:00:28. > :00:46.In a surprise move, Grimsby Town sack manager Marcus Bignot.

:00:47. > :00:48.I'm at Grimsby Town's stadium as they sack manager Marcus Bignot

:00:49. > :00:54.It's believed he may have lost the confidence of its players in the

:00:55. > :01:13.And what does this we can't instore for that detailed forecast. --

:01:14. > :01:19.weekend forecast. than four years but finally Hull has

:01:20. > :01:26.a birthing unit led by midwives The Fatima Allam Birthing Centre

:01:27. > :01:32.cost almost ?500,000, most of which was paid

:01:33. > :01:35.for by the wife of Hull City But although the Hospital Trust had

:01:36. > :01:39.promised to provide the unit, Look North has been told it

:01:40. > :01:43.might not have happened Kate Sweeting's report contains

:01:44. > :01:51.some flash photography. It might look like a hotel,

:01:52. > :01:54.but this is Hull's long awaited midwife led birthing centre,

:01:55. > :01:56.a place where women can have their babies safely with little

:01:57. > :01:59.or no medical intervention. It replaces the Jubilee Birth centre

:02:00. > :02:14.in Cottingham which closed in 2011 The hotel might feel will provide a

:02:15. > :02:29.relaxed environment for the women. The centre is named after

:02:30. > :02:32.Fatima Allam, whife of Hull City owner, Dr Assem Allam,

:02:33. > :02:34.who funded most of the ?470,000 For some mums the unit

:02:35. > :02:54.opened just too late, Again it was delayed it was another

:02:55. > :02:57.three years before it actually open. The other macro hospital trust had

:02:58. > :03:02.to prioritise their investments and there are so many pressures. It's

:03:03. > :03:06.not saying that this is important -- isn't important but against other

:03:07. > :03:10.things it had to be prioritised. We are very fortunate for the support

:03:11. > :03:15.from the family that has enabled us to do this. I don't think it would

:03:16. > :03:20.have happened as quickly as it has done. The midwife yet led unit was

:03:21. > :03:24.promised almost six years ago and it only because private funding that

:03:25. > :03:28.this has been able to be built now. I'm told that the doors opened at

:03:29. > :03:34.eight o'clock this morning, with the first baby is expected to be born

:03:35. > :03:38.here in the next few hours. For some months, the unit open to late but

:03:39. > :03:43.all of those I spoke to said that they would love to use it. I would

:03:44. > :03:47.love to have a homebirth but I'm desperate to use the facilities but

:03:48. > :03:54.she was born a bit too early for that. You wouldn't do your everyday

:03:55. > :03:59.things in front of doctors and midwives. They're doing a great job,

:04:00. > :04:06.they are therefore you obviously, but you need your own time and your

:04:07. > :04:12.own privacy and it's just about mums and babies, right? The unit is only

:04:13. > :04:18.ever the union is only available to women at low risk of convocations.

:04:19. > :04:22.It's hoped the -- convocations. It's hoped it would give women more

:04:23. > :04:30.choice about how and where they have their babies. Work how common is it

:04:31. > :04:32.her babies to use NHS funding services.

:04:33. > :04:36.This is quite common, places like Great Ormond Street Hospital

:04:37. > :04:39.Hospital receive a lot of funding through private donations,

:04:40. > :04:41.and there are more than 100 charities designed to raise money

:04:42. > :04:45.Someone has sent me a tweet today about how the new birth centre

:04:46. > :04:48.in Hull will be funded and staffed from now on.

:04:49. > :04:51.I put that to the trust and it said, "Ongoing running of the centre,

:04:52. > :04:53.including staffing costs, will be paid for as

:04:54. > :04:57.Midwife staffing levels currently fall within the parameters set

:04:58. > :05:01.The creation of the midwife-led birth centre has not increased

:05:02. > :05:04.the number of beds within the labour and delivery suite, and as such,

:05:05. > :05:07.staffing levels and staffing costs will remain the same."

:05:08. > :05:10.Investigations have begun after two bodies were discovered at a house

:05:11. > :05:18.They were found at a house in the village of Lutton,

:05:19. > :05:21.Our reporterr Amanda White is there for us now.

