:00:07. > :00:12.Hundreds of protestors have turned out in Beverley to call

:00:13. > :00:14.for an end to wind turbines being built in East Yorkshire.

:00:15. > :00:17.The Government says they are needed to reduce carbon emissions

:00:18. > :00:34.But protestors at the march say the area already has enough.

:00:35. > :00:43.Enough is enough. No more wind turbines. These campaigners in

:00:44. > :00:46.Beverley took their message to the council this morning. We have said

:00:47. > :00:52.we are in favour of wind turbines, but there must be a balance. We

:00:53. > :00:58.don't want to industrialise the region. There are representatives

:00:59. > :01:04.from 32 villages here today. The council says they RM ally to the

:01:05. > :01:10.cause and not an enemy. Whichever way you look at it, this policy...

:01:11. > :01:16.David Davis says his government is doing what it can to give local

:01:17. > :01:20.people more of a say. Until last year, five out of six wind farms

:01:21. > :01:24.were allowed an appeal. Know it is about half which is much more

:01:25. > :01:31.sensible. That means if you go to appeal with a reasonable argument,

:01:32. > :01:36.you have a chaps. Protesters say they expect their council to keep

:01:37. > :01:37.fighting those who submit applications.

:01:38. > :01:40.And they will be taking an in`depth look at the issue of onshore wind

:01:41. > :01:46.It is the first housing complex of its kind in the East Riding and

:01:47. > :01:49.But finally ten people with special needs have moved

:01:50. > :01:52.into their own purpose built apartments so they can live

:01:53. > :02:08.This 42`year`old man has always been looked after by his parents. Now in

:02:09. > :02:12.their late 60s, they admit that caring for someone with his level of

:02:13. > :02:20.special needs is getting much harder. His needs are many and

:02:21. > :02:25.faded. It is fair to say that if somebody is not within 24 hours a

:02:26. > :02:29.day, his life would be in danger. The dream has always been friendly

:02:30. > :02:36.to live independently but with support. I couldn't bear the thought

:02:37. > :02:43.of him being in a home. He is a quiet person. He needs lots of

:02:44. > :02:51.space. It has been a seven`year SLORC. This 1's muddy field has been

:02:52. > :03:00.transformed into ten purpose`built flats for adults with special needs.

:03:01. > :03:03.While he will be encouraged to do as much as possible for himself, he

:03:04. > :03:08.will still get round`the`clock support from a team of carers.

:03:09. > :03:11.Families like the Watsons have been the driving force backing the

:03:12. > :03:17.project. And they have had a lot of support and advice from the council.

:03:18. > :03:22.This is the only one in the East Riding at the moment. There are

:03:23. > :03:26.others in West Yorkshire. At the moment, we are looking at scene we

:03:27. > :03:33.can replicate this system elsewhere in East Riding. It might have taken

:03:34. > :03:40.seven years to get this arrangement in place, but Lee says it is very

:03:41. > :03:45.worthwhile. I am happy. Like Mac now it is hoped that this level of care

:03:46. > :03:49.can be replicated elsewhere in the region.

:03:50. > :03:52.Hundreds of people have turned out to see the emergency services

:03:53. > :03:55.The Rescue Day event features simulated emergencies like these,

:03:56. > :03:58.and organisers say it serves a number of different purposes.

:03:59. > :04:04.Today is the biggest safety event of its type in the world. This is about

:04:05. > :04:10.people having a fantastic day but taking away the key safety messages

:04:11. > :04:11.to allow families to survive certain incident types.

:04:12. > :04:13.Beverley's Kyle Edmund has been knocked out of the

:04:14. > :04:17.Kyle ` nearest the camera ` lost to Luxembourg's Gilles Muller 7`6, 3`6,

:04:18. > :04:31.After what had been a fine day, more in the rush hours this afternoon. We

:04:32. > :04:36.have had a yellow weather warning in force for showers. They will

:04:37. > :04:43.continue over the next couple of hours. The showers could be sundry

:04:44. > :04:51.in nature. We will see the return of sea fog and mist for the coast and

:04:52. > :04:55.the hills. It will be humid. Cloudy start tomorrow. And improving

:04:56. > :04:57.picture by the afternoon. Sunny spells in store Monday.

:04:58. > :05:16.We are back tomorrow afternoon at 5:50pm. Have a good night.

:05:17. > :05:21.We are seeing thunderstorms developing. Some of these will stay

:05:22. > :05:27.with us well on into the evening to be replaced with outbreaks of rain

:05:28. > :05:29.later in the night. The rain we had heading into western Scotland and

:05:30. > :05:36.Northern Ireland and spreading east across the UK. There are some

:05:37. > :05:40.heavier bursts. Coast and hill fog around and a warm muggy night to

:05:41. > :05:45.come. Tomorrow we start with cloud. Damp in places. Many of us will see

:05:46. > :05:48.brighter skies arrive. There will be showers around. Light ones for Wales

:05:49. > :05:50.West earn England.
