:00:00. > :00:10.the evening on the BBC News Channel. We are back at
:00:11. > :00:15.Good evening. A horse drive which was banned by the courts has gone
:00:16. > :00:18.ahead in Hull. Around 25 horses and carts took part. Hull City Council
:00:19. > :00:22.had secured an injunction banning the event from obstructing the
:00:23. > :00:28.highway. Police say although it went ahead, it caused minimal disruption
:00:29. > :00:32.as Tolu Adeoye reports. Galloping along the streets of Hull
:00:33. > :00:35.in spite of an injunction trying to ban the drive from the city's roads.
:00:36. > :00:38.It's a long`standing tradition. And, apart from causing some traffic
:00:39. > :00:44.delays, today's drive passed through without major disruption. Compared
:00:45. > :00:47.to previous years, where we have had significantly more numbers, there
:00:48. > :00:51.has been far less of a turnout this year. In terms of the event passing,
:00:52. > :00:57.it's gone smoothly with that event so far. And this is what the city
:00:58. > :01:00.council was trying to avoid ` scenes of chaos back in 2012 which lead to
:01:01. > :01:05.disruption for local residents and businesses. Even though Hull City
:01:06. > :01:07.Council had an injunction against today's drive, police had
:01:08. > :01:11.intelligence that would still go ahead, so 35 officers have been on
:01:12. > :01:20.hand to make sure it passes through safely. It's been a good day. A
:01:21. > :01:25.really good day. Apart from the rain! Everyone is enjoying it and
:01:26. > :01:30.getting on with it and that, so it's all right. It's part of tradition
:01:31. > :01:35.around here come I think. They train the horses and it's nice to see it.
:01:36. > :01:38.Crucially, the police say no public highways were blocked during today's
:01:39. > :01:43.drive, with horses and carts congregating at public houses
:01:44. > :01:50.between stops. So they say no action was taken against those involved on
:01:51. > :01:54.this occasion. A service of remembrance has been
:01:55. > :01:57.held to mark the 29th anniversary of the Bradford Stadium fire, in which
:01:58. > :02:01.two football fans from Lincolnshire were among the 56 supporters who
:02:02. > :02:05.died. Fire engulfed the main stand at Bradford City's Valley Parade as
:02:06. > :02:08.the home team played Lincoln City in 1985. This morning, players, fans
:02:09. > :02:12.and civic dignitaries held a minute's silence to remember the
:02:13. > :02:16.events. Part of Grimsby town centre has been
:02:17. > :02:20.closed again today as the council rips up newly`laid paving to carry
:02:21. > :02:23.out repair work. The so`called "shared space" was finished in
:02:24. > :02:26.December but paving on Bethlehem Street has been damaged by bad
:02:27. > :02:31.weather and so it's having to be re`laid.
:02:32. > :02:37.Listen carefully and you can hear as well as see the problem on one of
:02:38. > :02:39.Grimsby's newest roads. This paving on Bethlehem Street was only
:02:40. > :02:46.completed in December, but already it's failing and, in places, has had
:02:47. > :02:50.to be patched. Today, work has started to dig it all up again. They
:02:51. > :02:54.have been out here every single day since they supposedly finished it.
:02:55. > :02:58.They were repairing it, changing it. They were out here yesterday,
:02:59. > :03:02.digging up and replacing it. It is just continual. The whole thing is
:03:03. > :03:07.rubbish. So I don't think it will last. When they do it again, I don't
:03:08. > :03:10.think it will last again. They should have tarmacked it, really.
:03:11. > :03:14.This is a shared space ` it encourages bikes, pedestrians and
:03:15. > :03:19.cars to negotiate the area together. The council denies the fault with it
:03:20. > :03:22.is in its construction. The work has been done right, it has been closely
:03:23. > :03:25.supervised. The problem has been with the weather conditions. I don't
:03:26. > :03:29.think we could have reasonably expected the huge amount of rain
:03:30. > :03:32.that we had literally at the back end of last year and that is what
:03:33. > :03:36.being the largest contributory factor to this. So the work has
:03:37. > :03:39.started to put it right, with more disruption. It'll need to be fully
:03:40. > :03:44.investigated, re`laid and the road closed off. And that's been worrying
:03:45. > :03:47.businesses like this hairdressers. We have a lot of elderly people
:03:48. > :03:56.coming in taxis, they won't be able to be dropped off. There are no
:03:57. > :04:00.buses. So I think next week, yes, it will really affect business. But
:04:01. > :04:05.there won't be any change to the layout despite continued concern
:04:06. > :04:09.over its overall safety. The work is hoped to be completed by Thursday.
