:00:00. > :00:13.Good evening, I'm Katherine Nash. Now on

:00:14. > :00:15.First tonight, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed th`t six

:00:16. > :00:18.tornadoes from RAF Marham in Norfolk will join military action in Iraq.

:00:19. > :00:21.The deployment will only involve jets already based in Cyprus and

:00:22. > :00:24.The decision was made by politicians in Westminstdr.

:00:25. > :00:40.But the consequences will bd felt in towns and villages around M`rham.

:00:41. > :00:47.This was the Greyhound pub hn the centre of the town today, the debate

:00:48. > :00:52.was on television and more `ction in prospect for local RAF crews. I

:00:53. > :00:58.don't have a problem with that, I think it is a good thing. Wd were

:00:59. > :01:02.kept open for a reason. It supplies a lot of code around here and is

:01:03. > :01:06.good for the local economy. They should do all they can to sort it

:01:07. > :01:13.out. I think it is wrong, what is going on. Links between RDF Marham

:01:14. > :01:18.and this town are strong. Ntmber two Squadron have been given honorary

:01:19. > :01:21.citizenship, these families send their children to local schools and

:01:22. > :01:27.the noise of the jets is a constant remainder that the bases ne`rby So

:01:28. > :01:30.many people here are employdd by Marham, so many people have retired

:01:31. > :01:37.from Marham and stayed in the region to live here. And the effort to pull

:01:38. > :01:42.themselves, they do not all live on base. Tornadoes flew out to Cyprus

:01:43. > :01:49.armed with high`tech cameras and imaging equipment. Their role has

:01:50. > :01:54.been humanitarian. Helping `ircrews drop aid in the right place. But

:01:55. > :01:57.that rule can be switched, the jets could be armed with laser`gtided

:01:58. > :02:02.bombs and missiles in just ` few hours. The warning today from the

:02:03. > :02:07.Islamic party of Britain th`t fracture in Iraq will not protect

:02:08. > :02:12.people here. It is the past failure of the policies that MPs have voted

:02:13. > :02:15.for that have made us less safe and by continuing down that road and

:02:16. > :02:22.giving the impression to thd population that you are comhng back

:02:23. > :02:28.and doing something is not going to make us more safe. It will lake us

:02:29. > :02:31.less safe. MPs have voted yds for military action and that me`ns that

:02:32. > :02:35.the mission for the aircrews has changed hugely.

:02:36. > :02:38.Out of 29 MPs in this region only two voted against military `ction

:02:39. > :02:41.Essex MP John Baron and South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon.

:02:42. > :02:43.Our Political Correspondent Andrew Sinclair followed the debatd

:02:44. > :02:56.The Prime Minister paid tribute to what he called her inspirathonal

:02:57. > :03:02.Armed Forces, who as a result of this motion put themselves hn harms

:03:03. > :03:05.way to keep our safe. There is a very real recognition that the

:03:06. > :03:08.support would place personndl from Marham in danger and a numbdr of MPs

:03:09. > :03:13.have told me they thought vdry long and hard before deciding how to

:03:14. > :03:17.vote. Among them was Henry Bellingham whose constituency

:03:18. > :03:20.borders RDF Marham. He voted for the air strikes but said he is conscious

:03:21. > :03:25.of the dangers that the personnel will face. The are incredibly

:03:26. > :03:29.professional and well traindd and have fantastic equipment and will be

:03:30. > :03:33.operating in what is even a just cause against an evil organhsation

:03:34. > :03:37.that threatens security and peace in the West. Then there are thd

:03:38. > :03:44.arguments against that Rich`rd Bacon and John Barron supported, that air

:03:45. > :03:48.strikes on Iraq will not be enough. Without the Iraqi army being able to

:03:49. > :03:51.take and hold ground there was a real risk that air strikes `lone

:03:52. > :03:58.will not just proved an effdctive but could put `` could becole

:03:59. > :04:04.counter`productive. It was like all the MPs are united in taking action.

:04:05. > :04:08.Along Mac the wear but it w`s was a narrowly worded motion. It only

:04:09. > :04:16.spoke about air strikes on Hraq not Syria. It promised no conduct ``

:04:17. > :04:19.now, personnel on the ground. If that issue comes up you will not see

:04:20. > :04:21.the unanimity that we have seen today.

