:00:08. > :00:15.Welcome to Look East. Troops in effort -- Essex and Sussex go to

:00:16. > :00:16.Estonia to get ready to be part of a deterrent against Russia. Why you

:00:17. > :00:21.could end up paying a toxin tax. A settled outlook,

:00:22. > :00:23.but rather cloudy at times. Troops from this region have been

:00:24. > :00:37.getting ready to be part of the biggest military deployment

:00:38. > :00:39.to Europe since the end Soldiers from the UK began arriving

:00:40. > :00:44.in Estonia last month, part of what the government has

:00:45. > :00:46.described as a deterrent And today, as hundreds

:00:47. > :00:50.of troops from this region were on their biggest training

:00:51. > :00:52.exercise of the year, it's emerged that they are likely

:00:53. > :00:56.to be heading there, too. 16 Air Assault Brigade

:00:57. > :01:02.is based in Colchester. Leigh Milner has been watching them

:01:03. > :01:04.train today in Suffolk and Norfolk. Preparing to jump from

:01:05. > :01:08.800 feet in the sky, these soldiers from

:01:09. > :01:11.the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment

:01:12. > :01:14.are part of 16 Air Assault Brigade, the British Army's

:01:15. > :01:18.rapid response force. We're a couple of hundred people

:01:19. > :01:21.in the exact same boat, where they have done 100 jobs,

:01:22. > :01:24.or not as many as that. I have only done four,

:01:25. > :01:28.this is my fifth. Trained to be deployed any time,

:01:29. > :01:33.anywhere, they're about to fly 39 miles to the training ground

:01:34. > :01:35.near Thetford for a fictional

:01:36. > :01:37.yet credible scenario. It is a notional country

:01:38. > :01:39.that looks very much of the government we have been asked

:01:40. > :01:46.to come in because they have a problem with an insurgency,

:01:47. > :01:47.terrorists, and forces do not have the ability

:01:48. > :01:51.to deal with the insurgents, so they have gone to a third party

:01:52. > :01:54.through the UN Security Council, who passed a resolution,

:01:55. > :01:56.and we're part of the multinational force providing

:01:57. > :02:01.security in the country. Last month the first of 800 troops

:02:02. > :02:04.were sent to Estonia as part of the Nato response

:02:05. > :02:06.to concerns over Russia. These soldiers training

:02:07. > :02:11.today could be next. We are one of the very high

:02:12. > :02:18.readiness response forces. We can go anywhere

:02:19. > :02:20.the government wants us to go. We train for contingencies,

:02:21. > :02:22.so we can go to Estonia, Africa, the Middle East,

:02:23. > :02:25.frankly we can go to anywhere Above the training ground,

:02:26. > :02:27.soldiers are closing in. Here it comes, the C130 Hercules,

:02:28. > :02:30.this can carry up to 80 personnel, double the amount

:02:31. > :02:32.of a Chinook helicopter. It can travel up to 1,000 miles

:02:33. > :02:41.at a time, exactly what you need when transporting

:02:42. > :02:49.a rapid response force. The side doors open and one by one,

:02:50. > :02:55.they jump 800 feet above the drop zone, which stretches a couple

:02:56. > :02:59.of kilometres, north to south. As soon as they touch the ground

:03:00. > :03:02.they quickly pack away their parachutes and head

:03:03. > :03:06.towards the shelter of the trees. Leigh Milner reporting

:03:07. > :03:08.on today's military operation Next tonight, Cambridge is bidding

:03:09. > :03:18.to become one of the country's first clean air zones,

:03:19. > :03:21.by the idea of charging a toxin tax The government is announcing plans

