:02:14. > :02:18.This is something the industry has had over shx years
:02:19. > :02:24.Extra fuel costs was one of the reasons given
:02:25. > :02:27.for the scrapping of the Harwich to Denmark ferry service.
:02:28. > :02:36.Many hope Hull's ferry routds don't suffer a similar fate.

:02:41. > :02:50.Not for the first time, thex will argue their hands are tied by
:02:51. > :02:57.regulations. The shipping industry wants to equip new technology on
:02:58. > :03:02.their older vessels. Many whll argue that what will happen if thd east
:03:03. > :03:06.coast ferry routes are cut back or even closed, worst case scenario,
:03:07. > :03:11.traffic will get on the roads, driving south to the Channel ports,
:03:12. > :03:13.creating congestion. And pollution, which is what they are trying to

:03:23. > :03:27.idea if it led to lorries h`ving to travel further to get to ports.

:03:35. > :03:38.government needs to look at reducing the impact of all modes of
:03:39. > :03:41.transport, and we need to look at how we transition to a lower impact
:03:42. > :03:47.economy in the best possibld way. What's more important dash of ferry
:03:48. > :03:53.sailing or ferry sailing behng lost, and jobs, or reducing sulphur
:03:54. > :03:59.emissions? That is not a fahr question. That is the questhon on
