:00:05. > :00:08.Good evening and welcome to BBC Look North. The headlines tonight:

:00:20. > :00:25.An investigation is underway after a toddler drowns at a caravan park.
:00:25. > :00:30.Bed was bad for us that were standing by, so I cannot imagine
:00:30. > :00:33.what that family is going through. It is just so upsetting.
:00:33. > :00:37.The speed camera repair bill that runs into hundreds of thousands of
:00:37. > :00:43.pounds. Why this seaside town is one of the
:00:43. > :00:47.top tourist destinations in the country.
:00:47. > :00:53.And that taste of autumn in the next couple of days, the forecast
:00:53. > :00:56.coming up shortly. People living in rural areas in
:00:56. > :01:00.Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are getting a raw deal when it comes to
:01:00. > :01:03.Government spending. That's the finding of a new report claiming
:01:03. > :01:10.people in the countryside pay on average 100 more in council tax,
:01:10. > :01:14.but get 50% less money. The Rural Services Network is now calling on
:01:14. > :01:22.ministers to address the issue. Our communities correspondent Vicky
:01:22. > :01:27.Johnson has the story. But it might be green and it might
:01:27. > :01:31.be pleasant, but many people living in a rural areas feel they are

:01:36. > :01:42.East Yorkshire for the past 15 years. I think we already been off.
:01:42. > :01:46.We are certainly being more than a lot of people who live in and are
:01:46. > :01:50.then environment. He this is not just a perception. A new study
:01:50. > :01:55.reveals that if you live in the East Riding of Yorkshire or line
:01:55. > :02:03.future, the average amount of government money spent per head is
:02:03. > :02:07.around 300. But in Hull, that amount is doubled to 600. That is
:02:07. > :02:11.despite people in rural areas paying more in council tax than
:02:11. > :02:16.their Aardman counterparts. This woman works for a charity that
:02:17. > :02:21.supports rural communities. There is a perception that people that
:02:21. > :02:25.live in rural areas are more affluent. That is a method. The
:02:26. > :02:34.need support and the monies into them to keep them sustainable and
:02:34. > :02:40.viable. If regular bus services, two pubs and shops mean that people
:02:40. > :02:50.here still enjoy a country life. They worked together, rather than

:02:51. > :02:55.simply relying on their council. in a council house, it they would
:02:55. > :03:02.look and see why the Electric had gone off rather than wait for the

:03:17. > :03:25.that big cities and urban areas were bound to need more money than
:03:25. > :03:31.a country area. The truth this the cost of delivery in the rural areas

:03:56. > :04:01.average income in a rural areas is are actually at war than that on
:04:01. > :04:09.the urban areas. They are paying higher council tax and then they

:04:17. > :04:21.are no longer in opposition, you are in government now, so you can
:04:22. > :04:26.change it. And the Government has inherited this terrible financial
