:00:00. > :00:11.actor Rick Mayle has died suddenly at the age of 56.

:00:12. > :00:13.A two`day`old baby dies aftdr failings at a Lincoln hospital.

:00:14. > :00:19.Now his father says the samd mistakes could happen again.

:00:20. > :00:25.The only mistake we made was assuming that people were doing

:00:26. > :00:30.their jobs properly. I think opportunities are being missed to

:00:31. > :00:35.get pregnant women on the correct pregnancy pact. Rail servicds

:00:36. > :00:48.suspended as flash floods hhts part of Lincolnshire.

:00:49. > :00:52.Anger as deadlines to improve this format it passed by, residents say

:00:53. > :00:59.they are still `` there is still an unbearable smell.

:01:00. > :01:07.The winner of Britain's got talent is... Collabro.

:01:08. > :01:09.What now for the Lincolnshire singer ground winner of Britain's Got

:01:10. > :01:17.Talent? The father of a baby who didd

:01:18. > :01:20.after failings by Lincoln County Hospital says he's concerned the

:01:21. > :01:26.same mistakes could happen `gain. Ian Goddard's son, Bobby,

:01:27. > :01:29.was just two days old An inquest heard how staff hnvolved

:01:30. > :01:35.in the care of his mother, Kate Burns, didn't monitor her

:01:36. > :01:37.properly and didn't spot shd'd Ian agreed to talk to

:01:38. > :01:44.BBC Look North. But Kate is still too upset to

:01:45. > :01:52.speak about what happened. Bobby Goddard died in his p`rents

:01:53. > :01:56.arms at just two days old. Last week, a coroner ruled failings

:01:57. > :01:59.in maternity care at Lincoln County His father says

:02:00. > :02:05.the hardest thing for the f`mily to accept is that several opportunities

:02:06. > :02:21.were missed to spot their son's life Kate took over to Lady and her folic

:02:22. > :02:26.acid, she didn't drink or sloke `` vitamin diesel stop the onlx mistake

:02:27. > :02:32.we made was that we assumed that people were doing their jobs

:02:33. > :02:39.properly. She was wrongly categorised as having a low risk

:02:40. > :02:43.pregnancy. When she admitted herself into hospital, six days overdue

:02:44. > :02:51.there were delays in Bobby's delivery. In terms of the b`by, if

:02:52. > :02:53.the mother is not recognised as having diabetes and approprhately

:02:54. > :02:59.managed, the baby could be born to big, could have problems during

:03:00. > :03:00.labour and the delivery. Th`t could have longer term consequencds for

:03:01. > :03:02.the baby. When Bobby was delivered,

:03:03. > :03:04.he wasn't breathing. Staff resuscitated him,

:03:05. > :03:06.but he'd suffered brain dam`ge. Nothing could be done to prolong

:03:07. > :03:08.his life. The Trust has apologised to Bobby's

:03:09. > :03:10.family. a range of new procedures to reduce

:03:11. > :03:16.the risk of anything But Ian still has concerns

:03:17. > :03:33.for other families. One of the hardest things as a

:03:34. > :03:38.father that I have had to do is to explain to my three`year`old, as he

:03:39. > :03:41.was then, that he wasn't gohng to be a big brother. I think they are

:03:42. > :03:46.still missing opportunities to get pregnant women on the correct

:03:47. > :03:47.pregnancy path at the earlidst opportunity.

:03:48. > :03:51.Ian is now involved with thd charity Count The Kicks which aims to better

:03:52. > :03:54.educate parents on what thex can look out for to help ensure

:03:55. > :03:58.He says he, Cate and four`year`old Zak `re

:03:59. > :04:09.looking forward, but Bobby will forever be part of their falily

:04:10. > :04:14.Thank you for watching. In ` moment on the programme.

:04:15. > :04:18.Now there's a call for the Government to help Boston's

:04:19. > :04:23.For years, it's brought misdry to those living next to it

:04:24. > :04:27.and even now it's closed, a landfill site in East Yorkshire is still

:04:28. > :04:32.Residents claim not enough `ction has been taken against the owners

:04:33. > :04:37.who have just missed a deadline to grass over the site near Gilberdyke.

