:00:00. > :00:25.A new development in the investigation into the disappearance

:00:26. > :00:29.of Corrie McKeague, and then -- the waste was heavier than originally

:00:30. > :00:34.thought. Squalor among care leavers. And a

:00:35. > :00:46.mixed bag of weather. Suffolk Police have tonight issued

:00:47. > :00:49.more details about the search for missing airman

:00:50. > :00:50.Corrie McKeague. They've revealed that the weight

:00:51. > :00:52.of the waste disposal lorry which travelled from Bury St Edmunds

:00:53. > :00:55.to a rubbish tip near Cambridge was far heavier than

:00:56. > :00:56.initially thought. Police began a search

:00:57. > :00:59.of the landfill site This is the landfill site at Milton

:01:00. > :01:06.near Cambridge where the police are now searching for the body

:01:07. > :01:09.of Corrie McKeague. He went missing from this area

:01:10. > :01:23.of the recent Edmunds. It is called the horseshoe,

:01:24. > :01:27.and it is full of waste bins. A rubbish lorry which made

:01:28. > :01:29.a collection from the horseshoe on the night Corrie went missing

:01:30. > :01:32.was involved in the early stages At the time, it was thought

:01:33. > :01:36.the lorry weighed just 11 kilos. This evening, police have revealed

:01:37. > :01:40.that the weight of the waste collection on that night

:01:41. > :01:43.was actually over 100 kilos. I don't understand how the process

:01:44. > :01:46.has allowed him to get to landfill. That was one thing I think

:01:47. > :01:49.was trying to keep me believing that Was that I was so sure,

:01:50. > :01:57.because of what the police have said to us, that he couldn't go

:01:58. > :02:00.through that process and it doesn't The police say the error was made

:02:01. > :02:13.by the company who provide the data. In a statement, Suffolk

:02:14. > :02:26.Police go on to say... Once I have found Corrie,

:02:27. > :02:29.then the questions will come as to how this happened,

:02:30. > :02:32.how he has ended up there. Finding Corrie is the only thing

:02:33. > :02:45.that we need to be thinking about. The mix-up relates to the arrest

:02:46. > :02:48.last week of a 26-year-old man on suspicion of attempting

:02:49. > :02:50.to pervert the course of justice. A second man was also

:02:51. > :02:54.interviewed under caution. Both men have been told

:02:55. > :02:57.they will face no further action. Next, Norfolk County Council has

:02:58. > :03:04.promised urgent action after a Look East investigation

:03:05. > :03:08.found evidence that some vulnerable teenagers were living

:03:09. > :03:14.in chaos and squalor. The 16 to 18-year-olds

:03:15. > :03:18.have recently left care. Norfolk County Council pays

:03:19. > :03:20.a company called SixteenPlus to provide accommodation

:03:21. > :03:26.for the teenagers. The deal includes advice

:03:27. > :03:29.and supervision with the aim of helping the teenagers

:03:30. > :03:31.lead independent lives. But we've uncovered allegations

:03:32. > :03:34.of serious failings and living This, the home of a 17-year-old

:03:35. > :03:40.care leaver living The smell of cat urine

:03:41. > :03:44.hit me as I walked in. Not day-old rubbish, but dirt

:03:45. > :03:47.and grime built up over time. We decided not to show the teenager

:03:48. > :03:50.to protect their family. I am just going to

:03:51. > :03:54.show you the kitchen. And there is quite a lot of broken

:03:55. > :03:57.crockery on the floor. And there is quite a lot of cat

:03:58. > :04:05.faeces on the floor. Cigarette butts are

:04:06. > :04:07.trodden into the carpet. What's worrying upstairs is not just

:04:08. > :04:15.the level of mess, but also Some of them are

:04:16. > :04:24.hanging off the wall. And then, if I show you this

:04:25. > :04:30.one over here, in one of the rooms upstairs,

:04:31. > :04:32.it is cracked, it is off the wall, and there are bare

:04:33. > :04:34.wires actually exposed. We spoke to the 17-year-old

:04:35. > :04:40.living at the property, who said they hadn't seen anybody

:04:41. > :04:43.from SixteenPlus for two months. Neighbours said they were also

:04:44. > :04:48.concerned about the level Hours after we told

:04:49. > :04:54.Norfolk County Council we'd filmed At the time we recorded this video,

:04:55. > :05:00.SixteenPlus says it was no longer It says it did fit new

:05:01. > :05:06.fire safety equipment, and it is the responsibility

:05:07. > :05:13.of residents to report damages. We filmed there after being

:05:14. > :05:15.shown these photographs Last year, the council paid

:05:16. > :05:20.SixteenPlus ?1.5 million. A lot of the staff have raised

:05:21. > :05:24.concerns but nothing has been done. It has been reported so many times