:04:10. > :04:13.Firefighters are still working a recycling centre Scunthorpe after a
:04:14. > :04:17.fire at the site last week. At one stage, 40 firefighters were needed
:04:18. > :04:21.to control the fire which took hold in thousands of tonnes of waste
:04:22. > :04:25.plastic on Wednesday. Officers say there will be a presence at the site
:04:26. > :04:29.until they are confident there is no further risk.
:04:30. > :04:33.It was a disappointing result for Tigers fans, beaten 2`0 at home by
:04:34. > :04:38.Everton in their last Premier League game of the season. But there were
:04:39. > :04:42.applause and cheers after the final whistle as Steve Bruce and his squad
:04:43. > :04:45.came back onto the pitch to say thank you to the fans for their
:04:46. > :04:49.support this season. The Tigers finished 16th overall and now have
:04:50. > :04:52.to prepare for next weekend's FA Cup final. If we're being honest, we
:04:53. > :04:56.have been safe for weeks, we've never been in any relegation
:04:57. > :04:59.trouble. It's been very difficult the last month or so because
:05:00. > :05:02.everyone has been talking about or thinking about the FA Cup final, so
:05:03. > :05:06.thankfully this season has finished. We have finished where we finished
:05:07. > :05:10.and we have got an FA Cup final to look forward to, thankfully.
:05:11. > :05:12.Let's get a look at the weather now. Here's Jennifer Bartram with the
:05:13. > :05:16.forecast. Good evening. Some further days of
:05:17. > :05:19.unsettled weather to come. Through tonight, we continue to see the
:05:20. > :05:36.showers moving in but they will become lighter and less frequent.
:05:37. > :05:39.Any shots you have become more slow`moving. Some hail and funding
:05:40. > :05:43.places. Some spells of sunshine between the showers. Temperatures
:05:44. > :05:49.tomorrow up to around 12 or 13 degrees. As we go to the next few
:05:50. > :05:52.days, keep the unsettled theme but then high pressure starts to build
:05:53. > :05:57.so by Wednesday and Thursday, it is find with highs of 16.
:05:58. > :06:00.That's all from Look North. We're back at 10:15pm tonight, straight
:06:01. > :06:06.after the national news. Bye for now.
:06:07. > :06:13.Good evening. We have still got some very heavy showers out there. For
:06:14. > :06:17.ors we are finishing the day on a more positive note. Clearer skies to
:06:18. > :06:23.the south indicating sunshine but the cloud still streaming in further
:06:24. > :06:25.north. Tomorrow's forecast brings a similar mixture, sunshine and
:06:26. > :06:29.showers although the winds will start to be lighter. That process
:06:30. > :06:32.begins through the night tonight. A shattering of showers still
:06:33. > :06:35.possible. Clearer skies across northern Scotland probably our
:06:36. > :06:40.lowest temperatures here. For many temperatures will begin Monday
:06:41. > :06:44.morning at around 8 or 9 degrees already with a few showers
:06:45. > :06:46.morning at around 8 or 9 degrees think be drier spells in between, as
:06:47. > :06:47.morning at around 8 or 9 degrees with the nature of showers,
:06:48. > :06:51.morning at around 8 or 9 degrees not everywhere all of the time.
:06:52. > :06:55.Cloudy with brighter spells mixed in across parts of northern England and
:06:56. > :06:58.southern Scotland already with the potential of one or two to be heavy.
:06:59. > :07:02.On northern Scotland on balance through the day on Monday while
:07:03. > :07:03.there could be a few showers, a slight improvement here. But they
:07:04. > :07:05.will start
