:00:53. > :00:54.disruption will hit profits following plans

:01:19. > :01:21.French police have been askdd to investigate an incident hnvolving

:01:22. > :01:24.the Hull-based Ukip MEP Mikd Hookem at the European Parliament

:01:25. > :01:29.Former party member Steven Woolfe was rushed to hospital

:01:30. > :01:32.after an altercation with Mr Hookem earlier this month.

:01:33. > :01:34.Today the President of the European Parliament said

:01:35. > :01:38.he wanted police to investigate what he called

:01:39. > :01:44.It comes as Ukip publish thdir own report into the clash,

:01:45. > :01:47.issuing a formal reprimand to Mike Hookem, but saying Steven

:01:48. > :01:57.It's still not clear exactlx what happened in that heated

:01:58. > :02:01.exchange at the European Parliament almost three weeks ago.

:02:02. > :02:04.MEP Steven Woolfe spent three nights in hospital

:02:05. > :02:09.after collapsing on the day the altercation took place.

:02:10. > :02:14.Yorkshire and Humber MEP Mike Hookem has admitetd th`t

:02:15. > :02:16.a scuffle took place, but has denied punching Mr Woolfe

:02:17. > :02:18.following an argument between the two men.

:02:19. > :02:27.Ukip's party chairman today said he considered suspending

:02:28. > :02:29.Mike Hookem, but decided to issue a formal reprimand

:02:30. > :02:40.because he was satisfied Mr Hookem wasn't the insitigator.

:02:41. > :02:43.One thing I am guilty of is raising to the bait and going into the room.

:02:44. > :02:48.And I apologise to the partx and the membership for that action.

:02:49. > :02:51.Today, the president of the European Parliament,

:02:52. > :02:53.Martin Schultz, called for an investigation by French police.

:02:54. > :02:56.Because of what he claimed were the serious and possible

:02:57. > :03:01.A committee found accounts diverged substantially between the two men.

:03:02. > :03:03.And he said that medical reports suggested that Steven Woolfd

:03:04. > :03:10.But Mike Hookem has hit back and accuses the president

:03:11. > :03:13.of the European Parliament of making defamatory statements which falsely

:03:14. > :03:22.Mr Hookem also claimed the accusations would not h`ve been

:03:23. > :03:25.made without the legal immunity the European Parliament offdrs.

:03:26. > :03:28.Any French police investigation I will welcome, because it will once

:03:29. > :03:35.Steven Woolfe, once seen as a rising star in Ukip,

:03:36. > :03:39.has now left the party, but still sits as an MEP.

:03:40. > :03:42.It's now down to the French authorities to decide whethdr anyone

:03:43. > :03:49.Will we ever know what exactly what happened in this

:03:50. > :03:59.This has been the issue frol day one. We simply don't know what

:04:00. > :04:03.happened in that room betwedn Mike Hookem and Steven Woolfe. This will

:04:04. > :04:08.be the issue for the French prosecutors should they choose to

:04:09. > :04:14.investigate this matter. Thdre were no eyewitnesses there. Ukip will

:04:15. > :04:21.desperately be hoping this does not, police matter. In publishing their

:04:22. > :04:27.report today, they hope to love on. To get back to business, because

:04:28. > :04:32.they have a leadership contdst, they will be choosing a new leaddr. They

:04:33. > :04:37.know how damaging this so-c`lled altercation has been. But I suspect

:04:38. > :04:47.we may not have heard the l`st of it. I'm joined by a Ukip MEP. He was

:04:48. > :04:54.at the European Parliament when it took place. Good evening. Good

:04:55. > :04:58.evening. I was indeed. The hncident is to be referred to the Frdnch

:04:59. > :05:05.police. This is getting mord passing for your party, isn't it? I am not

:05:06. > :05:09.sure it is not getting more and more passing for the European Parliament.

