:00:00. > :00:12.industry. We are back with

:00:13. > :00:16.Good evening. Let's start with that Prince William

:00:17. > :00:20.story. He's coming to Cambridge University in the New Year to study

:00:21. > :00:23.farm management. The Duke of Cambridge, who spent Christmas at

:00:24. > :00:27.Sandringham in Norfolk, will begin his studies early next month. It's

:00:28. > :00:30.believed the 10`week course will help him prepare for the day when he

:00:31. > :00:41.inherits the Duchy of Cornwall estate. The course will run until

:00:42. > :00:48.mid March, with around 20 seminars a week. It will educate the Duke on

:00:49. > :00:53.issues facing rural communities. We've seen that Prince taking a lot

:00:54. > :00:58.more of the Queen's duties. We will see Prince William take on more of

:00:59. > :01:05.Prince Charles duties as well. Ban Prince William last visited his

:01:06. > :01:18.namesake city in 2012. There he paid tribute to the University's role in

:01:19. > :01:25.making the city famous. Print William graduated from Cambridge

:01:26. > :01:28.five years ago. He is expected to live in Cambridge part`time. He and

:01:29. > :01:34.Kate will also spend time at their country home in Norfolk.

:01:35. > :01:38.Army bomb disposal experts were sent to Suffolk today after reports that

:01:39. > :01:41.an old wartime shell had been uncovered on a beach. The emergency

:01:42. > :01:44.services were called to Walberswick. The Coastguard service believes the

:01:45. > :01:49.shell was washed onto the beach in rough seas, but had disappeared by

:01:50. > :01:53.the time the army arrived. The police in Suffolk have made a

:01:54. > :01:56.new appeal for information after a man was shot in the leg at the

:01:57. > :02:00.weekend. The shooting happened near Cordy's Lane in Trimley, St Mary, on

:02:01. > :02:06.Saturday afternoon. The victim has now been released from hospital and

:02:07. > :02:09.returned to his home in London. Staff at the City Hospital in

:02:10. > :02:14.Peterborough are putting on so`called "fat suits" to help them

:02:15. > :02:17.deal with bigger patients. Figures from the NHS show the number of

:02:18. > :02:21.obese people in the UK has almost doubled over the last 20 years. The

:02:22. > :02:27.hospital wants staff to understand what patients have to go through.

:02:28. > :02:33.Got our patient here. Found from her notes she's got limited mobility.

:02:34. > :02:38.It weighs just six kilos, but has transformed Julie into a 40`stone

:02:39. > :02:42.patient. This is the first time I've actually

:02:43. > :02:46.been in it, horizontal and laying flat, and found it quite

:02:47. > :02:50.uncomfortable to be flat on my back. I find it difficult to breathe as it

:02:51. > :02:53.restricts my airways. 1000 people are being trained here

:02:54. > :02:58.with the special obesity, or bariatric suit.

:02:59. > :03:00.As time goes on, we are noticing an increase of bariatric patients

:03:01. > :03:03.coming into the trust, so having staff prepared and preprepared with

:03:04. > :03:05.the knowledge of dealing with a bariatric patient ` it's not

:03:06. > :03:15.different techniques, it's techniques we already use, but in a

:03:16. > :03:20.different format. Are you OK? I'm fine.

:03:21. > :03:24.The largest patient they have treated here was 55 stone, but now

:03:25. > :03:31.most of its morbidly obese patients tip the scales at between 35 and 45

:03:32. > :03:35.stone. Some of those patients actually lead

:03:36. > :03:39.a very restrictive life at home, so there could be an embarrassment

:03:40. > :03:43.element. We have to make sure we have got the right tact to take with

:03:44. > :03:46.that patient, the right manner, and actually make that patient feel

:03:47. > :03:50.supported in a way that is appropriate for their care on that

:03:51. > :03:54.particular day. The suit was bought for ?1000 by a

:03:55. > :03:58.hospital charity. Its value is immeasurable.

:03:59. > :04:00.Looking at the dignity of the patient, we notice staff are

:04:01. > :04:05.thinking slightly differently as well, taking the patient's dignity

:04:06. > :04:08.into consideration. It can limit injuries to staff

:04:09. > :04:16.lifting patients, and helps them understand the changing population.

:04:17. > :04:19.BBC Look East. In football, Ipswich Town go into

:04:20. > :04:23.the New Year in the play`off places in the Championship after their 1`1

:04:24. > :04:27.draw at Bournemouth yesterday. But in the Premier League, Norwich City

:04:28. > :04:30.are looking for their first win of the Christmas period after two

:04:31. > :04:34.defeats in a row. What a difference a year makes. At

:04:35. > :04:38.the start of 2013, Ipswich Town were in the bottom six of the

:04:39. > :04:42.Championship. At year's end, they've made it to the top six, the

:04:43. > :04:46.play`offs. They did it with a 1`1 draw at Bournemouth, with a goal

:04:47. > :04:50.from Daryl Murphy. It caps a great run for Ipswich, unbeaten in seven

:04:51. > :04:54.games. They haven't lost away since September.

