:00:13. > :00:13.Good evening. creator, Richard Rik Mayall.

:00:14. > :00:16.Cambridge Airport denies passenger safety has been put at risk after

:00:17. > :00:19.the BBC uncovered leaked em`ils raising issues with air traffic

:00:20. > :00:22.The documents detail conversations between senior managers

:00:23. > :00:43.Passengers boarding the first new city Jet flight to Dublin l`st

:00:44. > :00:49.month. A new airline ` part of the airport's expansion. Behind the

:00:50. > :00:54.scenes it is a different story. We found an airport worker who did not

:00:55. > :01:01.want to be identified. I'd don't recommend friends or family flying

:01:02. > :01:09.out of the airport, especially in the summer. This is a busy `irport.

:01:10. > :01:15.20,000 aircraft use it each year, from gliders to military jets.

:01:16. > :01:21.Horses are even delivered to nearby and Newmarket. The second

:01:22. > :01:26.whistle`blower handed me e`lails dating back to last year. M`nagement

:01:27. > :01:38.spoke about chronic short staffing, the walls being ended and preaching

:01:39. > :01:45.CAA regulations. Also, new flights to Europe put pressure on the

:01:46. > :01:54.control tower. A manager colplains about underfunding. Also, l`nding

:01:55. > :02:01.aids are antique and fail frequently. We have just taken off

:02:02. > :02:06.from Cambridge Airport. We `re at 2000 feet. This is uncontrolled

:02:07. > :02:11.airspace. It means we don't have to let anyone know we are here,

:02:12. > :02:18.including the tower below us. It is clear the runway is wearing. Plans

:02:19. > :02:26.for a new one art on hold, `ccording to one whistle`blower. I saw a jet

:02:27. > :02:32.taking off and noticed it h`d debris stuck to one of its main whdels The

:02:33. > :02:38.airport is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority. It has known

:02:39. > :02:42.about the problems the years, at the airport has passed its safety

:02:43. > :02:49.inspections. We took our findings to an aviation expert. It is worrying

:02:50. > :03:00.that and airport will cut corners to cut costs.

:03:01. > :03:07.The CAA would not comment on our reports, but said they would

:03:08. > :03:10.consider any further allegations. In a statement, Cambridge Ahrport

:03:11. > :03:13.told us it has recruited three extra air traffic controllers and will

:03:14. > :03:16.refurbish the runway next ydar. It says, we utterly refute

:03:17. > :03:19.the implied allegations that safety Safety, above all,

:03:20. > :03:25.is of paramount importance. An Islamic school in Luton has been

:03:26. > :03:28.criticised by Ofsted after books with fundamentalist

:03:29. > :03:30.views were found in the library Olive Tree Primary has been rated as

:03:31. > :03:34.inadequate for not doing enough to It comes on the day six schools

:03:35. > :03:39.in Birmingham were put in special measures for failing to protect

:03:40. > :03:51.pupils from Islamic extremism. Inside the classroom that appears

:03:52. > :03:56.very little to set this apart from any other, but when Ofsted

:03:57. > :04:01.inspectors visited last month they raised a number of concerns. Today

:04:02. > :04:08.inspectors rated this school inadequate. They say there hs a lack

:04:09. > :04:13.of teaching about other relhgions and faiths, which the school

:04:14. > :04:23.project. We have had people from other faith and religions that have

:04:24. > :04:29.come into teaching. We reject what they are saying. Ofsted criticise

:04:30. > :04:38.the school library for not having other book on different relhgions.

:04:39. > :04:44.This is a staff library, not a child's library. These books are not

:04:45. > :04:50.made available to children. The report comes on the day Ofsted

:04:51. > :04:54.published its findings into allegations of extremism at a number

:04:55. > :05:00.of schools in Birmingham. Ofsted have told teachers at Olive Tree

:05:01. > :05:08.School that its curriculum needs to better prepare children for living

:05:09. > :05:12.in modern Britain. The school polls`macro governors say they

:05:13. > :05:16.reject the report today in hts entirety and are now seeking legal

:05:17. > :05:19.advice to decide their next move. Earlier I spoke to Gavin Shtker

:05:20. > :05:22.the MP for Luton South. I asked him what he made of Oftsed's

:05:23. > :05:25.report. Earlier I spoke to Gavin Shtker

:05:26. > :05:28.the MP for Luton South. I asked him what he made of Oftsed's

:05:29. > :05:44.report. It is both great concern. It is

:05:45. > :05:49.slightly different to the broader story in terms of the schools in

:05:50. > :05:56.Birmingham. Ofsted are not linking Olive Tree School with the schools

:05:57. > :06:00.in Birmingham, but what's information can you give to parents?

:06:01. > :06:05.It's up to parents where thdy want to send their children to school,

:06:06. > :06:11.but I am concerned that thex have released their report on thd same

:06:12. > :06:20.day as six Birmingham schools have been put into special measures. It

:06:21. > :06:26.is right that Ofsted did carry out this inspection. There are concerns

:06:27. > :06:32.about the way the school was targeted though. What impact will it

:06:33. > :06:36.have on the community in Luton? People will look at the report and

:06:37. > :06:43.see that we need to improve certain areas, but I don't think it is fair

:06:44. > :06:51.to jump to conclusions over allegations of extremism. Now it's

:06:52. > :06:54.time for the weather. The risk of heavy and thunddry

:06:55. > :07:00.showers continues and then everywhere should be tried by

:07:01. > :07:06.morning with patchy mist and fog. It will be extremely humid. Anx missed

:07:07. > :07:12.and Merck will clear to leave a fine and Friday spells sunshine `nd the

:07:13. > :07:21.chance of a feel isolated showers. It should be less humid with highs

:07:22. > :07:27.of 21 Celsius. We finished the day with a couple of showers, btt

:07:28. > :07:30.largely fine and dry. In a loment, the National forecast, but H will

:07:31. > :07:33.leave you with the forecast. of us, but I'll pass you overto Jay.

:07:34. > :07:46.-- over to jay now. Good evening, it was the warmest day

:07:47. > :07:49.of the year. Warm for some, but thundery for others. This line of

:07:50. > :07:55.really intense thunderstorms moved through. Large hail and gusty winds

:07:56. > :07:58.and rain as well. That moved away and now we look towards the south

:07:59. > :08:04.and you can see the rain moving northwards. So let's look at the

:08:05. > :08:06.cloud which is heading our way and some of it does look really quite