:05:10. > :05:13.We have had two investigations, one by the party and Parliament's

:05:14. > :05:15.Standards Committee, both of which say they cannot determine what

:05:16. > :05:21.actually happened between the two men. Against that background, were

:05:22. > :05:28.by the presidents of the parliament and a prominent German MEP who have

:05:29. > :05:33.both said within the parlialent cycle, that Mike Hookem hit Steven

:05:34. > :05:37.Woolfe. They have no evidence for that and indeed their own rdport

:05:38. > :05:41.says it is impossible to sax exactly what happened, so it is preposterous

:05:42. > :05:55.that they would make unsubstantiated allegations while the matter... The

:05:56. > :06:02.second issue is... You were nearby. Are you convinced? Are you convinced

:06:03. > :06:07.that Mr Woolfe had not been hit or punched by Mike Hookem? This is

:06:08. > :06:16.where the discrepancy is. M`ybe we will never know. I certainlx saw Mr

:06:17. > :06:20.Woolfe get up and challenge Mike Hookem to come outside. So ht is

:06:21. > :06:25.clear that Steven Woolfe was the instigator. I then saw Stevdn Woolfe

:06:26. > :06:30.ten to 20 seconds later, back in through the door by which she had

:06:31. > :06:33.left, he came in backwards, falling backwards, and he was seen to hit

:06:34. > :06:40.his head on a wooden ledge on a glass window. I assume that any

:06:41. > :06:43.subsequent injury to Mr Woolfe is a result of that blow on the head from

:06:44. > :06:48.his falling down. I can confirm that he did not appear to have bden

:06:49. > :06:53.struck, no visible bruising or blood on his face, note the missing, his

:06:54. > :06:57.tie was not askew, he resumdd his seat and continued to speak in a

:06:58. > :07:01.normal voice. I cannot tell you whether he was hit or not, but I can

:07:02. > :07:05.tell you that he did not look like he had been hit. I2-mac Mikd Hookem

:07:06. > :07:14.says with a report he has bden cleared. Can he survive this, do you

:07:15. > :07:20.think? He has been criticised for rising to

:07:21. > :07:25.the bait, and what he did when he was outside, we will not be certain

:07:26. > :07:29.of. But I think the report that I've just read a few moments ago is

:07:30. > :07:31.entirely fair, I think it w`s appropriate that might be

:07:32. > :07:37.reprimanded for the behaviotr, for which he has apologised. But I

:07:38. > :07:41.attach the greater blame to Steven Woolfe who clearly started the

:07:42. > :07:46.incident. Can one point? It is sometimes reported as though he

:07:47. > :07:50.struck head or he was struck and then he immediately collapsdd and

:07:51. > :07:53.went to hospital. In fact, there was about a two hour gap when as far as

:07:54. > :07:59.we can see he was behaving normally, walking around the parliament and he

:08:00. > :08:03.then left and subsequently collapsed. It is not true that he

:08:04. > :08:09.was sort of hit and fell down and taken to hospital. Very bridfly

:08:10. > :08:16.with a yes or no answer, can Mike Hookem survive this? Absolutely he

:08:17. > :08:19.can, he is a very valued melber of our delegation.

:08:20. > :08:22.This is one we'd be keen to hear your thoughts on.

:08:23. > :08:24.What do you think about this incident being referred to police

:08:25. > :08:30.How do you think it reflects on the party?

:08:31. > :08:33.Do you think it has damaged the party?

:08:34. > :08:54.The Grantham and Stamford MP, Nick Boles, has announced that

:08:55. > :08:57.doctors have found a cancerous tumour in his head.

:08:58. > :09:00.He's due to start treatment and has apologised for having to withdraw

:09:01. > :09:04.from a demonstration against reduced hours at Grantham A

:09:05. > :09:11.Prime Minister Theresa May wished Mr Boles well in the Commons.

:09:12. > :09:14.I just want to pay tribute to the member for Grantham

:09:15. > :09:19.and Stamford for the social media messages sent out this mornhng.

:09:20. > :09:22.It shows amazing humour and bravery and we wish him all the verx

:09:23. > :09:25.best and hope he fully recovers from this.

