:02:52. > :02:54.to wait two hours while power lines across the road were made safe

:02:55. > :03:02.A charity which has helped hundreds of stroke survivors

:03:03. > :03:12.is having to close a local branch because it's lost funding.

:03:13. > :03:14.The Stroke Association supports people in their own homes.

:03:15. > :03:17.Health commissioners say they can no longer afford the service.

:03:28. > :03:31.In the run-up to a New Year's Eve gig, he had a stroke.

:03:32. > :03:33.Mr Mason was helped by the Stroke Association and says

:03:34. > :03:38.If you wanted a cup of tea, you couldn't lift the kettle.

:03:39. > :03:44.And then the next thing comes into your mind, how will I cope?

:03:45. > :03:49.If Nick hadn't turned up the following day,

:03:50. > :03:55.I think within a week or so I'd have ended up either dead or in hospital.

:03:56. > :03:58.Nick is an outreach worker in Yarmouth and Waveney.

:03:59. > :04:03.Because Mr Mason couldn't work, the charity paid for his heating,

:04:04. > :04:05.provided food vouchers and arranged benefits.

:04:06. > :04:08.It is disappointed it can't be funded.

:04:09. > :04:10.We know there are issues up and down the country

:04:11. > :04:15.But the solution I suggest is not salami slicing,

:04:16. > :04:18.not cutting off bits and pieces here and there, but maybe something

:04:19. > :04:23.Engage with us, talk to us and talk to stroke

:04:24. > :04:26.My understanding is they haven't been asked what they want.

:04:27. > :04:28.The Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group

:04:29. > :04:30.which pays for the service declined an interview.

:04:31. > :04:48.It says the charity signposts people to information, and doesn't

:05:19. > :05:21.going in April, people could be left to fend for themselves.