:05:25. > :05:32.about the disrepair of the house. Maintenance staff had

:05:33. > :05:34.to go in with white suits and masks because of

:05:35. > :05:37.the smell of cat faeces. We showed our footage

:05:38. > :05:49.to one councillor who has -- was passed the concerns

:05:50. > :05:51.back in January. These people need

:05:52. > :05:53.support and guidance. And clearly, this isn't

:05:54. > :05:55.happening in this situation. He was told by children's

:05:56. > :05:58.services officers the houses 84 elected members at County Hall,

:05:59. > :06:05.we are all responsible, we are all corporate parents

:06:06. > :06:07.for Norfolk's children. The vulnerable children

:06:08. > :06:08.need looking after. I don't believe that's looking

:06:09. > :06:10.after a vulnerable person. The condition of the houses isn't

:06:11. > :06:15.the only criticism of the company. Theresa's son Zak has

:06:16. > :06:18.epilepsy and autism. He lives in a SixteenPlus

:06:19. > :06:20.house because of his The company apologised after

:06:21. > :06:25.untrained staff looked after him. He couldn't get in and ended up

:06:26. > :06:31.sleeping rough outside Because it came to light

:06:32. > :06:35.later on that the support And I expect he's

:06:36. > :06:45.still employed by them. And how do you feel,

:06:46. > :06:47.knowing that your son had to sleep Through its lawyers,

:06:48. > :06:52.SixteenPlus said... Unfounded allegations had been made

:06:53. > :07:01.by two disgruntled ex-employees. And that "SixteenPlus

:07:02. > :07:03.limited is a well-run, It added it was not providing any

:07:04. > :07:08.support to residents at the time The accommodation isn't

:07:09. > :07:11.independently inspected. It is up to the county council

:07:12. > :07:14.to ensure these teenagers have decent living conditions

:07:15. > :07:21.and are properly supervised. Ipswich Town drew 0-0

:07:22. > :07:26.against Wolves at Portman Road. Finally, every year,

:07:27. > :07:35.at about this time the music venue

:07:36. > :07:37.Snape Maltings in Suffolk hosts This year is the 30th and they

:07:38. > :07:43.wanted to make it a bit special. 1500 young people from

:07:44. > :07:51.35 different schools will be taking part in rehearsals

:07:52. > :07:54.and a nightly concert. # All I ask is for you to take me

:07:55. > :08:10.to the moon...# some of the greatest names

:08:11. > :08:13.in classical music have Alongside them, every year

:08:14. > :08:19.since 1987, have been It's called A Celebration

:08:20. > :08:24.of Schools Music. It has become a much-loved

:08:25. > :08:27.annual event. This is the choir from

:08:28. > :08:32.Claydon High School. Their contribution is three songs

:08:33. > :08:35.by three GCSEs students. Called Promises,

:08:36. > :08:38.Inspiration and Thank You. We were tasked to make

:08:39. > :08:45.a song about celebration. Started off making the piece

:08:46. > :08:52.on piano, it fitted the criteria, and I was really excited

:08:53. > :08:55.to do the event. Every school has to learn

:08:56. > :09:03.a new specially commissioned 30th anniversary song called I Wish

:09:04. > :09:08.on the day. It was written by composer

:09:09. > :09:10.Gwyneth Herbert. Who asked the children

:09:11. > :09:12.for three wishes, and wrote Some of the schools are only hearing

:09:13. > :09:20.the song for the first time. There are six different

:09:21. > :09:23.parts to piece together And then one hour on the stage

:09:24. > :09:29.to sew it altogether. Today is a personal milestone

:09:30. > :09:37.for the head of the Suffolk county music service,

:09:38. > :09:39.Philip Shaw, who started these Now, there are teachers bringing

:09:40. > :09:44.students here who once The celebration has become a

:09:45. > :09:51.permanent fixture at Snape Maltings. A world-famous venue given over

:09:52. > :09:54.to Suffolk children for one That's it from the late

:09:55. > :10:15.team here at Look East. Overnight tonight, we will see

:10:16. > :10:20.figure cloud and outbreaks of rain. Some of this on the heavy side. We

:10:21. > :10:24.might see Jim Bridger is rising again. By morning, values of eight

:10:25. > :10:33.or nine Celsius. -- temperatures rising. The weather front is

:10:34. > :10:37.difficult to work out how long it'll take to clear, cloudy with outbreaks

:10:38. > :10:44.of rain but some sunshine for some of us. Even with the cloud and

:10:45. > :10:50.drink, temperatures up to 12 Celsius. Or higher in the sunshine.

:10:51. > :10:55.In the afternoon, rain cleaning -- clearing into the North Sea. I will

:10:56. > :10:59.leave you with the album. A damp start to Thursday, but Diane Brown.

:11:00. > :11:04.Friday largely crowded. Then wet and cloud but probably dry, a chance of

:11:05. > :11:09.rain on Saturday. The national picture now from Nick Miller.

:11:10. > :11:13.It looks like next week high pressure will become a player again

:11:14. > :11:18.in our weather, settling things down for some of us for a time but until

:11:19. > :11:22.then it is low-pressure, rain moving across the UK overnight but not wet

:11:23. > :11:26.all the time. Many of us at a fine day today, this was at you from West

:11:27. > :11:30.Yorkshire and Yorkshire and northern England and Northern Ireland will

:11:31. > :11:32.farewell tomorrow, after this frontal system has pushed on