:04:55. > :04:59.If you don't get beaten too often, you've got to be doing OK. We did

:05:00. > :05:04.have a spell where we were picking up draws. But I think a draw away

:05:05. > :05:07.from home... Bournemouth are a good side, they've got some good

:05:08. > :05:10.footballers, and I think it's a pleasing point.

:05:11. > :05:14.Halfway through the season, Norwich City are three points clear of the

:05:15. > :05:18.Premier League relegation zone. But for the fans, it still doesn't feel

:05:19. > :05:23.comfortable. Christmas cheer has been sorely lacking at Carrow Road

:05:24. > :05:27.with two home defeats. Yesterday, they took the game to Manchester

:05:28. > :05:30.United, but the game just didn't go their way.

:05:31. > :05:33.We didn't have a very good Christmas at all last season. So, in the

:05:34. > :05:38.scheme of things, what you want to do is win these games because it

:05:39. > :05:43.takes you into the New Year on a bit of a high. But it is about the games

:05:44. > :05:47.over the season. Norwich need to put the Man United

:05:48. > :05:51.defeat behind them when they play Crystal Palace tomorrow. Palace are

:05:52. > :05:54.just three points behind them, just above the relegation zone. It's a

:05:55. > :06:02.game Norwich have to win to survive. BBC Look East.

:06:03. > :06:05.Boat owners are being warned NOT to use the region's swollen rivers.

:06:06. > :06:09.Strong currents are making the fast`moving water treacherous.

:06:10. > :06:13.There's a flood alert on the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire, and

:06:14. > :06:17.with more rain predicted in the next few days, the Environment Agency is

:06:18. > :06:20.advising people to stay away. At Holywell near St Ives this morning,

:06:21. > :06:25.one boat was beached by the rising water.

:06:26. > :06:27.It is very bad weather at the moment, but we're expecting about

:06:28. > :06:33.5mm of rainfall across Cambridgeshire and the wider

:06:34. > :06:36.catchments. We may well need to issue some flood alerts in the

:06:37. > :06:44.coming days and over the New Year, but we are very unlikely to be

:06:45. > :06:50.issuing any flood warnings. Time for the weather.

:06:51. > :06:57.More wet and windy weather across the region. If you turn to the west,

:06:58. > :07:02.there is a big row coming in for tomorrow. Behind that one, yet

:07:03. > :07:08.another one. That has a site set for New Year's Day. Full the time being,

:07:09. > :07:12.things are getting quieter. Quite chilly over the next few hours.

:07:13. > :07:16.Getting down to three or four degrees. After midnight, the breeze

:07:17. > :07:20.pushes back in. The breeze will pick up and some rain coming in towards

:07:21. > :07:23.the end of the night. But most northern areas will stay dry. The

:07:24. > :07:28.breeze will pick up. Temperatures rising by the end of tonight, sofa

:07:29. > :07:32.tomorrow, clouds and outbreaks of rain. Not raining the whole time.

:07:33. > :07:38.There will be a band of heavy rain working its way east. It will be

:07:39. > :07:46.quite a windy day, especially without rain. Quite mild, though. 10

:07:47. > :07:55.degrees. Through the evening, New Year's Eve, celebrations outside, a

:07:56. > :07:58.lot of clear sky actually. As you go towards the evening, more cloud from

:07:59. > :08:04.the West. Perhaps bringing more showers. Generally, the further is

:08:05. > :08:10.due out, the drier it tends to be. Temperatures at midnight about five

:08:11. > :08:15.or six degrees. Winds about 25 mph. The first day of 2014 starts drier,

:08:16. > :08:18.but some rain through the afternoon. Hopefully, clearing

:08:19. > :08:21.overnight, so by Thursday looking a bit brighter.

:08:22. > :08:25.That's it. Thank you very much. There's a late news bulletin from

:08:26. > :08:39.Look East at 10:20 tonight. Have a good evening.

:08:40. > :08:46.Another day off strong winds, heavy rain and flooding. At least things

:08:47. > :08:50.are quiet at the moment. The rain has cleared off and the wind is

:08:51. > :08:56.lighter. There might be some ice in Scotland, but through the night, the

:08:57. > :09:01.wind picks up, lifting temperatures, but more heavy rain pushing in. The

:09:02. > :09:06.rain band is not quite a significant us today, but it will leave surface

:09:07. > :09:12.water flooding. Some heavy bursts clearing Northern Ireland by first

:09:13. > :09:17.light. It reaches the east coast by the time we get to lunchtime, after

:09:18. > :09:22.a few morning showers. The wind is falling lighter, easing down from

:09:23. > :09:25.the gusty nature. A bit of sunshine through the afternoon. The

:09:26. > :09:29.temperature is a bit higher than they should be at this stage of the

:09:30. > :09:30.year. Some showers