:04:38. > :04:39.In a moment, I'll find out what the Environment

:04:40. > :04:42.Agency is doing about it, btt first our environment correspondent

:04:43. > :04:48.Underneath this hill is a hdap of rubbish, and although thhs tip

:04:49. > :04:58.in Gilberdyke has closed, complaints about it keep motnting.

:04:59. > :05:02.We can sit in our lounge and you can smell it.

:05:03. > :05:06.At points, this tip has reached double the legal limit in hdight.

:05:07. > :05:16.And it's also led to anger that more hasn't been done by the authorities.

:05:17. > :05:23.It is complete frustration that it just keeps dragging on. The

:05:24. > :05:24.authorities have the wherewhthal to force the situation, they choose not

:05:25. > :05:25.to. In 1974, the site was grantdd

:05:26. > :05:28.planning permission for landfill. In December 2011,

:05:29. > :05:30.City Plant Ltd took over thd site. After that,

:05:31. > :05:33.five legal notices were issted to And in January 2013 the sitd

:05:34. > :05:48.stopped receiving general w`ste They have to get tougher and make

:05:49. > :05:53.the companies live up to thdir promises. If they don't, thd people

:05:54. > :05:54.will go on suffering and th`t is unacceptable.

:05:55. > :05:57.And no`one is more familiar with the stink than Kevin Clifford.

:05:58. > :06:00.He lives in the shadow of the tip and claims

:06:01. > :06:07.the ongoing saga has caused his wife to suffer from severe stress.

:06:08. > :06:12.The agency could have done better. They have crossed their fingers and

:06:13. > :06:18.hope that things would get better, they have listened to promises the

:06:19. > :06:21.operator that have never materialised and I think th`t we are

:06:22. > :06:22.well overdue for so much sthffer action.

:06:23. > :06:26.We asked City Plant Limited, which runs the site, for a comment,

:06:27. > :06:31.Well, East Riding Council h`s told us today that it's trying to resolve

:06:32. > :06:33.the problems, but it's the Environment Agdncy who

:06:34. > :06:35.has responsibility for landfill sites and Rich`rd

:06:36. > :06:50.What they want over the last three years?

:06:51. > :06:57.The landfill site stopped rdceiving waste about 18 months ago. Since

:06:58. > :07:01.then, they have been working with the operator to try to make sure the

:07:02. > :07:03.restoration of the site. Th`t has not taken place in the timely manner

:07:04. > :07:08.we expecting. But David Davis MP says you

:07:09. > :07:17.promised two years ago to end these Do you accept that you have failed?

:07:18. > :07:25.No, it is City Plant Limited's sponsor ability. The agency is

:07:26. > :07:28.responsible for not allowing smells, run`off water, contamination of

:07:29. > :07:35.land, all of these have been happening for three years. @nd what

:07:36. > :07:39.we have done as of March is issued a series of legal notices that acquire

:07:40. > :07:43.the operator to take certain actions by certain dates and if the operator

:07:44. > :07:47.complies with these notices, by the end of the year the site will be

:07:48. > :07:52.restored and in a safe condhtion for the environment and the loc`l..

:07:53. > :07:58.Have the Environment Agency not got enough teeth? No, we take these

:07:59. > :08:03.matters very seriously and H fairly tough regulator. People that live

:08:04. > :08:08.locally that are watching this will see you as particularly tough, you

:08:09. > :08:13.say you will force the owners to use sort that by October, given what you

:08:14. > :08:17.said two years ago, why shotld people believe you? Yeah like we

:08:18. > :08:22.have to give the operator an opportunity to comply. If they

:08:23. > :08:23.don't, we have two as did otr next steps which will likely I gtess

:08:24. > :08:31.involve prosecution. Then it would be a matter for the courts. How will

:08:32. > :08:40.this end? Or, the site will be restored. `` ultimately. If I drive

:08:41. > :08:47.past in November, will the smell still be there, yes or no? That is a

:08:48. > :08:55.difficult question. That is why I am asking it. You say it is gohng to be

:08:56. > :08:56.done by October. You'll rack that is in the hands of City Plant Limited.

:08:57. > :09:11.If they comply, then it will be Have you been affected?

:09:12. > :10:09.Are you reassured by what you have heard?

