17.Margaret Chadwick has won hdr case but feels no sense of triumph. There

:11:18. > :11:26.were no complaints about her the golf club until a new club

:11:27. > :11:31.secretary arrived. The judgd said Mr Beckett had come from Hadley

:11:32. > :11:37.his dictatorial manner saw him referred to as the Ayatollah. We

:11:38. > :11:41.started finding full with Mrs Chadwick's work. One cannot get away

:11:42. > :11:46.from the feeling that the claimant was the victim of nothing short of a

:11:47. > :11:51.witchhunt, said the judge. When Mrs about alleged bullying, the judge

:11:52. > :12:00.said the captain misunderstanding of bullying and

:12:01. > :12:03.harassment. Tim Rowan Robinson took over as club captain two months ago.

:12:04. > :12:08.The whole thing has been an unfortunate incident. We were

:12:09. > :12:11.surprised by the strength of the judgement. We took legal advice and

:12:12. > :12:16.we were surprised at the strength of the judgement at the end. What do

:12:17. > :12:22.you say to Mrs Chadwick very sorry she has been through this

:12:23. > :12:28.process. unfortunate and I understand she has

:12:29. > :12:35.been upset by it. What did it this? I haven't got any confidence

:12:36. > :12:45.any do it and do it now. Did that wear

:12:46. > :12:50.you down? Oh, yes. I did sax to him, it's akin to bullying.

:12:51. > :12:55.it done. It didn't matter what I achieved. It wasn't enough. This has

:12:56. > :13:02.really floored me. So many people that I thought... Super people.

:13:03. > :13:07.Doing this to me... I couldn't work out why. Why? I've got to move on

:13:08. > :13:14.for my family, but I will need for my family, but I will nded help

:13:15. > :13:17.to do that. The judge referred to Mr Beckett's manner as sometimds

:13:18. > :13:21.aggressive and intimidating. But the club said it had confidence in its

:13:22. > :13:40.secretary tonight. Still to come, the long Phil Noble.

:13:41. > :13:44.Plus the tennis stars raising money in honour of Elena.

:13:45. > :13:47.There is a warning tonight about an increase in bee rustling.

:13:48. > :13:49.The thieves arrive during the night when the hive is

:13:50. > :13:52.full and take the whole thing with thousands of bees inside.

:13:53. > :13:55.Of course, the bees don't lhke being disturbed and if you don't

:13:56. > :13:58.know what you are doing you can end up getting stung many times.

:13:59. > :14:04.There is also a risk to the bee population.

:14:05. > :14:15.They backed the vehicle in, down beside there. The first one went

:14:16. > :14:22.back here. Thieves recently tried to steal six hives from Eric. They got

:14:23. > :14:26.tipped over and would have resulted in half a million angry

:14:27. > :14:30.after them. If there were any lights, they would go towards them

:14:31. > :14:37.and hopefully give them a peppering. These are just some of

:14:38. > :14:46.his bees. He has 30 hives in total. He has had hives stolen in the past.

:14:47. > :14:49.This will protect me from the bees? That's it. You won't get sttng. He

:14:50. > :14:53.says without the right equipment, anyone who tries to take beehives

:14:54. > :14:59.might make a few hundred potnds could put their lives at risk. If

:15:00. > :15:06.they weren't geared up with a quick takeaway, they would

:15:07. > :15:14.probably get stung a because I have been stung a couple

:15:15. > :15:23.of hundred times used to be home to 80,000 bees. They

:15:24. > :15:36.had been nurtured over the last more than three miles away otherwise

:15:37. > :15:46.they would crops. John was pretty devastated,

:15:47. > :15:58.losing a hide the year before message for the thieves. Potentially

:15:59. > :16:08.a very dangerous from a single sting, anaphylactic

:16:09. > :16:17.shock. The clear message to the around 100,000 bees working in here,

:16:18. > :16:29.if you put your hand on the top create a virus which can kill them

:16:30. > :16:40.and also spread to other years to build up these colonies and

:16:41. > :16:43.just minutes to steal them. Earlier this year, Elena was

:16:44. > :16:44.diagnosed with liver cancer. She was just 30 years old

:16:45. > :16:49.when she died last month. They called the fundraising

:16:50. > :16:52.the Rally For Bally, and among the stars taking part, Andy

:16:53. > :17:07.Murray and Martina Navratilova. It was tennis's tribute. The biggest

:17:08. > :17:13.names, past and present, rallying for ball macroy. She was amazing,

:17:14. > :17:19.one of my favourite people hn the world. She gave it absolutely

:17:20. > :17:22.everything, she maxed out on everything she had. She battled

:17:23. > :17:28.significant illnesses and injuries. Elena Baltacha's deaths frol liver

:17:29. > :17:31.cancer at the age of 30 has shocked the sport. The matches yestdrday in

:17:32. > :17:38.Birmingham, London and where religiously planned to lift

:17:39. > :17:44.her when she was ill, instead they were played in her

:17:45. > :17:53.with a lot of adversity in her career. To be playing in thd

:17:54. > :18:00.more and more over the years, you understand what

:18:01. > :18:13.was. Elena Baltacha battled for years with liver disease but it

:18:14. > :18:24.eight cancer charity and thd Elena Baltacha Academy of tennis.

:18:25. > :18:32.thick. It's great for her mdmory. I am a tennis coach so I

:18:33. > :18:41.more opportunities on court. Her death will help so

:18:42. > :18:50.penny of it, me and the other trustees

:18:51. > :18:59.that I know my wife would have wanted that money to be spent.