:09:26. > :09:28.Can I also join him in commdnding my honourable friend,

:09:29. > :09:33.the member for Grantham and Stamford, for being willing

:09:34. > :09:36.to be so open about the health problem that he has and we wish him

:09:37. > :09:46.It goes without saying that he also offer him the very best.

:09:47. > :09:49.A double-decker bus has caught fire at Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire.

:09:50. > :09:51.Crews from Lincolnshire and Norfolk Fire and Rescue both

:09:52. > :09:53.attended the incident which took place just after three

:09:54. > :09:57.This footage was taken by a passer-by.

:09:58. > :10:02.Plans to bring together all parts of Lincolnshire to apply for more

:10:03. > :10:05.powers from the Government will be voted on by councillors

:10:06. > :10:08.South Holland District Council is the last to decide

:10:09. > :10:10.whether to support the creation of a Greater Lincolnshire Atthority,

:10:11. > :10:11.which would involve an elected mayor.

:10:12. > :10:18.County Councillors rejected the proposals last week.

:10:19. > :10:20.Families of dementia patients in Lincolnshire say they're

:10:21. > :10:22.devastated by a decision to withdraw funding, which is used to provide

:10:23. > :10:27.activities and support groups for those suffering

:10:28. > :10:31.The NHS body which provides some of the money says

:10:32. > :10:34.it can't renew it's funding because of "a limited budget".

:10:35. > :10:37.But they've been accused of being "short sighted".

:10:38. > :10:40.Susan was diagnosed with dementia two years ago.

:10:41. > :10:43.Her husband, Neil, is her c`rer and together they regularly attend

:10:44. > :10:51.activity and support groups in Sleaford.

:10:52. > :10:54.But now two of those clubs could close.

:10:55. > :11:01.I wish they could keep going. A diagnosis of dementia can bd very

:11:02. > :11:07.isolating for both the person affected and for the carer. It is so

:11:08. > :11:12.useful to be able to go and meet other people and realise th`t there

:11:13. > :11:12.are an awful lot of people hn the same boat.

:11:13. > :11:15.Dementia is a growing issue with people over the age

:11:16. > :11:18.of 65, but it can be diagnosed at a younger age.

:11:19. > :11:20.In total, there are more than 675,000 people living

:11:21. > :11:27.That figure is expected to double in the next 30 years,

:11:28. > :11:32.with more than one million people diagnosed with dementia by 2046

:11:33. > :11:35.In Lincolnshire, more than 6,50 people over the age of 65

:11:36. > :11:45.But now eleven support groups across the county face clostre.

:11:46. > :11:48.They're run by the Alzheimer's Society in Lincolnshire and paid

:11:49. > :11:50.for by the Dementia Support Network, which receives funding

:11:51. > :11:54.from the local NHS and County Council.

:11:55. > :11:59.But the NHS has decided not to renew its funding.

:12:00. > :12:07.It means that we will not bd a will to run those groups after Ddcember.

:12:08. > :12:12.Because we do not have the funding any more. It means that what we re

:12:13. > :12:14.doing is working with the pdople in those groups to be able to `ccess

:12:15. > :12:15.other services in their comlunity. In a statement, the South Wdst

:12:16. > :12:17.Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group says: "We have a finite budget

:12:18. > :12:21.and it is not possible for ts to continue to fund all services

:12:22. > :12:33.for those who suffer with ddmentia. But the County Council has

:12:34. > :12:35.described this decision Back in Sleaford, Neil is now hoping

:12:36. > :12:40.alternative funding can be found The Hull East MP, Karl Turndr,

:12:41. > :12:52.has asked the Government to do more to make sure people with mental

:12:53. > :12:54.health problems don't have Mr Turner's nephew, Matty,

:12:55. > :12:58.took his own life after being told he faced a six-month

:12:59. > :13:12.wait for counselling, His GP had referred him for therapy

:13:13. > :13:19.counselling, but warned him he would be at least six months before he got

:13:20. > :13:25.an appointment. These treatlents on the NHS are very often a wahting

:13:26. > :13:29.game and a dangerous waiting game, and a postcode lottery.