:05:22. > :05:29.What are the police saying at this stage?

:05:30. > :05:35.well Lincolnshire Police are have told us that the bodies of two

:05:36. > :05:39.people have been found at this property behind me. I'm in the

:05:40. > :05:45.village of Lutton which is just a short step away from Long Sutton.

:05:46. > :05:49.Officers investigating this discovery are linking it to the case

:05:50. > :05:56.of the missing woman Berenice Williams. She has not been seen

:05:57. > :06:01.since March the 25th and there is a very active part of this community,

:06:02. > :06:07.a churchwarden and schoolteacher. Indeed on social media some of her

:06:08. > :06:12.former teachers expressed their dismay and wished for a safe return

:06:13. > :06:16.for her. Someone has confirmed to me that this is Berenice Williams home

:06:17. > :06:19.but police cannot confirm the identity of either of the bodies

:06:20. > :06:24.that had been discovered here today. They cannot say whether or not the

:06:25. > :06:30.only cosmetic body has been discovered here today. They are

:06:31. > :06:31.continuing to do is investigate the disappearance and the discovery of

:06:32. > :06:33.these two bodies in Lutton. A man has been found

:06:34. > :06:35.guilty of the murder Marine Erte's body was discovered

:06:36. > :06:43.at a house in the town last May. Today Gytis Griskevicus

:06:44. > :06:57.was jailed for a minimum of 23 The father of Ryan Smith, who

:06:58. > :07:01.suffered head injuries in a bike class will receive his British

:07:02. > :07:04.Empire medal this evening after championing the importance of

:07:05. > :07:10.motorcycle helmets. Doctor Ryan suffered a brain injury after

:07:11. > :07:13.colliding with a van in 2013. His father Mark has campaigned for a law

:07:14. > :07:17.to force cyclists to wear helmets simply press. -- since the crash.

:07:18. > :07:20.Police officers from East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire have joined

:07:21. > :07:22.colleagues from around the country in tributes to Keith Palmer,

:07:23. > :07:25.the officer killed during the terror attack at Westminster last month.

:07:26. > :07:27.Some have travelled to London to attend his funeral while others

:07:28. > :07:29.joined a two minutes' silence at local police stations.

:07:30. > :07:36.They came from all over to remember him.

:07:37. > :07:39.An officer from London - but a colleague to police

:07:40. > :07:49.Eight officers travelled from Lincolnshire in a minibus

:07:50. > :07:52.to pay their respects.12 officers went from Humberside Police -

:07:53. > :07:56.back at headquarters the flag was flying at half mast.

:07:57. > :07:58.And across the area police paid tribute on social media.

:07:59. > :08:14.followed by a two minutes silence. at Lincolnshire police headquarters,

:08:15. > :08:18.A chance for officers to reflect on the sacrifice that PC

:08:19. > :08:30.I think when something as tragic as what happened at Westminster

:08:31. > :08:33.happened people reflect on that and that's absolutely right. Would it

:08:34. > :08:37.mean for me? Where does it mean for my family? When we join the service

:08:38. > :08:42.we swearing oaths, make and affirmation and part of that is that

:08:43. > :08:45.we give of ourselves to protect the public from harm. Sometimes that

:08:46. > :08:50.calls upon us to make the ultimate sacrifice and I hope everyone of us

:08:51. > :08:52.is as brave as Keith was when that circumstance arises.

:08:53. > :08:56.A fitting tribute for a fallen colleague.

:08:57. > :08:58.Car parking charges in some Lincolnshire market towns could be

:08:59. > :09:02.East Lindsey District Council says people are staying too long

:09:03. > :09:04.and blocking up car parks by parking all day.

:09:05. > :09:07.It wants to reintroduce charges for staying more than a few

:09:08. > :09:10.If approved, it would be the third change to parking charges

:09:11. > :09:20.It wants to reintroduce charges for staying more than a few

:09:21. > :09:24.If approved, it would be the third change to parking charges

:09:25. > :09:28.Visitors to Coningsby can leave their cars here all day

:09:29. > :09:30.for free while they pop to the shops.