:10:10. > :10:12.tightly`drawn boundary is stopping future economic growth.

:10:13. > :10:15.Ten influential figures will make up the panel.

:10:16. > :10:18.Hull City Council says expanding the city's boundaries to pl`ces

:10:19. > :10:23.like Willerby and Hedon will attract more investment.

:10:24. > :10:26.People living near Gainsborough have been hit by flash flooding following

:10:27. > :10:32.The village of Blyton has bden particularly badly affected.

:10:33. > :10:52.Several homes and businesses here have been flooded. The first reports

:10:53. > :10:57.of flooding came in at around two p.m.. One of the businesses affected

:10:58. > :11:02.is this ice cream shop behind me, a family owned business that hs

:11:03. > :11:08.flooded because there was an overflow. One of the owners is

:11:09. > :11:12.George. Tell us what happendd. We noticed the rain, next thing we know

:11:13. > :11:17.it was coming into the shop and within 30 minutes the whole shop was

:11:18. > :11:23.flooded. Do you have estimates of how extensive the damages? Well we

:11:24. > :11:28.will be closed for a few daxs. I imagine it would be quite bhg. Is

:11:29. > :11:34.this something that has happened before? Yes, every time there is a

:11:35. > :11:41.lot of rain, it seems to happen I don't think the drainage is right.

:11:42. > :11:46.In terms of the monetary cost, any idea how much it'll cost? Wd don't

:11:47. > :11:52.know yet, but I imagine it would be a amount. Thank you very much. This

:11:53. > :11:57.isn't just a problem affecthng this area, several areas are affdcted.

:11:58. > :11:58.The council says 28 streets are affected.

:11:59. > :12:01.The majority of these are in Gainsborough, but there `re also

:12:02. > :12:07.The council is now distributing sandbags to residents.

:12:08. > :12:12.Network Rail has suspended services between Lincoln and Worksop

:12:13. > :12:19.because of flooding between Gainsborough and Retford.

:12:20. > :12:30.There's also a lot of standhng water on roads.

:12:31. > :12:46.If you have been affected, hf you have any photos of the flooding we

:12:47. > :12:48.would like to see them. Thank you for watching.

:12:49. > :12:55.He was crowed champion in Britain's Got Talent, so wh`t now

:12:56. > :13:04.Lincolnshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Alan Hardwick told me

:13:05. > :13:15.I haven't had time yet to think what it means.

:13:16. > :13:29.He was crowed champion in Britain's Got Talent, so wh`t now

:13:30. > :13:38.As you heard of air, a busy weather night.

:13:39. > :13:47.28 millimetres in 20 minutes in Gainsborough, about half a lonth's

:13:48. > :13:52.worth of rain. A lot of rain. Hardly surprise. More thunderstorms to

:13:53. > :13:58.come, and again tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon, the showers will

:13:59. > :14:03.be more scattered. We still have low pressure in charge of our wdather,

:14:04. > :14:11.it is dragging warm and unstable air from the South. Things should settle

:14:12. > :14:16.down by Thursday. We have bden dragging in these thunderstorms from

:14:17. > :14:20.the near constant. There is the big clump of thunderstorms, the white

:14:21. > :14:27.cloud that has moved off from Skegness at about 5:45 p.m.. We are

:14:28. > :14:33.now looking down to the South. It is quite a nice evening right `cross

:14:34. > :14:36.East or Yorkshire. Fine with warm sunshine. Thunderstorms track North,

:14:37. > :14:42.there will be a renewed risk of some localised flooding. It looks like

:14:43. > :14:49.most of the thunderstorms whll be clear, or just about Clay, by dawn.

:14:50. > :14:58.Temperatures warm, 13 or 14 Celsius. `` just about clear.

:14:59. > :15:08.A fine start, a dry start, some mist and fog in places, otherwisd good

:15:09. > :15:13.sunshine. Through the afternoon as temperatures rise, we will see a

:15:14. > :15:17.further scattering of thunddry downpours. They should move through

:15:18. > :15:23.quickly. Quite a few areas will miss them all together and stay dry.

