:00:09. > :00:13.Hello and welcome to Look North. Beverley's Saturday Market has been

:00:14. > :00:18.re`launched today after a ?2.5 million project to upgrade the

:00:19. > :00:20.historic site. The East Riding of Yorkshire Council says the

:00:21. > :00:26.regeneration has made the site more accessible. But it dropped its

:00:27. > :00:29.original plan to remove all the old stone cobbles or setts from the

:00:30. > :00:31.market place after local opposition. Sarah Walton reports.

:00:32. > :00:35.Despite the showery weather there were plenty of people out to see the

:00:36. > :00:38.new look Saturday Market, with a new ground surface and what the council

:00:39. > :00:44.described as a less cluttered appearance.

:00:45. > :00:47.But nearly a year and a half ago it was a different scene, with protests

:00:48. > :00:54.against the original plans which involved removing the old cobbles,

:00:55. > :00:59.known as setts. A compromise was reached ` some

:01:00. > :01:02.cobbles remained. But the council still carried out work to improve

:01:03. > :01:05.drainage, upgrade the street lighting and put in a proper power

:01:06. > :01:11.supply for the market. But there are mixed views on the

:01:12. > :01:20.change. It is lovely. They have made a good

:01:21. > :01:28.job of it. There are some bits that we are not sure of. People were

:01:29. > :01:38.complaining that there was no to cross the road. We are very pleased

:01:39. > :01:41.that that is finished. It has made a big improvement.

:01:42. > :01:49.And the council says the work has been worthwhile. A number of people

:01:50. > :01:58.were commenting on the Brewer Street of Revere. We want to the team this

:01:59. > :02:03.as an area of commerce. `` were commenting on the bad state of

:02:04. > :02:08.repair. Traders have been coming here for

:02:09. > :02:11.centuries. It's now hoped no more work will be needed here for many

:02:12. > :02:13.years to come. An injunction banning a planned

:02:14. > :02:17.Horse Drive tomorrow has been granted by Hull County Court.

:02:18. > :02:20.The police and city council say the event has caused disruption in the

:02:21. > :02:23.past. They're urging horse owners and riders not to break the order

:02:24. > :02:27.banning them from the city's roads. Hull Kingston Rovers are taking on

:02:28. > :02:36.Salford in the Superleague tonight. The match started a few minutes ago.

:02:37. > :02:39.There is currently no score. Speaking before kick off coach Craig

:02:40. > :02:42.Sandercock told Look North that they're determined to put their

:02:43. > :02:46.recent defeat to Widnes behind them ` but he says Salford will put up a

:02:47. > :02:53.good fight in Lancashire this evening. Salford have got some good

:02:54. > :02:58.attacking players. We will treat every game with the at most

:02:59. > :03:02.respects. We will hopefully put in a decent performance.

:03:03. > :03:05.There's commentary of the game on all frequencies on BBC Radio

:03:06. > :03:09.Humberside. And of course you'll be able to see the action in the

:03:10. > :03:22.Superleague show on Monday night at 11.25 on BBC One.

:03:23. > :03:24.Hull City take on Everton in their final Premier League match of the

:03:25. > :03:27.season tomorrow. The manager Steve Bruce says recent

:03:28. > :03:30.performances, like this defeat to Manchester United, have been

:03:31. > :03:34.affected by the prospect of meeting Arsenal in the FA cup final next

:03:35. > :03:38.week. But he says a win at home tomorrow will be the icing on the

:03:39. > :03:40.cake of a season the Tigers fans can be proud of.

:03:41. > :03:58.Overall we are satisfied with what we have done. There are certain

:03:59. > :04:02.results but you can remember. Passengers on a Hull Trains service

:04:03. > :04:05.will get the chance to see a special performance of poet Philip Larkin's

:04:06. > :04:08.Whitsun Weddings. 50 years after it was written, the

:04:09. > :04:12.poem, which describes a journey from Hull to London, will be performed on

:04:13. > :04:15.both a train and the platforms at Hull Paragon station next month.

:04:16. > :04:21.Passengers will also hear poetry readings by actor Bill Nighy.

:04:22. > :04:29.Police are warning of standing water on roads across the region. Here is

:04:30. > :04:39.the weather. The unsettled feel continues. Some

:04:40. > :04:48.of the showers will be heavy. A fairly mild night. As we go into

:04:49. > :04:58.Sunday we continue to see some showers.

:04:59. > :05:12.That is all for now. We are back tomorrow evening. Goodbye.

:05:13. > :05:19.Good evening. We have seen plenty of showers scattered across the country

:05:20. > :05:23.today. There will be drier and brighter spells in between. Low

:05:24. > :05:27.pressure is sitting across the country, with some tightly packed

:05:28. > :05:31.isobars to the south. That indicates some strong winds. They will

:05:32. > :05:36.continue throughout the night, going up to gale force at times. The main

:05:37. > :05:41.focus of the wettest weather across parts of West Wales is this rain. It

:05:42. > :05:47.will not be a particularly cold start to Sunday. Showers, not

:05:48. > :05:50.everywhere, some of us will see drier weather weather window of

:05:51. > :05:53.sunshine around, but be prepared for those showers if you're stepping out

:05:54. > :05:54.in the