:09:31. > :09:33.But the council says too many are taking advantage of that.

:09:34. > :09:35.People visiting the towns, or working in the towns park

:09:36. > :09:39.You then don't get the turnover of customers for the shops.

:09:40. > :09:42.We really want to use car parking as a mechanism to help drive

:09:43. > :09:45.the economy in the town, for it not to be a hinderance.

:09:46. > :09:48.Parking charges for East Lindsey's market towns were introduced

:09:49. > :09:52.in 2013, but traders say it put off shoppers and they were scrapped

:09:53. > :10:01.Now the council is considering a range of changes to parking,

:10:02. > :10:04.including bringing in charges after one or two hours at free

:10:05. > :10:28.car parks in Alford, Burgh-le-Marsh, Sandilands,

:10:29. > :10:31.But businesses in Coningsby say the free parking has brought in more

:10:32. > :10:33.customers and they're concerned about the change.

:10:34. > :10:36.Well, we have found it really beneficial because of the footfall

:10:37. > :10:39.The two hours, yeah, it's not bad, but I think the charge

:10:40. > :10:43.does tend to put people off if they are going to perhaps meet

:10:44. > :10:44.friends or spend more time in the village.

:10:45. > :10:47.And there's a mixed reaction from those that use the car parks.

:10:48. > :10:52.It's not that long ago that they were giving us two free

:10:53. > :10:54.hours and charging for the rest of the time.

:10:55. > :11:00.Two hours, yes, I can do quite a lot in two hours but it would be nice

:11:01. > :11:02.if we could have just a little bit more.

:11:03. > :11:06.could be in place by the end of May, but the council says

:11:07. > :11:11.could be in place by the end of May, but the council says

:11:12. > :11:13.they would review them again in a year's time to see

:11:14. > :11:20.Earlier, I spoke to James Gilbert from East Lindsey District Council

:11:21. > :11:22.and I asked him if , with hindsight, it had been

:11:23. > :11:27.a mistake to have free car parking in some of their towns

:11:28. > :11:30.As part of the arrangements that we are proposing to introduce,

:11:31. > :11:33.that includes an element of free parking, in fact it includes more

:11:34. > :11:35.free parking than the district has ever had before.

:11:36. > :11:38.This is the third change in five years.

:11:39. > :11:41.People don't know whether there is free parking or there isn't.

:11:42. > :11:59.Have people been abusing free parking in a place like Coningsby?

:12:00. > :12:02.We have had feedback from some town and parish

:12:03. > :12:04.councils and some areas, like Coningsby, where people have

:12:05. > :12:07.been parking in the car parks all day, they're using them

:12:08. > :12:10.as office car parks or as commuter car parks where they've

:12:11. > :12:13.I think the reality is, we provide car parks

:12:14. > :12:14.for the economic benefit of the towns.

:12:15. > :12:17.If people are parked in them all day, they can't be

:12:18. > :12:20.I don't understand this, because a place like Spilsby,

:12:21. > :12:23.there are a lot of vacant shops, empty shops, yet you are now

:12:24. > :12:26.going to start charging after one hour's free parking.

:12:27. > :12:28.That's going to make it harder for traders and businesses to exist

:12:29. > :12:38.There was a charging regime in Spilsby anyway.

:12:39. > :12:41.As part of the changes we are going to be introducing

:12:42. > :12:43.an hour's free car parking, if the changes are approved,

:12:44. > :12:46.and the car parks in the town centre, so actually there is more

:12:47. > :12:51.What about people who are not abusing the policy and traders?

:12:52. > :12:53.They are going to be hit hard by this.

:12:54. > :13:06.The reality is, the car park behind me, if the changes are proved,

:13:07. > :13:13.So I think it's a win-win if the changes are approved

:13:14. > :13:17.Briefly, you say you want to charge on an individual town basis.

:13:18. > :13:20.Why didn't you think about this this time last year?

:13:21. > :13:22.It's not just about charging, this policy, Peter, it's

:13:23. > :13:25.about reviewing all car parking provision in the towns.