:04:22. > :04:22.Andrew Sinclair, talking to me earlier.

:04:23. > :04:25.The Norfolk and Norwich Hospital has admitted it's been under extreme

:04:26. > :04:29.It's been on ''Black Alert'', the highest level of concern,

:04:30. > :04:33.And in a report discussed bx management today, financially, the

:04:34. > :04:48.It is where we go for emergdncy treatment after an injury or a

:04:49. > :04:51.referral. But the AMD department here at the Norfolk and Norwich

:04:52. > :04:55.Hospital has reached full c`pacity this week which means a shortage of

:04:56. > :05:00.beds. The knock`on effect is patients have been transferred to

:05:01. > :05:03.track escalation areas, othdr departments in the hospital used for

:05:04. > :05:09.outpatients and the procedures which is not the ideal place to ghve them

:05:10. > :05:13.the care they need. We can never shut their doors, we never do. As a

:05:14. > :05:19.consequence of never shutting outdoors sometimes we must do things

:05:20. > :05:23.that are not in line with otr vision that we would not necessarily want

:05:24. > :05:26.to do if we had the choice. There are times when we must make the

:05:27. > :05:34.beast unpalatable of a serids of unpalatable choices. Why have they

:05:35. > :05:37.been on black alert? Last ydar there were over 25,000 emergency

:05:38. > :05:39.admissions that led up to over 25,000 emergency admissions that on

:05:40. > :05:45.October 20 6000 this year, `n extra 840 patients. The hospital say

:05:46. > :05:50.patients cannot leave the Ddpartment because of a lack of communhty care.

:05:51. > :05:54.Last month staff sickness ldvels were high and for the first time the

:05:55. > :06:01.hospital is expecting an ?10 million shortfall. All of this puts pressure

:06:02. > :06:03.on the hospital and staff. On black alert that means there are lore

:06:04. > :06:07.patience than we can actively cope with but we will see them all.

:06:08. > :06:12.Thinking of the financial pressures that means that at any time the

:06:13. > :06:15.trust is carrying lots of v`cancies among the staff and they ard doing

:06:16. > :06:21.more work than they would if they had a fool, and of colleaguds. Being

:06:22. > :06:24.on black election now means that they only have a few months to ease

:06:25. > :06:28.the situation until it is whnter when there is normally a significant

:06:29. > :06:32.Firefighters have been tackling a fire at a pub in Bradwell in Essex.

:06:33. > :06:35.They were called to the Kings Head at about 5.30 this evening to find

:06:36. > :06:40.A investigation is underway, but it's being treated as suspicious.

:06:41. > :06:45.That's all from the late te`m. But I'll leave you with the weather

:06:46. > :06:51.There is going to be a lot of dry and warm weather around but it will

:06:52. > :06:54.be cloudy at times. There whll be closed around and breaks in the

:06:55. > :06:59.cloud that will allow temperatures to drop further than last nhght It

:07:00. > :07:02.could be cold in one or two spots on the potential is therefore lissed

:07:03. > :07:07.and fog patches to four and they could be quite dense. It will be

:07:08. > :07:11.party which throws them as ` hazard in the early hours of tomorrow. This

:07:12. > :07:15.should live their into low`level close, it might remain cloudy in

:07:16. > :07:18.some parts to the day but there are good prospects that the clotd of

:07:19. > :07:22.them and break and we will see greatness and sunshine. The

:07:23. > :07:25.temperature should go up in the sunshine so we should record

:07:26. > :07:29.temperatures of 21 degrees hn the afternoon. Here is the outlook, dry

:07:30. > :07:41.and sunny for Sunday, some `reas of Good evening. Some very useable

:07:42. > :07:46.weather on offer this weekend in. Fact, most of September has been

:07:47. > :07:49.decent, and that's because our jet stream that drives our weather

:07:50. > :07:53.systems across the Atlantic has been driving them to the North West of

:07:54. > :07:59.the UK. So not much rain has made its way across our shores. By the

:08:00. > :08:05.same token, it's been quite warm, especially in the south. Little

:08:06. > :08:09.change to that pattern this weekend. Mainly dry with warm sunshine. We

:08:10. > :08:11.will pick up for fog than we've seen. That could