:15:24. > :15:29.Fairly warm, temperatures jtst a little above average forward early

:15:30. > :15:33.June, highs of 21 Celsius. The good news is that Wednesday, Thursday and

:15:34. > :15:38.Friday look warm and dry with some sunshine.

:15:39. > :15:42.It is grey because you also tweet and he did about the weather, a

:15:43. > :15:59.wonderful tweet, and some torrential bust 2`mac. `` busts. It should have

:16:00. > :16:04.said bursts. Last week, you can get your name on the screen. Reread it.

:16:05. > :16:21.OK. One in four residents in Boston is

:16:22. > :16:27.described as of described as a foreign national. Alan Hardwick

:16:28. > :16:32.travelled to London to disctss the need for extra funding. We will hear

:16:33. > :16:37.from Alan Hardwick, but first Jake has spent the day in Boston.

:16:38. > :16:39.Boston's West Street, where the town's new migrant

:16:40. > :16:43.But, away from the streets, the increase in population hs also

:16:44. > :16:48.At the Park Academy, two thirds of the pupils ard

:16:49. > :17:01.Many will tell you that thex feel there has been a impact on services.

:17:02. > :17:06.It is something they have pdrsonal experience of. It is diffictlt to

:17:07. > :17:10.get into the doctors. A big impact on school places. Having an impact

:17:11. > :17:11.on doctors and hospitals. Today politicians from across the

:17:12. > :17:14.East Midlands met in Westminster. They've been focusing

:17:15. > :17:18.on the challenges face by services providers, like schools,

:17:19. > :17:20.doctors surgeries and the police. Amongst those taking part,

:17:21. > :17:23.a representative of Boston Borough Council and Lincolnshire's Police

:17:24. > :17:36.and Crime Commissioner. When you have a high level of churn

:17:37. > :17:40.in a migrant population, it can be very hard to determine exactly how

:17:41. > :17:41.many people are in the town and therefore to access the resources

:17:42. > :17:41.you need. The Chair of Boston's Lithu`nian

:17:42. > :17:44.community says migrants also deserve decent services as much

:17:45. > :17:57.as any other citizen. Paperwork and they pay taxes. The

:17:58. > :18:00.money that has been spent, these people have paid taxes.

:18:01. > :18:02.Boston Borough Council will hope today's meeting persuades the

:18:03. > :18:13.Government that more must bd done to help with the impact of migration.

:18:14. > :18:22.After the meeting, Alan Hardwick told me what impact migration is

:18:23. > :18:26.having on police resources. We cannot pretend it is not having some

:18:27. > :18:30.impact, but the truth is th`t we are coping, we are doing more and more

:18:31. > :18:35.with less and less and I hope the Government don't expect us to do

:18:36. > :18:41.everything with nothing. But immigration is something th`t we can

:18:42. > :18:44.tackle, along with our partners Today's meeting was about

:18:45. > :18:48.immigration and its effects in the East Midlands and I can asstre all

:18:49. > :18:52.the people of the East Midl`nds including Lincolnshire, that we have

:18:53. > :18:57.a very mature and effective partnership of all of the forces to

:18:58. > :19:01.deal with things like seriots and organised crime. You hinted that you

:19:02. > :19:08.cannot do everything with nothing, do you want more money? One of the

:19:09. > :19:12.things that I was grateful to hear about was people supporting a cause

:19:13. > :19:17.for more money for the police to be able to cope with... It is `n

:19:18. > :19:23.unknown quantity, isn't it? Nobody quite knows how many immigr`nts we

:19:24. > :19:26.have... But you are managing OK crime is falling, if crime hs

:19:27. > :19:32.falling he don't see any more money, do you? We are managing OK, but it

:19:33. > :19:40.is looking to the future. Wd can always do with more in the way of

:19:41. > :19:43.Government help. And you know what people in Boston say, do yot think

:19:44. > :19:50.Lincolnshire is at saturation point as far as migrants are concdrned?

:19:51. > :19:54.That is not the impression H got from the various representatives

:19:55. > :20:01.today. What I got was a sense of lets look at immigration in a

:20:02. > :20:07.positive light, and work in a positive light. Does a PC in Boston

:20:08. > :20:12.need special help and trainhng? I think so, yes. It should be part of

:20:13. > :20:17.the training for every membdr of every police force, because

:20:18. > :20:23.immigration is with us, and will continue to be so. Mishler, good to

:20:24. > :20:30.talk to you, thank you very much indeed.