:13:30. > :13:32.The Prime Minister Theresa Lay responded by saying that funding

:13:33. > :13:35.for services was increasing, but she accepts more needs to be

:13:36. > :13:37.done to reduce waiting times to ensure patients

:13:38. > :13:48.Still ahead tonight: Hull Chty end their losing streak to lake it

:13:49. > :13:50.through to the quarterfinals of the League Cup.

:13:51. > :13:53.The seaside theme park that's closing for the final time

:13:54. > :14:00.after thrilling visitors for almost 25 years.

:14:01. > :14:11.Sarah Tim sent this taken bx her nephew on his first flying lesson.

:14:12. > :14:23.A lovely picture. How are you? I'm indebted to someone who wrote to me

:14:24. > :14:38.with a cutting from the Yorkshire Post. Here it is.

:14:39. > :14:45.It is not just me that is s`ying it. That is Ursula, isn't it? Isn't that

:14:46. > :15:04.cold Probably. -- that is fine and settled weather.

:15:05. > :15:08.Variable cloud. Here's the charts for the last weekend of October The

:15:09. > :15:16.clocks go back on Saturday night. Looking very nice indeed. Could be a

:15:17. > :15:22.problem into Sunday morning for some autumnal fog. But it looks dry.

:15:23. > :15:28.Quite a month. 15 Celsius in the afternoon in Skegness, 59

:15:29. > :15:33.Fahrenheit, so it looks set to be another fine evening and a fine

:15:34. > :15:38.night. It may well be that the cloud filters down from the North West to

:15:39. > :15:42.a certain extent. Temperatures in countryside areas around seven

:15:43. > :15:47.Celsius, but in urban areas nine or 10 Celsius. The sun rises in the

:15:48. > :16:00.morning at 753. It looks set to be another fairly

:16:01. > :16:05.quite a. All parts dry, varhable cloud, but some sunny breaks. More

:16:06. > :16:08.wind around, especially in the afternoon, a freshening south-west

:16:09. > :16:16.wind. Although temperatures will be fairly similar to today but, it may

:16:17. > :16:26.not feel as mild. We should not complain too much. It may gdt up to

:16:27. > :16:30.15 Celsius in one or two spots. Friday, a cloudy day, but it stays

:16:31. > :16:35.predominantly dry and then the weekend, variable cloud, sole

:16:36. > :16:37.sunshine, some chance of sole fog am especially Saturday night into

:16:38. > :16:44.Sunday morning. That is the forecast.

:16:45. > :16:50.I may get into the Yorkshird Post if I am lucky.

:16:51. > :16:54.There is a section for performing seals, Peter.

:16:55. > :16:56.Shop owners in Grimsby say they're unhappy they'll

:16:57. > :16:59.face more disruption, after the decision was made to dig

:17:00. > :17:03.These blocks were laid as p`rt of a ?6 million refurbishment.

:17:04. > :17:06.But there's been numerous problems since, and now the council says one

:17:07. > :17:08.stretch has to be resurfaced, because it's buckling under

:17:09. > :17:11.Business leaders are now accusing them of making "one bad

:17:12. > :17:18.A ?6 million regeneration scheme for Grimsby.

:17:19. > :17:23.Now two years on much of it will be dug up and relayed with tarlac.

:17:24. > :17:26.The paving hasn't been a success, cracked by buses,

:17:27. > :17:32.They say the so-called shardd space, mixing road with pavement,

:17:33. > :17:37.They should have kept tarmac from the beginning.

:17:38. > :17:43.It is coming up and they ard having to keep repairing it.

:17:44. > :17:54.It is just that people tend to trip up over it.

:17:55. > :17:57.People can't see what is thd road and what is the curb,

:17:58. > :17:59.and I don't think it's very good at all.

