:01:00. > :01:03.in Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. NHS bosses have been looking

:02:52. > :03:06.of the official report say... The plan is 1 of 44 being c`rried

:03:40. > :03:43.some years before a final The report was leaked by the Mayor
:03:44. > :03:51.of Bedford, Dave Hodgson. Earlier he told me of his

:04:09. > :04:10.on to actually having answers They are important questions,
:04:11. > :04:13.though, aren't they? All NHS trusts have to tighten

:04:17. > :04:25.local councils have been asked The CCGs have been asked

:04:30. > :04:34.who do not need to go to the hospital don't go but get
:04:35. > :04:35.the appropriate care? Whether it be the pharmacy,
:04:36. > :04:39.the GP - or actually never go there because of the engagement
:04:40. > :04:40.of social care. Of course, we should be involved
:04:41. > :04:44.in terms of that cos we can stop There isn't any more
:04:45. > :04:47.certainty about maternity But given there's a shortagd
:04:48. > :04:50.of midwives across the country, isn't it better to consider one
:04:51. > :04:54.brilliant facility with the best Obviously, we are considering

:05:05. > :05:07.to deal with them. They have got no money to build
:05:08. > :05:09.new maternity facilities at Luton It is important that we do have
:05:10. > :05:15.those births in Bedford. Whether we have those births
:05:16. > :05:18.in Bedford or elsewhere, there is still a
:05:19. > :05:19.shortage of midwives. That is another issue that

:05:35. > :05:37.what's going to happen. It doesn't say that

:05:49. > :05:51.because it is being kept secret and Our health reporter
:05:52. > :05:59.Nikki Fox joins us now. Nikki, one of Mr Hodgson's concerns
:06:00. > :06:16.was the lack of attention Not necessarily. According to this
:06:17. > :06:21.plan, social care would get a 4 increase in its budget. In fairness
:06:22. > :06:25.to these local health care leaders, the big plan is to recruit `round

:06:31. > :06:34.complex care needs in the community, therefore lifting the burden from
:06:35. > :06:37.the hospital. The big thing is that an order for this to happen,

:07:00. > :07:04.stopped once it was decided that there would be in organisation
:07:05. > :07:08.across the country. There are 44 plans like this and NHS England
:07:09. > :07:13.doesn't want them to be published until the end of the month. In
:07:14. > :07:20.furnace to these health card leaders, they haven't actually been

:07:24. > :07:25.annoyed with the lack of transparency that this is that if it
