:01:33. > :01:35.A couple of months ago, Mike realised his dream.
:01:36. > :01:39.he set up a micro-brewery on a farm in Fiskerton.
:01:40. > :01:44.One of the reasons for applying for the funding was that we saw
:01:45. > :01:49.an opportunity to build a bigger project that would allow us
:01:50. > :01:54.to employ people within the local area and ensure that we grew
:01:55. > :01:59.The grant came from what's called a leader scheme,
:02:00. > :02:02.money from the European Union specifically designed to help
:02:03. > :02:09.Around ?6 million of leader funding is available across Lincolnshire.
:02:10. > :02:13.People can apply for grants, typically around ?25,000,
:02:14. > :02:16.for projects which will boost the rural economy, anything
:02:17. > :02:20.from tourism, to local produce, to heritage.
:02:21. > :02:26.The brewery may do so again if it wants to expand but the current
:02:27. > :02:33.The Brexit vote has created some uncertainty over what happens next.
:02:34. > :02:38.I don't know what arrangements will be made in the future for EU
:02:39. > :02:42.funding but obviously funding like this does help businesses.
:02:43. > :02:45.It certainly helped our business and we are spending that money wisely.
:02:46. > :02:50.Without it we wouldn't be employing the people we intend to employ.
:02:51. > :02:55.Who gets the EU money is decided at local level by local action
:02:56. > :02:58.groups and they are also unsure about the future.
:02:59. > :03:01.Obviously, things are going to change when Brexit happens
:03:02. > :03:04.but we are optimistic the government is working
:03:05. > :03:09.There will be domestic funds, we hope,
:03:10. > :03:12.and we hope to be part of those so it's wait and see.
:03:13. > :03:15.But their main message is encouraging people to apply
:03:16. > :03:18.for the leader funding now while it's definitely there.
:03:19. > :03:22.If anyone out there has got an idea, they want to know more,
:03:23. > :03:29.We asked the government if it can guarantee it will replace EU
:03:30. > :03:32.business grants for rural areas following Brexit.
:03:33. > :03:37.It told us projects will be honoured in future if they are good value
:03:38. > :03:40.for money and in line with government priorities.
:03:41. > :03:43.Mike's beers are already being sold in Lincoln pubs.
:03:44. > :03:47.He's hoping the grant scheme that has helped him and other businesses
:03:48. > :03:55.A man who's spent 25 years trying to save a crumbling medieval tower
:03:56. > :03:59.near Hull has been awarded more than ?100,000.

:04:04. > :04:07.from Historic England to protect Paull Holme Tower, which is almost
:04:08. > :04:14.This money that we've received is really significant.
:04:15. > :04:17.It allows us to finally start repairing the brickwork and put
:04:18. > :04:22.We are going to put a roof on it, the building inside will be dry
:04:23. > :04:25.and hopefully when the open day comes along in September,
:04:26. > :04:29.all the public can come along and see this magnificent building.
:04:30. > :04:31.More than 4,000 Lincoln City fans will watch their team play

:05:23. > :05:27.But the women who are part of this club at Haltemprice Leisure Centre

:05:30. > :05:31.The camaraderie is absolutely brilliant.
:05:32. > :05:35.It's got me back into doing things really.
:05:36. > :05:38.Going into a gym is quite intimidating sometimes
:05:39. > :05:41.but we get new ladies here and they just
:05:42. > :05:45.It's been a lifeline for people like Pat.
:05:46. > :05:58.It's something to come out for and you make new friends.
:05:59. > :06:01.Walking netball was actually started in East Yorkshire.
:06:02. > :06:05.Since then it has been adopted by clubs across the country
:06:06. > :06:08.and moreover it is proving so popular that even more
:06:09. > :06:11.sessions are going to be held in East Yorkshire
:06:12. > :06:16.There are already clubs like in Goole, Withernsea,
:06:17. > :06:19.Beverley and there's one in Boston, but come next year the hope
:06:20. > :06:23.is that there'll also be sessions in Stamford,
:06:24. > :06:26.Hull, Driffield, Cleethorpes and Grimsby.
:06:27. > :06:28.Hopefully it is going to get up there with walking football.
:06:29. > :06:30.We've only had women in our sessions so far.
:06:31. > :06:34.Whether in the future we get any men, who knows,
:06:35. > :06:38.but at the moment it's a lot of women.
:06:39. > :06:46.The success of sports like this shows that just because you get
:06:47. > :06:51.older doesn't mean you have to give up the things you love.