:18:00. > :18:03.It is more money being spent on irrelevant things.

:18:04. > :18:09.The Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce says this is ond bad

:18:10. > :18:17.Now they have to take it up and start again.

:18:18. > :18:21.It was fine as it was in the first place.

:18:22. > :18:24.It seems that when council budgets are being squeezed,

:18:25. > :18:36.Work to relay the surface whll begin on Friday with the aim

:18:37. > :18:39.from the council to have it all completed in this

:18:40. > :18:42.It will mean disruption or relocation for bus services

:18:43. > :18:44.and for other parts of the town road closures overnight,

:18:45. > :18:48.For cafe owner Jane Hunter ht is yet more unwelcome disruption,

:18:49. > :18:50.just two years after the paving was first laid.

:18:51. > :18:53.All the businesses in the area were given a rate rebate.

:18:54. > :19:00.You accept the town is developing and it has helped

:19:01. > :19:06.But now, you know, a short time on, they are ripping it up.

:19:07. > :19:13.I know they say it will not be a big disruption,

:19:14. > :19:18.It does not seem to be monex well spent if you ask me.

:19:19. > :19:21.But this time, of course, those using Grimsby's town centre

:19:22. > :19:24.hope that what is finally l`id on its streets will be

:19:25. > :19:31.It's the council who are pulling these blocks up, Crispin,

:19:32. > :19:37.so what have they had to say about it?

:19:38. > :19:43.So far, not a lot. We tried to contact them over the last couple of

:19:44. > :19:49.days. Thus far, they have ddclined any request to get somebody to talk

:19:50. > :19:52.to us. So they have issued ` statement saying we had been aware

:19:53. > :19:56.for some time now been problems with the blocks in this area of the town

:19:57. > :19:59.centre. We have been monitoring the situation closely and after much

:20:00. > :20:05.consideration, the decision has been made to replace them with t`rmac,

:20:06. > :20:09.but that's no cost to the t`xpayer. It is that phrase, no cost, which is

:20:10. > :20:12.the interesting one, becausd most people would imagine you wotld

:20:13. > :20:21.expect that if you are relaxing any of this, it would, some costs. The

:20:22. > :20:25.question for the council is twofold, how exactly is this being p`id for

:20:26. > :20:27.if it is being changed to t`rmac? And how did they get this project so

:20:28. > :20:38.wrong in the eyes of so manx? If anyone is watching from the

:20:39. > :20:39.council, and you would like to come on tomorrow, we would love to talk

:20:40. > :20:40.to you. What do you think

:20:41. > :20:44.about the decision? Have you been affected

:20:45. > :20:49.by all the problems? Hull City broke their recent run

:20:50. > :20:53.of bad form last night, beating Bristol City to reach

:20:54. > :20:59.the quarterfinals of the Le`gue Cup. It was the Tigers' first win

:21:00. > :21:02.in more than a month, and boss Mike Phelan says hd hopes

:21:03. > :21:05.it'll lift them out Big night in Bristol for thd home

:21:06. > :21:10.side a chance to knock out Hull City pipped Bristol City

:21:11. > :21:21.to the Premier League in 2008. In general play, the Tigers

:21:22. > :21:23.were a class apart. Harry Maguire celebrating a first

:21:24. > :21:29.goal as a Hull City player. Same format, different playdr,

:21:30. > :21:31.as Michael Dawson headed This is Hull City and the home side

:21:32. > :21:41.got a glimmer of hope near the end. The Yorkshire team held

:21:42. > :21:43.on for a much-needed win I am pleased for them, becatse they

:21:44. > :21:56.know how tough it will be. At the start of the season, 13 men,

:21:57. > :22:01.now a few added more, lost a few, so it is a case

:22:02. > :22:04.of we need everybody, we cannot be individuals,

:22:05. > :22:06.we have to be the collectivd. When they do that, we can bd

:22:07. > :22:09.difficult for teams. I think it shows a club in such good

:22:10. > :22:12.light moving forward. How many young players playdd
