:00:08. > :00:11.Good evening and welcome to Look North. It's been confirmed that a

:00:12. > :00:20.body found in woodland in Beverley is that of missing teenager Jessica

:00:20. > :00:22.Blake. The 14-year-old disappeared on Saturday. Her body was found

:00:22. > :00:25.yesterday afternoon. Her disappearance sparked a huge

:00:25. > :00:33.reaction from members of the local community, who volunteered to help

:00:33. > :00:37.find her and last night lit candles Sarah Corker reports. Coming

:00:37. > :00:40.together to pay their respects to Jessica. Close to where the

:00:40. > :00:43.teenager's body was found, today friends made a small memorial to

:00:43. > :00:50.her. Amongst those laying flowers, people who had never met her but

:00:50. > :00:54.had helped in the search to find her. Being parents, your heart has

:00:54. > :00:58.to go out to her and her family. We came down to lay some flowers and

:00:58. > :01:01.show some respect, really. Described by friends as a quiet,

:01:01. > :01:07.shy girl, her disappearance on Saturday sparked a major search,

:01:07. > :01:13.including the use of a helicopter and specialist search teams. But on

:01:13. > :01:15.Sunday, a body was discovered near to where Jessica was last seen.

:01:15. > :01:24.This afternoon, Humberside Police confirmed the body found in woods

:01:24. > :01:26.near Chester Avenue is that of Jessica Blake. They say they are

:01:26. > :01:29.not treating her death as suspicious. This is now a community

:01:29. > :01:36.in mourning. At Beverley Minster last night, 200 people attended a

:01:36. > :01:40.candlelit vigil in her memory. it comes to a community, everybody

:01:40. > :01:46.sort of gathers together. Last night, people just having a chance

:01:46. > :01:50.to express the inexpressible, almost, where words will not do. To

:01:50. > :01:56.be able to light a candle. On a special Facebook page for Jessica,

:01:56. > :01:59.words of support and sympathy for her family. The outpourings of

:01:59. > :02:09.concern and upset and grief seen in the community, I think, shows just

:02:09. > :02:10.

:02:10. > :02:17.how much the community cares. is now a town coming to terms with

:02:17. > :02:20.the loss of one of their own so young. In spite of recent

:02:20. > :02:28.investment on the roads, motorists in North Lincolnshire say potholes

:02:28. > :02:31.are still making driving hazardous. The council says it has increased

:02:31. > :02:34.its maintenance budget by nearly 1.5 million to help repair road

:02:35. > :02:40.surfaces. But a recent report by the GMB union said road surfaces in

:02:40. > :02:49.the area are among the most deteriorated in the country. Nicola

:02:49. > :02:52.Hudson reports. Cracked, crumbling and littered with potholes. The 889

:02:52. > :02:55.miles of roads here in North Lincolnshire are rated as some of

:02:55. > :03:00.the worst in the country. Potholes are having a noticeable effect on

:03:01. > :03:03.business at this garage in Elsham. Last year I think we saw between 60

:03:03. > :03:13.and 70,000 worth of business directly due to tyre damage and

:03:13. > :03:16.wheel damage caused by potholes in the roads. Andrew Horner hit a two-

:03:16. > :03:24.inch pothole, leaving him with the repair bill running into hundreds

:03:24. > :03:27.of pounds. Councils haven't got the money to repair as much as they

:03:27. > :03:29.want to, but I wonder if they prioritise the right stretches of

:03:29. > :03:34.road. Investment in the road network in North Lincolnshire is

:03:34. > :03:40.increasing. This year's repair budget is 5.5 million, an increase

:03:40. > :03:47.of nearly 1.5 million on last year's spending. Last month, the

:03:47. > :03:57.council earmarked 580,000 for further improvements. Despite this,

:03:57. > :03:59.

:03:59. > :04:04.47% of roads in the area show some sign of deterioration. We can see

:04:04. > :04:08.broken road springs, suspension unit $:/STARTFEED. For this company,

:04:08. > :04:13.three call-outs each week are related to pot holes. Minor role

:04:13. > :04:20.roads are more likely to catch motorists out. This causes issues

:04:20. > :04:23.with suspension, coils and spring failures and steering geometry. You

:04:23. > :04:27.do tend to find the Sun rural roads like this with lots of Patches that

:04:27. > :04:31.have been repaired. But there are still quite a few potholes.

:04:31. > :04:35.Throughout the summer, teams are out improving the road network. But

:04:35. > :04:43.as the council struggles to keep on top of the ever growing list of

:04:43. > :04:46.repairs, it's the motorists who are left to pick up the bill. There are

:04:46. > :04:50.fresh warnings of job losses and the impact on Hull's economy if new

:04:50. > :04:55.pollution control measures for ships are enforced. EU governments

:04:55. > :04:58.want to restrict the sulphur content on shipping fuels. The Hull

:04:59. > :05:01.Chamber of commerce is warning that extra costs will be passed on to

:05:01. > :05:09.shipping and freight firms, which could mean job cuts and some

:05:09. > :05:12.companies pulling out of Hull. Hull City's manager says the Tigers need

:05:12. > :05:17.to take the chances they are given if they are to be successful in

:05:17. > :05:21.future. Hull had plenty of shots at the Valley on Saturday but none

:05:21. > :05:26.beat Charlton's goalkeeper. Amid thunder and lightning, the game

:05:26. > :05:28.finished in a goalless draw. Today, Steve Bruce says it's important the

:05:28. > :05:34.players turn chances into goals in tomorrow's match at Doncaster We

:05:34. > :05:39.have to take our chances. It's as simple as that. We have created

:05:39. > :05:43.enough away from home to come away and win the game. Particularly in

:05:43. > :05:47.the second half. We must persevere with that. It is a bit of a trait

:05:47. > :05:49.that has unfortunately set in. But as I said, let's hope we can start

:05:49. > :05:56.taking the chances that we are creating, because the longer it

:05:56. > :06:02.goes, the more frustrating it gets. Hull's match against Doncaster is

:06:02. > :06:04.tomorrow night. You can listen to the action on BBC Radio Humberside.

:06:04. > :06:10.They'll also have commentary from Scunthorpe's League Cup match at

:06:10. > :06:14.Norwich. Kick-off in both games is at 7.45pm. Just two of our teams

:06:14. > :06:18.have been in action today. It was an emphatic win for Grimbsy in the

:06:18. > :06:21.conference. The Mariners beat Mansfield 4 - 1 in their first home

:06:21. > :06:23.win of the season. Meanwhile, after a disappointing defeat to

:06:23. > :06:26.Macclesfield at the weekend, Lincoln City managed a 1-1 draw at

:06:26. > :06:34.Gateshead. It's not been the greatest Bank Holiday weather.

:06:34. > :06:37.Let's see what the rest of the week It has turned out to be a typically

:06:37. > :06:39.wet Bank Holiday Monday across many parts but at least tomorrow will

:06:39. > :06:42.show a significant improvement. Dry with sunshine. We have further,

:06:42. > :06:45.patchier outbreaks of rain spreading in from the south-west at

:06:45. > :06:55.first tonight but it turns drier with clear spells and temperatures

:06:55. > :06:56.

:06:56. > :06:59.down to 13 or 14 degrees. Tuesday, much better. There is a chance of

:06:59. > :07:04.the odd light shower but many parts will be dry and bright with some

:07:04. > :07:08.decent spells of sunshine and that will make it feel pleasantly warm.

:07:08. > :07:11.Let's look at tomorrow's maximum temperatures. Moderate south-west
