:00:38. > :00:39.arrested for flying to Turkey on holiday - the Muslim family

:00:40. > :00:41.demanding an apology from police. A move from technology giant Apple

:00:42. > :00:44.that could have big implications for tech firms here. And there is lots

:00:45. > :00:46.of dry weather on the way, courtesy of high pressure. All the details in

:00:47. > :00:47.your weather for the week ahead. A community worker from Luton

:00:48. > :00:50.is demanding an apology from the police after being arrested

:00:51. > :00:52.for terrorism offences. The man was stopped at Luton Airport

:00:53. > :00:55.with his wife and five children before boarding a flight to Turkey

:00:56. > :00:58.to go on holiday He was later released without

:00:59. > :01:01.charge, but says the experience has He spoke to Kate Bradbrook -

:01:02. > :01:06.and requested that we not reveal his identity because of his work

:01:07. > :01:07.in the community. They said, "We're arresting

:01:08. > :01:09.you under suspicion of..." A person that's never

:01:10. > :01:13.been in custody and never been arrested,

:01:14. > :01:15.I was confused, angry. At the same time as well,

:01:16. > :01:18.I was concerned about my children. This father of five,

:01:19. > :01:20.who doesn't want to be identified, was arrested at Luton Airport

:01:21. > :01:24.on his way to Turkey. He told me the reason police

:01:25. > :01:27.gave him was that he appeared But he was in fact

:01:28. > :01:33.flying back to Gatwick. They could actually have rung

:01:34. > :01:41.the airline and found out, When I look back, the only thing

:01:42. > :01:51.I can say is that the reason they done what they have to do to me

:01:52. > :01:55.and my family is because of my I was discriminated

:01:56. > :01:58.because of those two things. Counterterrorism police

:01:59. > :02:03.have a job to do. Sometimes, they're

:02:04. > :02:07.going to get it wrong. Well, they need to do their homework

:02:08. > :02:13.before they do something, then. The arrest led to the family's

:02:14. > :02:16.house being searched. They've gone through our

:02:17. > :02:24.personal belongings. My children do not feel safe

:02:25. > :02:27.in that house any more. Akbar Dad Khan from community group

:02:28. > :02:30.Building Bridges By and large, the police do go

:02:31. > :02:36.about their business But now and again, things of this

:02:37. > :02:47.nature do happen and I think the police should be big enough

:02:48. > :02:52.to say "On this occasion, The Metropolitan Police have

:02:53. > :02:59.acknowledged that the arrests were made and say no further

:03:00. > :03:01.action is being taken. They also said a complaint made

:03:02. > :03:07.by the family has now been referred to Counterterrorism Command's

:03:08. > :03:15.professional standards team. Well, earlier I spoke to a terrorism

:03:16. > :03:19.expert about this case. I asked Professor Anthony Glees,

:03:20. > :03:21.from the University of Buckingham, if police were justified

:03:22. > :03:27.in targeting an innocent man. Well, he has done nothing wrong,

:03:28. > :03:30.but the police needed to find out He presented as a potential

:03:31. > :03:37.for fighting in the so-called That was how he presented,

:03:38. > :03:46.given the fact that he had The fact that he had his family

:03:47. > :03:54.with him makes no difference. We know people with families have

:03:55. > :03:57.also gone on to do this. This must be a classic case

:03:58. > :03:59.of racial profiling. If they were a white British family,

:04:00. > :04:02.would they have been stopped? I think they would have been

:04:03. > :04:04.stopped, absolutely. As we know, we've had white British

:04:05. > :04:07.people go off to fight We've had black British people go

:04:08. > :04:11.off to fight for them. No, it's not really

:04:12. > :04:13.about racial profiling. But this man lost his holiday.

:04:14. > :04:16.His home was searched. He says it may cause

:04:17. > :04:19.damage to his reputation. Surely he deserves some sort

:04:20. > :04:21.of apology or compensation for that Well, I absolutely understand

:04:22. > :04:29.that this man, his wife and above all his children will have

:04:30. > :04:32.been very distressed by this But we have got to get

:04:33. > :04:37.real in this country. A one-way ticket to Turkey

:04:38. > :04:42.with your family is suspicious. Nobody who reads the newspapers,

:04:43. > :04:44.watches the television or listens to the radio can be in any doubt

:04:45. > :04:56.about that at all. The wreckage of a helicopter

:04:57. > :04:59.which crashed, killing five people from Milton Keynes, has been removed

:05:00. > :05:01.from the mountainside in Wales. Kevin, Ruth, Donald,

:05:02. > :05:03.Sharon and Barry Burke were all adult members

:05:04. > :05:05.of the same family. It's thought that Kevin

:05:06. > :05:07.Burke was the pilot. The wreckage will undergo

:05:08. > :05:09.a detailed examination by the Air Accident Investigation

:05:10. > :05:13.Board. The number of incidents involving

:05:14. > :05:16.drones in our region has rocketed In 2014, police dealt

:05:17. > :05:21.with 32 complaints - The Department for Transport

:05:22. > :05:27.is considering several measures including mandatory registration

:05:28. > :05:43.and tougher penalties. . Who take to the sky at this

:05:44. > :05:47.Northamptonshire flying school are now routinely trained to be aware of

:05:48. > :05:49.who take to the sky at this Northamptonshire flying school are

:05:50. > :05:52.now routinely trained to be aware come face-to-face with. Calum Bell,

:05:53. > :05:56.who works at the centre, knows only too well what it is like to come

:05:57. > :06:01.face-to-face drone activity, students are taught to be not

:06:02. > :06:05.looking at the instrument is quite as much. They have to be looking at

:06:06. > :06:10.least 20 degrees either side of their line of sight and ahead and to

:06:11. > :06:14.the side all the time. But it is not just light aircraft at risk. Last

:06:15. > :06:17.month, the drones strayed into restricted airspace around Luton

:06:18. > :06:22.Airport while filming a fire at a local supermarket. Then last week,

:06:23. > :06:25.it was revealed that an East Anglian air ambulance helicopter came within

:06:26. > :06:30.just half a second of midair crash with a drone. Then of course, there

:06:31. > :06:33.are the risks to privacy, with reports of people using drones to

:06:34. > :06:43.spy on their neighbours. They have even been used to help lead thieves.

