:01:58. > :01:59.Network Rail told us it tried to consult a Lincoln disabilities
:02:00. > :02:04.group about the bridge - but didn't hear back.
:02:05. > :02:10.I don't know when they would've done that because I have been retired for
:02:11. > :02:16.nearly years now and when I left the organisation closed because of lack
:02:17. > :02:21.of funding. That was a good five years ago. It is appalling that in
:02:22. > :02:25.this day and age they can actually put plants and to build something
:02:26. > :02:29.without any disabled access. The thing is they have discriminated
:02:30. > :02:31.against disabled people, whether it is intentional or unintentional. It
:02:32. > :02:32.is still discrimination. Network Rail points out it's not
:02:33. > :02:51.going to close the crossing, so everyone could still use it
:02:52. > :02:53.when the barriers are up. And says the reason for the lift
:02:54. > :02:57.being taken out is lack of funding. But campaigners want a bridge that's
:02:58. > :03:00.accessible to all, all the time. Katy, has Network Rail responded
:03:01. > :03:03.to the concerns we've heard today? Well Network Rail sent us
:03:04. > :03:06.a statement saying: It's committed to following the planning process
:03:07. > :03:08.and encourages anyone with comments to feed these back
:03:09. > :03:10.to the planning authority." By the planning authority it means
:03:11. > :03:12.Lincoln City Council, which in due course will have
:03:13. > :03:15.to make a decision about whether the footbridge
:03:16. > :03:17.will get the green light. In my report you heard
:03:18. > :03:19.from a disability group which Network Rail said it had asked
:03:20. > :03:25.for an opinion. The rail authority has not got back
