:00:00. > 3:59:59Many thanks. There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel.
:00:00. > :00:15.And I'll be back with the Hello and welcome to Look North
:00:16. > :00:18.There are claims that the rdduction in Humber Bridge tolls has created a
:00:19. > :00:21.mini`housing boom in parts of Northern Lincolnshire. It is two
:00:22. > :00:25.years since the cost of travelling across the bridge was halved. And as
:00:26. > :00:27.our business correspondent, Paul Murphy, reports, homeowners and
:00:28. > :00:35.investors are voting with their feet. On this newly built housing
:00:36. > :00:40.estate in Barton, nearly half of all the people moving in used to live on
:00:41. > :00:44.the other side of the bridgd. Gavin is one of them. He says that the
:00:45. > :00:48.toll cuts were a big factor in his decision to move. There seels to be
:00:49. > :00:52.a lot coming over, indeed mx sister and brother`in`law moved in over
:00:53. > :00:56.here a couple of weeks ago, and one of my cousins is planning on moving
:00:57. > :01:01.over as well. I think there is a lot of people starting to look over here
:01:02. > :01:05.and see Barton for what it hs, it has a lovely local communitx feel to
:01:06. > :01:09.it. The tolls were cut two xears ago following a long campaign. The
:01:10. > :01:17.argument was that the bridgd was becoming a barrier to econolic
:01:18. > :01:21.growth. Now it seems that the growth is really happening. We havd
:01:22. > :01:24.invested in new plants and lachinery because we are busier. We h`ve
:01:25. > :01:29.recruited more local people, so we are investing in the local dconomy.
:01:30. > :01:34.Our local employees are invdsting in it as well as they spend thdir
:01:35. > :01:38.money. So it is great news `nd it has certainly made a differdnce
:01:39. > :01:41.Perhaps the most noticeable difference is to the local housing
:01:42. > :01:45.market, where it is claimed there are still bargains to be had. I
:01:46. > :01:49.guess it is due to several factors. One, that our prices are chdaper and
:01:50. > :01:53.everyone is on a budget these days and looking for better valud for
:01:54. > :01:58.properties. The other one is that we are a small commuity and we still
:01:59. > :02:01.have that village feel. As hndustry continues to invest, there hs a
:02:02. > :02:04.feeling of optimism in commtnities all around the Humber. For this
:02:05. > :02:12.town, the bridge toll cuts `ppear to be delivering what they prolised.
:02:13. > :02:15.Paul Murphy, BBC Look North, Barton. Two men have been released on police
:02:16. > :02:18.bail by officers investigathng the death of a man in Market Rasen. A
:02:19. > :02:22.thirty`five`year old man was found dead at a flat in the town on Friday
:02:23. > :02:26.night. A postmortem examination has proved inconclusive and offhcers say
:02:27. > :02:30.it may be some time before they know how he died.
:02:31. > :02:33.Concerns have been raised about the amount of money being lost by people
:02:34. > :02:38.who use fixed`odds betting terminals. The Campaign for Fair
:02:39. > :02:41.Gambling says more than ?13 million was lost by people living in Hull
:02:42. > :02:44.and North East Lincolnshire last year. But one Yorkshire MP says
:02:45. > :02:52.gambling isn't causing major problems. The facts are that problem
:02:53. > :02:55.gambling is on the way down. Every form of gambling, apart frol two,
:02:56. > :02:57.the richest people particip`te in more than the poorest peopld.
:02:58. > :03:03.Including fixed`odds betting terminals. More richer people play
:03:04. > :03:06.than poorer people. The onlx two forms of gambling that are played by
:03:07. > :03:11.more poorer people than richer people are bingo and scratch cards.
:03:12. > :03:13.The final flight from Humberside Airport to Copenhagen left this
:03:14. > :03:16.afternoon. Scandinavian Airlines launched the route in Octobdr, but
:03:17. > :03:25.say they haven't attracted dnough passengers to make it sustahnable.