:03:22. > :03:25.this week for some areas to be able to charge up to ?20 a day

:03:26. > :03:28.to drive into cities. The toxic gas nitrogen dioxide

:03:29. > :03:30.causes lung problems Last year, a Look East investigation

:03:31. > :03:34.found dozens of locations where the average level of air

:03:35. > :03:43.pollution is illegal. I don't want to suggest that a large

:03:44. > :03:46.number of people, not a high percentage of people,

:03:47. > :03:51.die, but nevertheless, lives are shortened by these gases

:03:52. > :03:53.that we have to breathe Our chief reporter

:03:54. > :04:07.Kim Riley is with me. How serious is the problem? I think

:04:08. > :04:14.carbon dioxide and nudged in dioxide levels, some towns there seem to be

:04:15. > :04:18.more serious. In Cambridge, let's have a look at the figures we have

:04:19. > :04:26.four 2015. In Norfolk, ten testing sites are in breach of levels of NIO

:04:27. > :04:32.two. In Suffolk, 24, most of them quite a considerable number.

:04:33. > :04:38.Ipswich, 17. Then we get to Essex, 27 sites in breach, and Colchester

:04:39. > :04:43.topping the county table on nine. Tossing all of that up, in the three

:04:44. > :04:49.counties, 61 test sites are in breach. -- adding all that up. Are

:04:50. > :04:53.they following Cambridge? They are not rushing to follow Cambridge, as

:04:54. > :04:57.far as I can gather. The council say there are no plans to introduce

:04:58. > :05:03.taxes for privately owned diesel vehicles. It said it would continue

:05:04. > :05:07.to tackle hotspots in the city centre, work closely with the

:05:08. > :05:12.council managing buses and try to push down pollution here. Colchester

:05:13. > :05:14.said the air quality action plan involved a number of different

:05:15. > :05:21.initiatives to bring concentrations of pollutants down to acceptable

:05:22. > :05:25.levels. It would be considering a possible clean air zone but I got a

:05:26. > :05:29.definite picture it did not involve targeting private cars. Ipswich

:05:30. > :05:36.could not tell me exactly what it was planning but from Colchester and

:05:37. > :05:37.possibly from Norwich, they believe things are gradually improving

:05:38. > :05:49.anyway. Thank you very much. Two men who were accused

:05:50. > :05:52.of the attempted rape and kidnap of a woman in Ipswich have pleaded

:05:53. > :05:55.not guilty to the charges The woman was attacked and left

:05:56. > :05:58.unconscious in a car park George Hari Constantinescu

:05:59. > :06:08.and Danut George are both 29 Suffolk Police say they have sifted

:06:09. > :06:13.through 13 tonnes of rubbish at a landfill site in the search for a

:06:14. > :06:16.missing airman. The search team has been at Milton near Cambridge for

:06:17. > :06:20.almost five weeks. They are searching for a man who vanished

:06:21. > :06:27.after a night out in Bury St Edmunds last year. Laura James is a

:06:28. > :06:32.successful writer from Norfolk and a happily married mother of four. Just

:06:33. > :06:36.two years ago she was diagnosed with autism and that diagnosis has made

:06:37. > :06:41.her look back on her life and see it in a very different way. She has now

:06:42. > :06:46.written a book about her experiences and we went to meet her.

:06:47. > :06:49.This is where Laura James feels comfortable, writing in her own

:06:50. > :06:55.I am researching, I love learning things.

:06:56. > :06:59.If I come across something, I kind of want

:07:00. > :07:03.to know everything about it as soon as I can, if it sparks my interest.

:07:04. > :07:06.This is where she feels out of her comfort zone.

:07:07. > :07:08.Her autism makes a simple shopping expedition

:07:09. > :07:14.The low ceiling and shiny floors makes me feel slightly dizzy.