:19:00. > :19:13.she seemed totally at home. Today, back to hard

:19:14. > :19:20.home. Today, back to hard training with coach Jamie other lettdralle.

:19:21. > :19:27.enough to spend a bit of tile, very proud

:19:28. > :19:34.court with the probes. Rallx for Bally has raised ?60,000.

:19:35. > :19:39.to become a star thanks to tennis's true champion. Within the last few

:19:40. > :19:44.minutes, a foal of the legendary Newmarket racehorse Frankel has been

:19:45. > :19:46.sold in central London. His mum was sold as well. GE is called Crystal

:19:47. > :19:56.Gaze. A foal is just a few lonths old and is literally a horsd with no

:19:57. > :20:03.name. `` is called Crystal Gaze The foal has been sold together with his

:20:04. > :20:10.the first offspring from Frankel to come under the hammer. Thesd

:20:11. > :20:17.pictures were taken just before the auction at Kensington Palacd in

:20:18. > :20:21.London. The mayor is expecthng her second foal from Frankel next year.

:20:22. > :20:25.Frankel is the world 's top rated racehorse, having never been

:20:26. > :20:30.beaten. He retired last year after winning all 14 races. He was trained

:20:31. > :20:36.by the renowned horse traindr Sir Henry Cecil, who sadly lost his

:20:37. > :20:40.battle with cancer last year. Frankel's breeding career h`s been

:20:41. > :20:48.very successful. He has alrdady beaten what he earned on thd track.

:20:49. > :20:52.His stud fee was set at ?124,00 a time, so it's looking very

:20:53. > :20:59.promising! You get three for the price of two! Buy one, get one free.

:21:00. > :21:05.We both watched the football on Saturday night but we had different

:21:06. > :21:10.experiences, you watched with the sound down. Because my wife had gone

:21:11. > :21:14.to bed and she was in the bedroom to bed and she was in the bedroom

:21:15. > :21:16.above. So thoughtful! I watched it in complete silence, but you

:21:17. > :21:19.in complete silence, but yot watched it with your husband fast asleep

:21:20. > :21:26.beside you. He did wake point to say, why aren't we watching

:21:27. > :21:31.this in HD? I was following it on Twitter website.

:21:32. > :21:39.about the commentary wilder than the website. `` rather than the website.

:21:40. > :21:43.Here is Mike with tonight's roundup. With 15 million people watching on

:21:44. > :21:48.Saturday night, you might thought England fans would have been

:21:49. > :21:57.interested in the football. COMMENTATOR: Through the crowd, into

:21:58. > :22:04.the net! But instead they wdre more interested in this man's commentary.

:22:05. > :22:08.COMMENTATOR: Wonderful work. The BBC's co`commentator was the former

:22:09. > :22:13.England defender Phil Neville. Only his delivery lacked a little punch,

:22:14. > :22:16.his delivery lacked a littld punch, shall we say. Not a huge problem,

:22:17. > :22:19.only that a lot of England fans on twitter sent Rudra Marx to Phil

:22:20. > :22:22.Neville from Suffolk, who sdlls Neville from Suffolk, who sells

:22:23. > :22:30.designer... `` sent Rudra mdssages. designer... `` sent Rudra messages.

:22:31. > :22:35.In all honesty, most of the photos were like Phil Neville's commentary,

:22:36. > :22:37.were like Phil Neville's colmentary, not all that interesting, but hey,

:22:38. > :22:42.not all that interesting, btt hey, let's try again on Thursday. If you

:22:43. > :22:51.want a real party, you need to get to the George pub in to feel, near

:22:52. > :22:55.Towcester town. The regular John is taking this flag with him. Hf

:22:56. > :23:02.gets it on the telly, the landlord has promised to give him a firkin of

:23:03. > :23:07.a, that's nine gallons. We know we can get these on the TV. It is just

:23:08. > :23:13.being in the right place whdn the a pint if the cameras catch sight of

:23:14. > :23:25.the flag. I think he will do it. He in the right position, it will be on

:23:26. > :23:30.and it would be a pleasure to volunteering in the Maracan`. She

:23:31. > :23:35.had her Argentina versus Bosnia. A leet and

:23:36. > :23:41.greet role. helping them find their seats. Just

:23:42. > :23:46.welcoming them to end of the game, pointing towards

:23:47. > :23:55.the exit and thanking the match but she didn't sed the

:23:56. > :24:03.Lionel Messi goal. COMMENTATOR: Messi scores estimation

:24:04. > :24:07.mark Lionel Messi! The power went off in this pub 20 minutes from time

:24:08. > :24:12.in the England game and use candles. For everyone in the

:24:13. > :24:22.Rose, I didn't see any photos of xour

:24:23. > :24:27.sleeping husband! He is not worth seeing! I think he looks very nice

:24:28. > :24:42.awake. He is not going to thank you When I spoke to you this time last

:24:43. > :24:48.week, Essex had just seen the warmest day of the year so far in

:24:49. > :24:53.the whole country. They reached 26.5 Celsius, with many other

:24:54. > :24:57.far behind. What a difference a week has made. Today, temperatures for

:24:58. > :25:01.these places and for many of eight ` 10 degrees lower. A chilly

:25:02. > :25:07.north to north`easterly wind and awful lot of cloud for most of the
