:01:17. > :01:20.Serious incidents are anything from slips, trips and falls

:01:21. > :01:23.to suboptimal care of deteriorating patients.

:01:24. > :01:27.Our region's hospitals though seem to be bucking the national trend.

:01:28. > :01:30.Serious incidents have actually fallen in the east.

:01:31. > :01:38.Within the last year, there have been far less,

:01:39. > :01:43.The Department of Health says the national rise in

:01:44. > :01:47.serious incidents is due to better recording of such occurrences.

:01:48. > :01:49.But with the increasing pressure on our hospitals, there are

:01:50. > :01:56.fears rising demand will continue to lead to serious errors.