:13:26. > :13:27.It's about looking at car parks as a whole, it's

:13:28. > :13:29.about free car parking, it's about when people

:13:30. > :13:32.want to visit the towns, the economies of the towns.

:13:33. > :13:34.We're drawing some evidence-based conclusions, which is what we've

:13:35. > :13:38.And it's the most comprehensive review we have ever undertaken

:13:39. > :13:42.Well, we will see what people think who are watching tonight.

:13:43. > :13:44.Mr Gilbert, thank you very much indeed.

:13:45. > :14:00.Well by the way it's not just in the East Lindsey area, car parking

:14:01. > :14:06.changes, some people have been abusing it, is its ability charge

:14:07. > :14:10.for some of them. Boston Road in Spilsbury for example is going from

:14:11. > :14:18.one hour for free to our flower and in charging. Maybe you would like to

:14:19. > :14:29.admit to parking in the car park free all day. Contact me on these

:14:30. > :14:33.details here on screen. We'll have some of those before we finish at

:14:34. > :14:41.seven o'clock. I look forward to hearing from you, as always. 17

:14:42. > :14:45.minutes to seven. Still ahead on the programme just months after being

:14:46. > :14:55.unveiled as Grimsby town 's manager Mark is paid not is sacked. And

:14:56. > :15:08.thousands turn out to watch the first tour of the world's race. --

:15:09. > :15:15.Walters. This is the sunset near Scunthorpe. Thank you Robert for

:15:16. > :15:23.that. I shouldn't really Tavis, but the weatherman is in the front

:15:24. > :15:24.tonight. Because he didn't -- in a grant-in-aid because he didn't get

:15:25. > :15:48.tickets for the Radio 1 weekend. Let's look at the headline for the

:15:49. > :15:52.next 24 hours. It is not looking too bad. Yesterday Hull was hotter than

:15:53. > :15:59.Benidorm but temperatures have collapsed by about 10 degrees. We

:16:00. > :16:01.will have fresh air all week but gardeners are starting to panic

:16:02. > :16:09.because there has not been a lot over Iran. It looks like there will

:16:10. > :16:16.be little if any tomorrow. I'm Thursday this week killing weather

:16:17. > :16:22.front may bring a patch of cloud. For the weekend a mixture of sunny

:16:23. > :16:26.spells and scattered showers. There is the satellite sequins, the clouds

:16:27. > :16:30.became quite promising for a time but we haven't had any showers

:16:31. > :16:36.showing up on the radar picture. These clouds will melt away,

:16:37. > :16:46.increasing amounts of sunshine. Forget the showers, the computer is

:16:47. > :16:53.wrong. The sun rises at ten past six. Your next high water time in

:16:54. > :17:01.Bridlington 5:37am. Tomorrow is fairly straightforward, variable

:17:02. > :17:06.amounts of cloud, some sunshine and all parts look set to be dry. The

:17:07. > :17:11.wind picking up, whistling through the Humber, Grimsby, Hull, you will

:17:12. > :17:17.notice that breeze, but if anything temperatures just a bit above

:17:18. > :17:22.average for this time of year. Highs across East Yorkshire 12 or 13

:17:23. > :17:28.Celsius. Might just nudge up to 14. Yesterday, Hull each, 25 degrees,

:17:29. > :17:38.can you believe that for early April?

:17:39. > :17:43.If it is so straightforward tomorrow, do we need a weather

:17:44. > :17:50.forecaster at all? I suppose we don't need a news

:17:51. > :17:51.presenter either! You need somebody to help you with your music

:17:52. > :17:59.questions. Grimsby Town have announced this

:18:00. > :18:06.afternoon that they've sacked their manager,

:18:07. > :18:08.Marcus Bignot. He arrived at the club in November

:18:09. > :18:11.and has guided the Mariners to a mid-table position, but this

:18:12. > :18:13.afternoon the board have relieved Our reporter Phillip Norton

:18:14. > :18:16.is at the club's ground, Do we know why they've

:18:17. > :18:27.sacked their manager? This has come as a huge shock to

:18:28. > :18:30.fans and staff. The club saying that the first-team's management had been