:03:26. > :03:26.In Football, there were wins for Hull City and Scunthorpe Unhted
:03:27. > :03:30.yesterday. The victories me`n that the Tigers are almost certahn to
:03:31. > :03:33.stay in the Premier League while the Iron are closing in on promotion
:03:34. > :03:40.from League Two. Mike Morris rounds up all of yesterday's action.
:03:41. > :03:44.Before the game against Swansea City, Hull City manager Steve Bruce
:03:45. > :03:47.said a win would be enough to banish thoughts of relegation. The Tigers
:03:48. > :03:50.started well and George Boyd, who was back after a three`match ban for
:03:51. > :03:53.spitting, headed them in front shortly before half time. Swansea
:03:54. > :03:56.increased their share of possession in the second half, but didn't
:03:57. > :04:00.trouble Steve Harper, and the Tigers are now nine points clear of the
:04:01. > :04:04.relegation zone. It was a htge win in the context of where we `re in
:04:05. > :04:08.the season, against a fellow team that is in or around us. We have
:04:09. > :04:12.done enough to win the game and I think we showed the side of us that
:04:13. > :04:15.we have had all along ` there is a resilience among them and a
:04:16. > :04:18.determination to get somethhng. And they have done it again tod`y. In
:04:19. > :04:22.League Two, Scunthorpe Unitdd's unbeaten run has been extended to 25
:04:23. > :04:26.games after Sam Winnall's pdnalty gave them a 1`0 win at Torqtay. The
:04:27. > :04:29.home side had a penalty of their own, but Sam Slocombe saved it and
:04:30. > :04:37.his side need just three wins from five games to ensure promothon. Mike
:04:38. > :04:40.Morris, BBC Look North. Hull Kingston Rovers have gone out
:04:41. > :04:43.of the Challenge Cup at the fourth`round stage at Craven Park
:04:44. > :04:49.this afternoon. The Robins led at half`time against Warrington, but
:04:50. > :04:53.eventually lost 28`24. Thousands of people have taken part
:04:54. > :04:57.in the Lincoln 10K today. The race takes runners around the historic
:04:58. > :05:00.city. The winner finished in just over 32 minutes, but the majority of
:05:01. > :05:05.the entrants were simply trxing to raise money for charity. We are
:05:06. > :05:08.raising money and awareness for the children's neo`natal unit at the
:05:09. > :05:13.Lincoln Hospital. The vicar's outfit? I have no idea, it just came
:05:14. > :05:17.to me. And I will be juggling as well. We are all ex`RAF reghment
:05:18. > :05:21.gunners and we are running together. We're doing it for Help Me Hear
:05:22. > :05:23.which is for one of our comrades' sons, raising funds for his cochlear
:05:24. > :05:33.implants. Now it is time for the weather with
:05:34. > :05:37.Jennifer Batrum. Hello, good evening. There are signs th`t things
:05:38. > :05:41.are turning a bit more settled as we head through the week. But we do
:05:42. > :05:45.have some rain to get out of the way first. Some rain continuing through
:05:46. > :05:49.the night and there will be a lot of cloud around and the odd patch of
:05:50. > :05:53.mist and fog. Temperatures `t 1 `12 degrees. So another mild night to
:05:54. > :05:56.come. We have some heavy rahn in the forecast for Monday and it will be
:05:57. > :05:59.quite persistent as we go through the day. Temperatures tomorrow up to
:06:00. > :06:00.a high of 14 degrees. That is all from us for now.
:06:01. > :06:12.Goodbye. Good evening, after a fairly mild
:06:13. > :06:17.weekend, a fresher week in store for the week ahead. Moreshine at times
:06:18. > :06:21.but not a huge amount tomorrow because that's shaping up to be a
:06:22. > :06:24.wet day for just about all of us. The rain developing through the
:06:25. > :06:25.night and it is still wet at
