:01:16. > :01:20.clampdown on the black market trade since an explosion which killed
:01:20. > :01:25.five people at an illegal distillery here in Boston last
:01:25. > :01:31.month. The raids were carried out by police, trading standards and
:01:31. > :01:35.customs. Our reporter was with them. Bottles of illegally imported
:01:35. > :01:41.alcohol being removed from the shelves. In the back, something
:01:41. > :01:46.even more serious. Fake vodka. this box we discovered three
:01:46. > :01:52.bottles of vodka that week suspect to be counterfeit and four bottles
:01:52. > :01:56.of another type of vodka which we also suspect to be counterfeit.
:01:56. > :02:00.This was one of four shops raided incident and -- in Lincoln City
:02:00. > :02:07.centre this morning. It follows an explosion at an illegal distillery
:02:07. > :02:11.last month. It was an -- a major explosion and people died. It is
:02:11. > :02:17.the people that cell that create the market for it and if they
:02:17. > :02:20.didn't sell it there would not be a market created. These are just two
:02:20. > :02:26.of the suspected counterfeit bottles of our poll found in this
:02:26. > :02:34.particular shop. What raised suspicions here were poor labelling
:02:34. > :02:38.and a lack of a duty-paid sticker. Also, thousands and thousands of
:02:38. > :02:45.illegal counterfeit cigarettes. A specially trained sniffer dog was
:02:45. > :02:51.brought in. Our officers watched the shopkeeper self two packets of
:02:51. > :02:56.tobacco. This tobacco is not sold in the UK. It is foreign tobacco.
:02:56. > :03:01.No duty has been paid on it. There have also found a quantity of
:03:01. > :03:06.tobacco under the counter and in the storerooms. In total, almost
:03:06. > :03:10.12,000 illegal and fake cigarettes, 8.5 kilograms of suspected
:03:10. > :03:15.counterfeit running tobacco and 66 illegally imported or counterfeit
:03:15. > :03:19.bottles of vodka were found, Priddy to be sold to the public. A lot of
:03:19. > :03:22.work has gone into today's operation and each agency has
:03:22. > :03:28.played their part in the work and there will be a lot of work after
:03:28. > :03:33.the operation in dealing with the premises that have been storing and

:03:42. > :03:47.the trade in this type of cigarettes does not care who it
:03:47. > :03:51.sells to. They will sell to children, and arrange young people,
:03:51. > :03:55.and the health implications, because they are unlicensed and
:03:55. > :04:00.unregulated, we just do not know what is in them. The products will
:04:00. > :04:03.be taken away for further testing. The owners of the premises they
:04:04. > :04:08.were founded are likely to face proceedings.
:04:08. > :04:14.Joining me from our Lincoln studio is Sevres Barry from Lincolnshire
:04:14. > :04:19.Trading Standards. Generally, how widespread and easy is it for
:04:19. > :04:24.people get their hands on illicit and fake cigarettes and alcohol?
:04:24. > :04:26.have a problem both in Lincoln and in Boston. But we do not feel
:04:26. > :04:30.Lincolnshire is any different to any other part of the country where
:04:31. > :04:36.all the time police it alcohol and tobacco is being sold under the
:04:36. > :04:41.counter. If the product is fake, such as vodka, price aside, how can
:04:41. > :04:45.you tell by looking at the labels? Some of them are very good. They
:04:45. > :04:50.are very good. We would always ask people alerted by the price to have
:04:50. > :04:55.a look at the spelling and the quality of the label. Is it a brand
:04:55. > :04:59.you recognise that would be sold in a major store? People must know
:04:59. > :05:02.they are buying fake stuff by the price and if they are tired of
:05:02. > :05:07.money you can understand why they did it. Sometimes people do not
:05:07. > :05:11.know. We had the incident in Boston where the selling price is very
:05:11. > :05:16.similar to that of those products on offer in major supermarkets so
:05:16. > :05:20.people do not always know. But we would urge people, if they do
:05:20. > :05:24.suspect that they are buying counterfeit goods, to report in
:05:24. > :05:29.three places like Crimestoppers and be really careful because we have
:05:29. > :05:33.evidence that particularly the Fokker is dangerous and if drunk
:05:33. > :05:37.engorge -- large quantities could cause real health problems. We will
:05:37. > :05:42.be having the cigarettes and tobacco tested. They certainly do
:05:42. > :05:47.not go through the same quality checks that legitimate products do.
:05:47. > :05:52.And if someone knows where they are being assault what should they do?
:05:52. > :05:59.We would urge people to report it confidentially and anonymously if

:08:54. > :08:59.Hull boundary only measures the inner-city figures as opposed to

:09:09. > :09:15.average prices. The inner-city areas of Leeds and Hull are very
:09:15. > :09:19.similar. If you bought a house four years ago and you need to move now,
:09:19. > :09:25.things look very grim. You are stuck. If you bought a house for
:09:25. > :09:29.the first time with a small deposit you will be in by that no good deed
:09:29. > :09:35.-- negative equity or you do not have enough cash for a new deposit.

:24:45. > :24:55.it are only 50 metres wide. But this fans it is one of the iconic