:06:44. > :06:45.This is the Spencer family Church in Great Britain, where a drone was

:06:46. > :06:48.spotted filming the roof the day before it was stripped of its lead.

:06:49. > :06:52.All of these incidents have increased calls for new legislation.

:06:53. > :06:56.It is partly that the law is behind the technology. In America, they

:06:57. > :07:00.have gone down the road of insisting that these things are registered and

:07:01. > :07:06.chipped so that if they do crash and cause injury, at least they have an

:07:07. > :07:10.address to go back to. In the UK, that is not the case. It is

:07:11. > :07:14.understood that ministers are now considering a number of additional

:07:15. > :07:16.safety measures which this centre hopes will make the sky is a safer

:07:17. > :07:17.place. Next tonight, there

:07:18. > :07:19.are fears that a move could have wide implications

:07:20. > :07:22.for this region's The American firm's products

:07:23. > :07:25.use microchips designed Our reporter Waseem

:07:26. > :07:29.Mirza can explain. Well, Clare, there are two companies

:07:30. > :07:35.in the region that supply Microchips are basically tiny bits

:07:36. > :07:41.of computer circuitry and they power pretty much

:07:42. > :07:43.everything electronic - from your smartphone and TV right

:07:44. > :07:46.down to your street lights. But today, Hertfordshire-based

:07:47. > :07:49.Imagination Technologies announced that Apple was calling time

:07:50. > :07:52.on its contract for graphics chips. These power the screens

:07:53. > :07:56.of iPhones, iPods and iPads. Imagination Technologies'

:07:57. > :07:59.share price plunged It's thought Apple wants to bring

:08:00. > :08:05.chip design in-house But there's concern about

:08:06. > :08:10.the implications for the region's biggest technology

:08:11. > :08:12.firm - ARM Holdings. It's headquartered

:08:13. > :08:14.in Cambridge and employs more ARM was taken over by the Japanese

:08:15. > :08:35.giant Softbank last All these companies are susceptible

:08:36. > :08:39.to third party and commercial market changes. If other manufacturers of

:08:40. > :08:43.devices decide they want to bring their chip design in-house rather

:08:44. > :08:46.than using a third-party, that is more revenue and workload that could

:08:47. > :08:47.disappear from these companies quite quickly.

:08:48. > :08:49.Well, neither Apple nor ARM Holdings or its Japanese owner

:08:50. > :08:53.But industry insiders tell me ARM is in a stronger position

:08:54. > :08:54.because its chip designs are so ubiquitous

:08:55. > :08:57.and power the very heart of devices and home appliances,

:08:58. > :09:00.a situation that's likely to only increase as everyday life becomes

:09:01. > :09:02.more and more connected to the internet.

:09:03. > :09:07.The world's longest aircraft has been repaired and upgraded

:09:08. > :09:10.following a crash in a field in Bedfordshire last summer.

:09:11. > :09:13.Airlander - which is part airship, part plane -

:09:14. > :09:16.was on its second test flight when it landed nose-first.

:09:17. > :09:22.from the Air Accident Investigations Branch,

:09:23. > :09:26.with special airbag feet which inflate as it comes in to land.

:09:27. > :09:31.I'll leave you with the weather for the week ahead with Julie.

:09:32. > :09:34.It's a dry and chilly start to the night with clear

:09:35. > :09:39.Later, we'll have thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain

:09:40. > :09:43.By the end of the night, we should have temperatures around

:09:44. > :09:46.eight or nine Celsius, with light south-westerly winds.

:09:47. > :09:49.Tomorrow, we hold on to the cloud, with further outbreaks of rain.

:09:50. > :09:57.There will be quite a bit of dry weather too, but not

:09:58. > :10:02.There will be a cooler feel to things, with winds

:10:03. > :10:09.We finish the day with a lot of cloud and further

:10:10. > :10:13.I don't think we'll see the cloud breaking until after dark.

:10:14. > :10:18.On Wednesday, high pressure is building in.

:10:19. > :10:21.It looks like it will be a largely fine and dry day,

:10:22. > :10:27.The cloud will thicken as the day goes on.

:10:28. > :10:30.Later, that could produce a bit of rain, but for most of us,

:10:31. > :10:35.That high pressure stays with us through the end of the week

:10:36. > :10:38.The difficulty is judging how much cloud will be caught

:10:39. > :10:45.On Thursday, some mist and fog to clear and then a fine and dry day

:10:46. > :10:51.It looks as if it will be a repeat performance on Friday.

:10:52. > :10:53.Once any mist and fog has gone, most of us should see

:10:54. > :10:56.In a moment, Jay has the national forecast,

:10:57. > :10:59.but I leave you with the outlook for next weekend.

:11:00. > :11:01.Looks like sunny spells on Saturday and largely dry on Sunday,

:11:02. > :11:17.Good evening. Some rain spreading in across the Atlantic overnight. As it

:11:18. > :11:22.does so we will see some fresh Atlantic air following on from

:11:23. > :11:26.behind. The pollen levels will drop but the temperatures will also drop.

:11:27. > :11:28.Some rain to
