:01:46. > :01:51.Good evening. Flooding has tonight hit parts of East Yorkshire as homes

:01:52. > :01:59.have been evacuated. Elsewhere, people are again preparing for

:02:00. > :02:03.flooding with warnings in force all along the east coast. The same

:02:04. > :02:06.damage as three years ago is not expected. Today, high tide at with

:02:07. > :02:09.minimal problems. Tonight we will hear

:02:10. > :02:12.from our correspondents on the banks of the Humber in South Ferriby

:02:13. > :02:14.and on the Lincolnshire There are 34 flood warnings in place

:02:15. > :02:18.with the biggest concern in the south of our area,

:02:19. > :02:21.including in Boston and around They are also in place further up

:02:22. > :02:26.the coast in around Mablethorpe. Around the Humber warnings

:02:32. > :02:36.are in place for Goole, Broomfleet, Earlier, high tide passed

:02:37. > :02:56.Bridlington and Hornsea Where three people have been rescued

:02:57. > :03:00.from a car on the seafront and some homes have been evacuated. These

:03:01. > :03:04.pictures show what it has been a light tonight. -- it has been a

:03:05. > :03:06.life. Paul, people are bracing themselves

:03:07. > :03:16.for the second time in twelve hours, Well, three people were rescued from

:03:17. > :03:21.a citron caso. Fortunately, one of our crew members was nearby and got

:03:22. > :03:26.the car against a wall and got the family out. The family are safe but

:03:27. > :03:34.I don't know about the car. -- Citroen Picasso. How much flooding

:03:35. > :03:40.has there been there in Hornsea? Well, it has been bad enough that

:03:41. > :03:43.people have been evacuated. One gentleman with diabetes was

:03:44. > :03:49.evacuated and they are still evacuating. Thank you very much. The

:03:50. > :03:53.very latest in there from Hornsea. Let's go live to our environment

:03:54. > :04:00.correspondent Paul Murphy who is live in Skegness. What is the

:04:01. > :04:05.situation there? Ahead of high side? Listening to what Glenn in Hornsea

:04:06. > :04:10.were saying there, a very different experience. We are 20 minutes away

:04:11. > :04:14.from high side. If the camera zooms in, you can see the ID believes that

:04:15. > :04:30.the water is just starting to shall, lack on usual. -- is starting to lap

:04:31. > :04:36.onshore. Unlike December 13, there is confidence tonight that the

:04:37. > :04:42.barriers will do their job. -- 2013. Our experiences, though. -- other.

:04:43. > :04:45.Bringing down Hull's tidal barrier - to protect thousands of homes again.

:04:46. > :04:47.This morning's high tide passed without problem.

:04:48. > :04:51.But the next 30 minutes are crucial with another high tide imminent.

:04:52. > :04:55.Tonight, those living close to the water's edge on the Hessle

:04:56. > :05:12.I'm just hoping it holds until we get home and can get everything

:05:13. > :05:16.upstairs. We did so this morning but we still have staff to whose

:05:17. > :05:17.upstairs. We will just sit it out and see what happens.

:05:18. > :05:20.It will be a tense evening for some residents -

:05:21. > :05:23.who were flooded just three years ago in the last tidal surge.

:05:24. > :05:33.We didn't get much sleep last night. Went to bed late obviously.

:05:34. > :05:35.Finishing off. Up at 4am as well and we just have to wait and see now.

:05:36. > :05:37.In Skegness, more than 100 army officers have been

:05:38. > :05:41.working through the night to advise and reassure.

:05:42. > :05:44.The offer of evacuation to an inland rest centre last night was taken up

:05:45. > :05:57.The effort has shifted now from warning and involving people of the

:05:58. > :06:02.potential for the high tide at you now being reactive underneath the

:06:03. > :06:05.Fire Service, supporting them, to evacuate personnel should be

:06:06. > :06:07.situation deteriorate to the point that more hands are needed.

:06:08. > :06:09.The East Coast surge is being monitored and assessed

:06:10. > :06:13.from a dedicated command centre in Lincoln.

:06:14. > :06:19.This is an incredibly serious situation. That's why we've got the

:06:20. > :06:22.army, air support, the fire and police service working together but

:06:23. > :06:27.it's also bad saying to people that the support is there to be

:06:28. > :06:30.proportionate and we need to make sure people take these risks

:06:31. > :06:34.seriously. If you look around, people are not panicking, they

:06:35. > :06:35.understand the risks and that is the right response.

:06:36. > :06:37.Tonight, the tide is higher than this mornings and will have

:06:38. > :06:39.been energised by a day of strong wind.