:07:15. > :07:18.Then I can hear every single noise, the buzzing of that fridge, I can

:07:19. > :07:21.hear things being run through the All those things are

:07:22. > :07:30.overloading my senses, that phone that just rang,

:07:31. > :07:32.everything is overloading my senses and I can't separate

:07:33. > :07:34.out those noises. Then you look at something

:07:35. > :07:36.like yoghurt and there so many If I don't know what I want,

:07:37. > :07:40.if it's hidden or something, I'm overwhelmed

:07:41. > :07:42.by the sheer number of yoghurts Laura was only diagnosed

:07:43. > :07:46.as autistic at the age of 45. She spent her life

:07:47. > :07:49.feeling different. She found it difficult to relate

:07:50. > :07:52.to those around her. Despite being bright,

:07:53. > :07:54.she could not do exams. Despite a successful career,

:07:55. > :07:56.marriage and four children, she lives with a sense of unease,

:07:57. > :08:05.a need for order and predictability. Tom works for the National Autistic

:08:06. > :08:08.Society and has an autistic son. He hopes Laura's openness

:08:09. > :08:10.about her autism will improve At the moment there is a huge

:08:11. > :08:17.awareness of autism, but not enough understanding of what it

:08:18. > :08:20.means on a day-to-day basis for So what we need is more examples out

:08:21. > :08:25.there of people's day-to-day experiences in places

:08:26. > :08:26.like supermarkets, leisure centres, that they go, which brings to life

:08:27. > :08:41.the experience of autism. That is why Laura has

:08:42. > :08:44.written her book, to shed a light on what autism is like,

:08:45. > :08:46.especially for women and girls, who can mask their traits

:08:47. > :08:49.as they try to fit in. People who, particularly women

:08:50. > :08:51.and girls, who could not quite put their finger on something,

:08:52. > :08:56.I wanted it to be out there and if they stumble across it and find

:08:57. > :08:59.it was them I hope it Now you are a couple of years down

:09:00. > :09:03.the line from diagnosis. I know often I can

:09:04. > :09:14.be hard on myself. The Duchess of Cambridge has been

:09:15. > :09:18.at the opening of a West End musical this evening as part of her role

:09:19. > :09:32.as the patron of East Anglia's young people who have benefited from

:09:33. > :09:36.the charity's work. More on that story

:09:37. > :09:41.on Look East tomorrow. Just one football result

:09:42. > :09:43.to tell you about. Ipswich Town won 3-nil

:09:44. > :09:49.to Wigan Athletic. More on that match on BBC

:09:50. > :09:51.Radio Suffolk's breakfast Coming up now, the weather

:09:52. > :09:57.with Alex, but from the rest

:09:58. > :10:09.of the late team, good night. Thank you very much. Good evening.

:10:10. > :10:13.Cloudy this afternoon but as we go through the evening and night,

:10:14. > :10:18.increasingly clear skies. That means a rather chilly forecast tonight,

:10:19. > :10:22.four or five Celsius at the lowest, we could get down to two Celsius in

:10:23. > :10:26.some parts of the region, which could bring in ground frost as we

:10:27. > :10:29.start the day tomorrow. High pressure from the south-west. They

:10:30. > :10:34.settled outlook but might be rather cloudy at times with a

:10:35. > :10:38.north-westerly wind. A chilly start but a bright start, good spells in

:10:39. > :10:42.the morning but as the day progresses it tends to turn cloudy

:10:43. > :10:46.the North. We are looking at brighter spells for the afternoon

:10:47. > :10:50.rather than sunshine. I think temperatures probably not higher

:10:51. > :10:54.than around 12 Celsius. The National weather is coming up. Here is the

:10:55. > :10:56.other. Looking cloudy for Thursday and Friday with brighter spells.

:10:57. > :11:02.Looks like it will stay largely bit from the south, so we could get

:11:03. > :11:09.to 18 or higher on Sunday. Now the national focus. Good evening,

:11:10. > :11:14.things are looking good in the next few days, some pressure drifting in

:11:15. > :11:18.from the Atlantic, bringing some finance settled with it. Just some

:11:19. > :11:22.questions about the amount of cloud we will see under that. The cloud we

:11:23. > :11:27.saw the sea links gave rise to a lovely sunsets are many areas. This

:11:28. > :11:28.is the view from one of our weather watchers in Cornwall. Look at the