:18:31. > :18:36.released from their duties with immediate effect. After the

:18:37. > :18:40.promotion back to the football league last season, they said there

:18:41. > :18:46.were aimed a strong ambition to build on that. A clue that the board

:18:47. > :18:51.haven't been entirely happy with the results and the Marcus Bignot's

:18:52. > :18:55.tenure. When he joined he was described as a hungry and ambitious

:18:56. > :18:59.young manager who was head and shoulders above the rest by the

:19:00. > :19:07.chairman. He brought in players with the hope of getting the team to gel

:19:08. > :19:12.and hit the ground running next season, but inconsistency has been

:19:13. > :19:18.the problem. Nine winds, seven draws and 11 defeats from 27 games in

:19:19. > :19:23.charge. Some of the defeats have been heavy but on Sunday the

:19:24. > :19:30.Mariners beat Blackpool 3-1, a result which has led to raised

:19:31. > :19:37.eyebrows about the timing of this. Why has this been raised now?

:19:38. > :19:42.There are few theories but the BBC understands that they may have been

:19:43. > :19:45.struggling to get some of the players to sign new contracts. We

:19:46. > :19:50.understand that some players want to leave the club and as some unrest in

:19:51. > :19:55.the dressing room. There is also the possibility that season-ticket sales

:19:56. > :20:00.comes into it. Around now is when they need to get the fans buying

:20:01. > :20:05.season tickets for next season. There is so are possible this

:20:06. > :20:09.agreement between the board and Marcus Bignot regarding the future

:20:10. > :20:14.direction of the club. The club said they will not the announcing

:20:15. > :20:22.anything over the next few days or deciding anything about who will

:20:23. > :20:25.lead the club, but Russell Slade's name has been bandied about as a

:20:26. > :20:32.possible return need to Blundell Park.

:20:33. > :20:35.Hull City have been warned that they can't rely on their rivals

:20:36. > :20:37.dropping points if they want to stay in the Premier League.

:20:38. > :20:39.The Tigers lost 3-1 at Manchester City

:20:40. > :20:41.on Saturday to continue a run of poor away results.

:20:42. > :20:43.Fortunately Swansea lost, so Hull City remain

:20:44. > :20:45.above the relegation places, but their players know they'll

:20:46. > :20:48.have to pick up wins if they want to stay up.

:20:49. > :20:50.Yeah, it's not about anyone else, it's about ourselves.

:20:51. > :20:53.Like I say, we picked six points up in our last two,

:20:54. > :20:56.got us out of the bottom three, but we know there's plenty of work

:20:57. > :21:00.we need to do to pick up points and it's about us winning games,

:21:01. > :21:03.Scunthorpe United have given themselves a chance of promotion,

:21:04. > :21:05.after a win over one of their rivals on Saturday.

:21:06. > :21:08.The Iron won 1-0 at home against Bolton and will secure

:21:09. > :21:11.a play-off spot with three wins from their last four games.

:21:12. > :21:14.Hull boxer Luke Campbell is one step away from a world title fight.

:21:15. > :21:17.The Olympic gold medallist will meet former world champion

:21:18. > :21:19.Darleys Perez of Colombia in a title eliminator at Wembley

:21:20. > :21:24.A victory would make him the number-one challenger

:21:25. > :21:31.Radio 1's Big Weekend event at Burton Constable Hall sold out

:21:32. > :21:37.50,000 tickets were available for the two-day event,

:21:38. > :21:40.which is being held at the end of May.

:21:41. > :21:43.Kings of Leon and Katy Perry are amongst the acts who have

:21:44. > :21:57.If you tried the tickets this morning, I hope you were successful.

:21:58. > :22:02.More acts to be announced in the next week or so.

:22:03. > :22:05.Almost 2000 daffodils made entirely of Lego bricks have been

:22:06. > :22:09.The display in the newly created King Edward Square is part

:22:10. > :22:11.of the City of Culture year to celebrate Easter.

:22:12. > :22:14.The flowers will remain in place until the 18th April.

:22:15. > :22:22.They have sprung up over night, really, haven't they?