:06:40. > :06:42.But its precise potency will not be fully known unti

:06:43. > :06:54.So, even though there doesn't appear to be that big of a threat to homes

:06:55. > :06:59.or businesses in Skegness, Peter, tonight, there has been a warning

:07:00. > :07:03.from Lincolnshire Police to people turning up to watch the waves along

:07:04. > :07:09.this cows that they are still very strong, very dangerous. -- coast. We

:07:10. > :07:17.saw a very gradually site of a man setting the tidal wave on Skegness.

:07:18. > :07:21.He was there for about 40 minutes. There is a warning from the

:07:22. > :07:25.authorities. The Army are coming down later, we believe, to God and

:07:26. > :07:29.of certain areas of the beach because there is concern that far

:07:30. > :07:35.too many people, as you can see here, are turning up to watch the

:07:36. > :07:42.tidal wave. -- cordon. Paul with good words there for those who want

:07:43. > :07:49.to get and sightsee. Let's go to our correspondence in cell therapy at

:07:50. > :07:55.the moment. -- South Ferriby. How is looking there? It looks a bit

:07:56. > :07:58.generic. If you would down the road, the Environment Agency are down

:07:59. > :08:05.there stopping people from travelling through South Ferriby

:08:06. > :08:09.village for their safety. -- look. There are barriers right along this

:08:10. > :08:13.road to stop any potential water from coming over the cause is just

:08:14. > :08:16.your these barriers, that hedge, that is manly flood plain is. The

:08:17. > :08:22.reason they are placed there is because this is where people live.

:08:23. > :08:28.There are 1400 properties which flooded three years ago and, as the

:08:29. > :08:34.water levels are rising, sell our people's anxiety because they were

:08:35. > :08:38.flooded very recently. Just down the road, there is a pub which acquired

:08:39. > :08:42.its rise as well. They said they had sandbags around them and now those

:08:43. > :08:47.have disappeared under the water a day is rising. What is blatantly

:08:48. > :08:53.clear is, as Paul says, people are ignoring warnings to with their

:08:54. > :08:57.cameras. The Environment Agency say it is very dangerous and you please

:08:58. > :09:05.is away. Thank you. High does vary a bit. Between six 40 7pm and 6:49pm.

:09:06. > :09:07.-- high tide. A little earlier, I spoke

:09:08. > :09:09.to Emma Howard Boyd, the chair of the Environment Agency,

:09:10. > :09:12.and asked her how concerned I think it's key that people take

:09:13. > :09:16.precautionary measures as we are indicating in the warning

:09:17. > :09:19.and informing that we've been What do you actually expect

:09:20. > :09:28.in our part of the world Well, we have to wait and see

:09:29. > :09:34.but what we are doing in Hull today is putting down the barrier

:09:35. > :09:36.because we want to make sure that the community

:09:37. > :09:45.in Hull is protected. We have something like 17,000

:09:46. > :09:48.properties behind the Hull barrier that will be protected

:09:49. > :09:50.through lowering the The Environment Agency appears much

:09:51. > :09:54.more visible in many What lessons have you learned

:09:55. > :10:01.from three years ago? It's really key that we are out

:10:02. > :10:04.warning and informing the communities that we are

:10:05. > :10:06.active in today. We have had this east coast tidal

:10:07. > :10:09.surge coming down the country, We want to make sure that people

:10:10. > :10:17.remain safe and protected. We've got lots of defences in place,

:10:18. > :10:20.but they are also out there with barriers,

:10:21. > :10:22.we've put our barriers, we are making sure that we also have

:10:23. > :10:25.pumps available to remove water, But it's important that people

:10:26. > :10:50.respond to the sort of messages The chair of the Environment Agency.

:10:51. > :10:54.We just want to say BBC radio Humberside will be on air until 7pm

:10:55. > :11:00.while BBC radio Lincolnshire will have coverage until later. Those

:11:02. > :11:08.screen. -- frequencies. You might want to be in touch

:11:09. > :11:11.with us about this story, how do you think the emergency

:11:12. > :11:13.services and the Environment Agency have dealt with

:11:14. > :11:16.the bad weather so far? If you live in a flood risk

:11:17. > :11:21.area we would like to How effective do you think the

:11:22. > :11:28.Environment Agency or emergency services have been? Let is no. The

:11:29. > :11:32.details are on the screen. Your views... We will have some before we

:11:33. > :11:37.finish at seven o'clock. -- let us know.

:11:38. > :11:40.It's been confirmed that the Hull-based building firm,

:11:41. > :11:44.Hall Construction Group has entered into administration.

:11:50. > :12:01.They'll be remembered for building one of Hull's most iconic sights -

:12:02. > :12:06.But tonight, after 130 years, the Hall Construction Group
