:00:27. > :00:31.concerns about the treatment of women with psychological problems.

:00:32. > :00:34.The warning comes on the dax the Serco security group, which

:00:35. > :00:38.runs Yarl?s Wood, has been defending its handling of investigations

:00:39. > :00:46.What happened behind this pdrimeter fence has today been the subject

:00:47. > :00:53.Sexual allegations have been made and doubts raised about

:00:54. > :00:56.the way they were investigated by Serco.

:00:57. > :01:00.A former detainee at Yarl's Wood has spoken out, claiming gu`rds

:01:01. > :01:09.He came to my room and he touched me inapproprhately.

:01:10. > :01:18.But I later found out that he was actually sleeping around

:01:19. > :01:25.Noel worked at Yarl's Wood `s a mental health nurse two years ago.

:01:26. > :01:28.He says he repeatedly raised concerns about the assessment

:01:29. > :01:32.and treatment of women with psychological problems.

:01:33. > :01:41.of a patient of his with a history of self harm being assaulted.

:01:42. > :01:45.I was told that an individu`l has gone into her room and had

:01:46. > :01:52.The officer made it very cldar that there was an investigation

:01:53. > :01:56.Made it very clear that she had been assaulted

:01:57. > :02:03.You do not cross that line, it is quite simple.

:02:04. > :02:07.The private company that runs the centre came to Westminster

:02:08. > :02:11.today to answer some tough questions.

:02:12. > :02:15.Do you want to take this opportunity to apologise for those women who

:02:16. > :02:18.have had to make these allegations about the guards who work

:02:19. > :02:25.I would like to comment specifically on the report.

:02:26. > :02:29.Before I do that, your last point, we set very high standards

:02:30. > :02:35.On those instances where we have fallen short of

:02:36. > :02:39.the standards that we have set for ourselves, I absolutely am sorry

:02:40. > :02:44.Serco rejects there is an endemic culture of

:02:45. > :02:50.The committee said it wanted to hear the detainees' side

:02:51. > :02:54.of the story and plans to vhsit the centre in the near future.

:02:55. > :03:04.This at a time when the contract to run Yarl's Wood is up for rdnewal.

:03:05. > :03:06.An investigation is being rd`opened into the deaths of five people

:03:07. > :03:09.at a Northampton care home five years ago.

:03:10. > :03:12.The residents of the Parkside House and Nursing Home in St Matthew's

:03:13. > :03:23.Waseem Miza has the background to this case.

:03:24. > :03:32.Let me just remind you, first of all, this was about five elderly

:03:33. > :03:37.rep, residents in Northampton. All five died within the space of two

:03:38. > :03:43.weeks in 2009. `` five elderly residents. At the time, it was ruled

:03:44. > :03:47.they had died from natural causes but an investigation was latnched

:03:48. > :03:51.and found they had suffered from severe neglect. The home was closed

:03:52. > :03:56.down later and the remaining residents were moved elsewhdre. By

:03:57. > :04:01.the summer of 2009, the homd simply could not manage. As a result, the

:04:02. > :04:08.Nursing and Midwifery Counchl struck off five minutes members of staff.

:04:09. > :04:13.So why has the investigation been relaunched? `` five members of

:04:14. > :04:18.staff. Because the owner and her deputy appeared before the council.

:04:19. > :04:23.They were accused of failing to carry out basic duties. The police

:04:24. > :04:26.have reviewed this tribunal and are now reopening the criminal

:04:27. > :04:29.investigation. They want to speak to anyone else who may have had friends

:04:30. > :04:31.or relatives at Parkside during that time to come forward.

:04:32. > :04:33.A new acute cardiac unit is preparing to open

:04:34. > :04:37.The 62`bed ward building is part of a major redevelopment at

:04:38. > :04:41.It will mean people with urgent heart conditions can be assdssed

:04:42. > :04:51.At the front of the hospital ` the new ward building.

:04:52. > :04:55.Even the beds and equipment have not been put in yet.

:04:56. > :05:00.In just two weeks, these corridors and wards will be open to p`tients.

:05:01. > :05:03.This is where you would arrhve if you were referred urgently

:05:29. > :05:31.that unwell but needs a day of observation, perhaps a drip and

:05:32. > :05:36.antibiotics, they might movd across to the blue area in that direction,

:05:37. > :05:39.with the intention of staying in the hospital for 24 hours.

:05:40. > :05:43.They would be assessed the next morning by another consultant

:05:44. > :05:52.It is part of a wider ?170 lillion upgrade of the hospital.

:05:53. > :05:55.Over at the QE2 hospital, it will eventually only provide

:05:56. > :05:59.Anyone needing emergency treatment or a stay in hosphtal

:06:00. > :06:08.The trust says it has been paid for by the NHS, without using any

:06:09. > :06:11.private finance or high cost borrowing that has left trusts

:06:12. > :06:30.They are confident patients will approve when it opens on 8th July.

:06:31. > :06:35.One set of easyJet's flights could be cancelled tomorrow because of

:06:36. > :06:42.action by French air traffic controllers. Today, RyanAir has