:20:31. > :20:36.Is the and so more money? You may have of you.

:20:37. > :20:41.`` a view. Recognised as tied up for a charity

:20:42. > :20:46.run yesterday. It is estimated 000 turned up. It was held in mdmory of

:20:47. > :20:50.Jane Tomlinson, Yorkshire ftndraiser who died of cancer. Over 5000 took

:20:51. > :21:02.part. Thomas Leak from Donnington on Bain

:21:03. > :21:05.appeared on Britain's Got T`lent with

:21:06. > :21:12.his musical theatre group Collabro. Collabro were crowned winners of

:21:13. > :21:22.Britain's Got Talent. They'll now perform in front

:21:23. > :21:25.of her Majesty the Queen Gemma Dawson has been to visit

:21:26. > :21:29.his family in Louth. Thomas, here second from thd right

:21:30. > :21:33.with Collabro, on Saturday's Back in Louth, his mum still can't

:21:34. > :21:52.believe her former choirboy is now We haven't even stopped yet, it has

:21:53. > :21:56.been all go. Being at the show and then coming back and doing

:21:57. > :22:00.interviews. I haven't had thme yet to even think about what it means.

:22:01. > :22:06.People here have been supporting Thomas and his Collabro co`stars

:22:07. > :22:08.since their first audition `nd now they are celebrating their success.

:22:09. > :22:10.At his former school, students have been inspired by

:22:11. > :22:27.I play quite a few instruments and to think that he can do such a thing

:22:28. > :22:33.like that, it makes me push myself. Tom was quiet, really studious and

:22:34. > :22:34.polite, but very determined. It is not surprising that he has `chieved

:22:35. > :22:36.his ambition. And another Lincolnshire talent

:22:37. > :22:40.show star is celebrating today. Ella Henderson's debut single has

:22:41. > :22:45.topped the iTunes Download Chart. So what will the future hold

:22:46. > :22:47.for Collabro? Last year's Britain's Got T`lent

:22:48. > :22:49.winners, the shadow theatre group Attraction

:22:50. > :22:53.have since performed worldwhde and Ashley and her dog Pudsey

:22:54. > :23:00.were winners in 2012. Pudsey's own movie will be

:23:01. > :23:04.in cinemas next month. And the series before was won

:23:05. > :23:07.by Scottish singer Jai McDowell his debut album peaked

:23:08. > :23:21.at number 54 in the charts. Tom's stepmum was in the audience

:23:22. > :23:29.and think Collabro could do even better. I think it will be ` lot of

:23:30. > :23:31.hard work and no rest. But, you know, just give them all thd luck in

:23:32. > :23:35.the world and they will go far. But first for Collabro

:23:36. > :23:38.an appointment with the Quedn. Part of their prize is to pdrform

:23:39. > :23:40.at this year's I'm joined now

:23:41. > :24:00.by Thomas' mum Gabriella McCree You can take your eyes off the

:24:01. > :24:04.television, could you? I cannot believe it has happened. I have not

:24:05. > :24:10.had a minute to sit down and think about it. They only got togdther a

:24:11. > :24:17.month before the audition. @bout five weeks. They only got together

:24:18. > :24:24.to sing in January, and then the auditions were in February. From

:24:25. > :24:34.choirboy to boy band member in a matter of weeks, you must bd so

:24:35. > :24:41.proud. It is so amazing. To see your child achieve so much, I cannot

:24:42. > :24:49.describe the feeling. How w`s your weekend? What you treated lhke a

:24:50. > :24:55.VIP? My husband was. Thomas' stepdad had one of the official tickets We

:24:56. > :24:59.didn't think I was going to get in. But Thomas' girlfriend managed to

:25:00. > :25:07.get some... It is all free tickets. So I queued for 11 hours. 10 hours?

:25:08. > :25:16.In torrential rain and I botght this on a little. `` I caught thd sun.

:25:17. > :25:23.Did they think they were gohng to win? They wanted it desperately

:25:24. > :25:29.They love musical theatre, they have worked so hard. What I don't think
