:00:06. > :00:08.Hello, welcome to the latest news from BBC Look North.

:00:08. > :00:10.Representatives from the Royal College of Nursing have been at

:00:10. > :00:15.Boston Pilgrim Hospital today, offering support to students

:00:15. > :00:17.withdrawn from wards. Last week all 100 student nurses were taken off

:00:17. > :00:20.their placements inside the hospital, with immediate effect,

:00:20. > :00:27.after the Nursing and Midwifery Council said it had serious

:00:27. > :00:30.concerns. Our correspondent, Vicky Johnson reports.

:00:30. > :00:33.There'd been no warning that nurse training at Boston Pilgrim was in

:00:33. > :00:39.trouble, so the abrupt decision last week to end placements has

:00:39. > :00:42.left students shocked and bewildered. Generally everyone's

:00:42. > :00:46.quite panicked about it because we don't know what's going to happen

:00:46. > :00:49.with placements. We don't know when they're going to go back, if we're

:00:49. > :00:52.going to go back. Some students, who're reluctant to be identified,

:00:52. > :00:56.were just weeks away from qualifying when they were told of

:00:56. > :00:59.the concerns about the learning environment. Today union reps have

:00:59. > :01:05.been at the hospital offering support to students whose training

:01:05. > :01:10.has disrupted. They just want a explanation. They want to know why.

:01:10. > :01:14.Their biggest fear is what is going to happen to be in the future? Am I

:01:14. > :01:19.going to finish my course? Those that started at the beginning of

:01:19. > :01:23.the year are quite concerned about what their future is going to be.

:01:23. > :01:30.Many students chose Boston Pilgrim because it's close to home. If they

:01:30. > :01:33.not allowed to return their future looks uncertain. A large percentage

:01:33. > :01:38.won't be able to carry on, that's for sure, certainly from my co-hort.

:01:38. > :01:40.At least 25% at a guess would have to drop out, myself included.

:01:40. > :01:43.University officials certainly hope that won't be the case. They're

:01:43. > :01:47.aiming to find alternative placements by the end of this week

:01:47. > :01:50.for the 15 final-year students who were about to qualify.

:01:50. > :01:57.They add that they're working hard to ensure other people's progress

:01:57. > :02:00.on the course isn't jeopardised by what's happened in Boston.

:02:00. > :02:03.Doctors in Lincolnshire have issued a warning about the dangers of

:02:03. > :02:05.counterfeit alcohol. Consultants working in Lincoln's accident and

:02:06. > :02:09.emergency department say they've seen a rise in the number of

:02:09. > :02:13.patients who've consumed imitation vodka. The counterfeit drinks often

:02:13. > :02:16.contain methanol, which is more commonly used in cleaning products.

:02:16. > :02:21.It can cause serious kidney and liver damage and in some cases can

:02:22. > :02:24.be fatal. Police in Hull have released CCTV

:02:24. > :02:29.images of the moment a statue commemorating lost fishermen was

:02:29. > :02:32.taken last Sunday night. The footage shows a group of men

:02:32. > :02:36.throwing a rope around the statue, before they pull it from its plinth

:02:36. > :02:41.and it crashes to the ground. The bronze statue weighs around 300

:02:41. > :02:46.kilograms. A man's in hospital with serious head injuries following an

:02:46. > :02:50.alleged assault in Grimsby. It happened in the early hours of

:02:50. > :02:54.yesterday in the Victoria Street area. The man was taken by

:02:54. > :03:00.helicopter to the Hull Royal Infirmary. Four other men were

:03:00. > :03:10.arrested. Now let's get the latest weather

:03:10. > :03:22.

:03:22. > :03:27.The headline for the next 24 hours is a little bit firmer than that,

:03:27. > :03:35.warm and humid. The risk of one or two thundery showers. This evening,

:03:35. > :03:43.it brightens from the south. 26 degrees, despite thick cloud. A

:03:43. > :03:48.warm night to come. Temperatures in Hull, 16 Celsius. It might start

:03:48. > :03:53.Brighton the morning but generally, paddling crease. A little patchy

:03:53. > :03:58.rain in places but as their cloud breaks up, we could see a few heavy,

:03:59. > :04:05.thundery showers breaking out. Hit- and-miss. Some places could well

:04:05. > :04:11.stay dry. Temperatures very much, of the warm side of normal. We will

:04:11. > :04:14.see highs and Hull of 24 sources. Across central and southern

:04:14. > :04:20.Lincolnshire, North West Norfolk, where the highest temperatures will

:04:20. > :04:30.be. Enjoy it if you can. A higher risk of thunderstorms on Wednesday

:04:30. > :04:32.

:04:32. > :04:42.but hot and sultry. Much colder, Yorkshire Day has been marked

:04:42. > :04:45.across the can It's the day for Tykes everywhere to celebrate their

:04:45. > :04:47.heritage. In Hull the White Rose has been flying above the Guildhall.

:04:47. > :04:53.A shorter than normal programme, because of industrial action,
